For safety: Basic instruction on the controls - Adjusting mirrors, headlights, wipers. Also how to lock it up. I was constantly having to check each door when leaving the vehicle to ensure that it was locked e.g. to go into a restaurant.

Vince C.Customer service not nice. Website stated one thing and when arriving told something else. Online it stated you take all forms of payment. Visa debit is allowed and nothing said you couldn't for said location. Was told I couldn't get my uhaul as I had debit visa and had to call a friend jsut to get my rental vehicle. Also I had reserved my uhaul for 6 hours and was told on reservation I could return after hours no problem. At this location they state will be charged overnight fee if not returned before 4pm. I had mine reserved till 430. Had to rush my move because of this. Upon returning I had not used any fuel and the line was still the same as as we only drove from 3 blocks away and back. So I understand the need to refill but nothing was used and so not needed to be topped up. The guy was rude and said he should have charged me. And Ontop I was quoted one piece online and charged extra just for staying within Richmond. This was beyond the worst experience I've ever had with uhaul and will not use them again unless desperate next time.

RICHARD B.I would recommend this location but I would also tell people not to use the app for pick up of the vehicle. The app simply did not work and when I finally talked to support at U-Haul it did not work for them either. I ended up having to change some settings on my phone so that I could go through the website. In the end it took an hour and a half to get the keys. It caused me to be late for the elevator booking and basically doubled the time the move should have taken.

By the time we got there we lost an 1hr of move in time. So we had to take it piece by piece waiting for the elector each time Not impressed with mobile check in and would not recommend it.

I spent 45 minutes with customer service on the phone trying multiple workarounds just to be able to check in. This was inconvenient at 5am. Please make improvements to your app.

Adam George P.Had a big problem with a non BC driving license. People don't know how to read in English if there is more than one language on the licence. So i had to find a driver with a BC dl. And then when i was trying to return the truck online registration redirected me to error page so i could not finish the return properly. Horrible experience with u-haul not only that location!
Sultan Mehdi S.my truck was literally broken, it had no water or oil in it when i got it, and within one km it started breaking down and the engine started overheating. this was a terrible experience and i received no help in finding a replacement truck or anything. my entire move was delayed because of a broken truck.

Derick S.I was told by the person at the desk to return the van with gas tank at full - as the tank was not full when I took the van off the lot (even though gas gage indicated full), I ended up putting 15 litres of gas in the tank rather than 5 litres (37 km worth). U-Haul customer relations advised that it is better to estimate fuel usage based on KM driven as the tanks are usually not topped up after each use. I am expecting to be reimbursed for this extra amount, but there needs to be a clearer policy in place for fuel replacement. Keep track of KM driven and fuel up based on that.
