The signage was terrible. It felt like a back alley transaction. The guy who helped us was not in any u-haul uniform or truck. We basically didn't think this was a “real†location. The guy was great though and helpful. He had the needed cable for my truck on hand and knew the process. He was able to answer our questions and coordinated the pickup well.

Kevin L.I find renting from this Redwood City office is a much better experience--because the guy is timely, he communicates well, as soon as I arrive he is able to help me, but MOST importantly he makes it way easier on me for pickup and drop-off because he shows me where the trailer is and helps me hook it up. (As a non-technical woman, all of these little details are super helpful!) When I return, he does all the work to get it unhooked and repacked. Such an excellent customer experience I rented from this locale 3x this month since I'm doing a big project!

My appointment time was at 9:30 am at a different location, but then I got an anonymous text with this location the day before indicating a pick-up at 9:00 am. THEN, the morning of the pick-up I got an email / text suggesting that the pick-up would not be until 9:50 am. However, when I arrived timely, the service provider still didn't show-up until 30 minutes later at 10:20 am. To make matters worse, the weather was unsettled and I Ubered to the location. There was nowhere dry to wait.

Equipment was ancient but functional. Compared to Mt View this is an embarrassment to UHaul. Hard to critique the owner for trying to be entrepreneurial and rent trucks from here, but is this the brand you want?

It barely had room to pull in the large trailer I was using, the pickup person wasn't there when I arrived, and the location wasn't very obviously marked. I didn't initially feel confident that I was turning the trailer over to an authorized person, but I did get my email receipt promptly and overall there wasn't a problem. This just seems to be what happens in a large urban area.

Jose G.Went online to look up a location to rent a truck trailer, and mention that Edison Way location had one. I call to confirm that the trailer was there or was going to be there and connected with gentleman who seemed a bit rude. I was explained the reason for the call which he stated he didn't had the trailer at the moment but if was for the next day he would and hang up the phone since he mention he was busy. I placed the order which I was set to pick up the trailer at 8:00am and once order the guy called me again and told me to give him a call in the morning as I was on the way to pick it up. Next morning, I give him a call and mention to meet him a whole different place, waited for him for 30min and still ask me for my information after I had input it online. This is not your typical Uhaul location.

On the phone, the owner told us that he wouldn't be able to give us a dolly and we would have to go to another u-haul location to get one. He ended up cancelling the dolly order for us but I felt this was quite unprofessional.

Jessica B.The attendant mis-reported the time when I returned the trailer so that I was double charged. He was the one who helped take the trailer off of my car, so, I believe this was deliberate. Had I not taken a photograph of the trailer in its parked space at the time I actually returned it I would not have been able to do anything about it. U-haul was kind enough to reimburse and correct the error. I would not recommend this location in general because it is a combination of a 24 hour roadside assistance and U-Haul dealer. As such, the service for U-haul is not the only priority. Overall, the service of actually placing the trailer and checking in was good. The dishonesty is what most concerns me.

Hector S.I would not, in the future, recommend U-Haul to anyone unless it was the only option. I feel cheated. When I got in the truck, it had just under a quarter tank of gas. I took a picture which showed that, but marked it as 1/4 tank since no one explained that 1/4 tank was important. I drove a total of 9 miles. I had the truck for just under 2 hours. And yet, when I returned the truck with the fuel gauge virtually unchanged, you charged me $13.50 dollars for 9 miles if gas, claiming that I used 2 gallons, and you charged an additional $30 "refueling" charge. So I paid $43.00 for fuel for 9 miles and 2 hours. I then received a perfunctory call after to explain that 1/4 is 1/4 tank and that there would be no refund. That is not the road to repeat business or high ratings. I was, and am, disappointed in how this was handled, but I suspect that you won't care.

This added a major time delay in my plans. I arrived at the location before it was scheduled to open to pick up my trailer, however the attendant didn't show up until 40 minutes after the scheduled opening time. He was very nice and got me out of there rather quickly, but I had called the night before to confirm that someone would be there at opening. With that said, This was An improvement over the previous months rental. So that's not a good look on uhaul in general. So far I have not found Bay Area uhaul locations to be reliable.

Mariana Q.One of the workers named Rick had a horrible attitude throughout the process. The contract made with the company said that I was to return my trailer Monday, July 17 at 12:00. He called me on Friday to confirm that I was to return it July 17, he then contacted me Sunday, July 16 saying that I was supposed to return it on that day at 12. At that moment I had no access to my account, and when I was able to enter my account, it continued to say that I was supposed to return it July 17. I called him at 4 pm, and he said that I still needed to return it that day and that he'd wait for me. I tried to explain to him that the contract said that I was to return it the next day, but he wouldn't listen. I went to return it, and explained to him in person that the day I was supposed to return it was July 17. He then said," Whatever, it's already here". Half an hour later, I got home and I received a call from Rick again. He asked me where the trailer was and that he was waiting for me. I told him that I had already returned the trailer. He started screaming at me saying that he hadn't received the trailer, and that I must've gone to the wrong place to return it. He started saying that he was going to charge me more because I hadn't returned it. I tried to explain to him that I had returned it, giving him details about the car that I was using. He then hung up on me abruptly. His tone throughout the call was very rude and not what I expect from customer service. I was left confused because I was sure that I had returned the trailer and I didn't want to be charged more when I knew that I had returned it earlier than expected. I decided to go back to the location to figure out what was going on. Once I got their I asked Rick what was going on. He responded to me, once again in a rude tone, saying,"I was wrong, you can leave". He never apologized and never returned the money for the one day I was still supposed to have with the trailer that was wasted because of his mistake. This whole process was insufferable and I had a horrible experience with the worker. While I was there I saw that I wasn't the only client he treated badly. I hope that this location can get better staff. I also hope that I am able to get back the money I spent on the last day of having the trailer, being that my time with it was cut short by a staff member unable to realize his own mistakes and acting with immaturity throughout the process.

The representative took keys and told me that he will check out the truck himself. Today, I was overcharged almost three times: 1) 1 extra day (I returned same day and took Uber and I have receipt) 2) Fuel charge (I have invoice from Gas station at return time and location) 3) I waived insurance coverage, but was charged for both days
Oleksandr G.Difficult to access with a trailer. The location is not well marked and it looks like you are pulling into a construction site with conex boxes, miscellaneous construction equipment, with U-Haul being an afterthought to the gravel surfaced, multipurpose industrial lot.

Was also asked for additional ID on the app at the pickup site: passport - who carries that with them. Mobile app also failed at pickup site, which delayed my pickup by 25 minutes. Vehicles should be FILLED with gas, not just 1/8th of a tank! Not impressed. Sorry.
