Have the truck ready. I rented it on a snowy day, and the truck was blocked by another car, and it had to be cleaned.

NotHong to do with the place itself, but in regards to rental. It's very expensive for a rental and don't understand what paying for the mileage is for. You need to bring back with a full tank of gas so it's not fornthat.
Communicate better. Tell people in advance what they need and how long it will take

Let the customer know the rate is not $19.95 there are more charges in renting U haul. Bad Advertising

I had to go out of my way to get to this location after talking with a rude woman from customer support saying they did not have a van for me at the location I chose and had a confirmed reservation for. No one at this location seemed to know what they were doing, and did not have the materials I originally selected when making the reservation, However they did only charge me for what I receieved.
Better customer service would be nice
I have not dealt with such rude and unprofessional people in a very long time. The customer service was absolutely terrible. I did not feel like a customer at all and was even yelled at on different occasions, while trying to get the rental agreement finished. If i would have not been in such a bind, I would have just left. Thanks to another customer, who i guess went through a similar experience, i was calmed down and finally got the van I reserved, after spending close to 45 minutes in that rental office. Needless to say, i did not make it back in time for their office hours (closing on the dot 5.30 PM!!!) on the same day, so i had to find a spot for the van for the night, to bring it back the next morning. In a nutshell: Try to find a different option to rent a van, unless you like being mistreated as a customer.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful, we needed the truck for an extra day and all it took was two minutes on the phone.
We told them that we were going to take the uhaul to Boston and they ended up charging us $2/mile in-town rate vs. The 40 cents out of town rate. They argued that we never told them but we did!! They told us that once the order is in the syste, they cant change it. We got ripped off and got charged over $1000. We will never recommend for anyone we know to use this place. Horrible experience!
Mike helped me out tremendously. I would definitely go back here again if i ever need another truck.
What really made the place was the customer service. The people were amazing and friendly. Very helpful and catered to all our needs. They were able to keep the mood light and fun. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

there was a roach in the truck and the woman working the counter took way too long to process a return. there were three other people waiting and this was before 8am.
It would be great if you were able to provide trucks with lift gates within your fleet.
I had my family reture truck.so I called asked about milage.was told 12miles.funny I made 2 moves inside bayonne.one was 10 blocks away and one was 15 blocks away.parked the truck left the house at 750 am to bring the truck back.was told 12miles....when I questioned that was told ask my family about it....bayonne is 3 miles long ....your kidding ...money is not the issue.being robbed and being nasty is ....never again
I forget the names of the gentlemen and lady who was working..but they were very friendly..which is why I will rent from this location again.
The guy in charge gave me the wrong mileage and when I complaint started laughing and said he couldn't do anything. I told him I had prove with a picture and said nothing can be done with that. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISRESPECTFUL to me and his co-worker lady...worse experience ever!

Fix the truck's steering, fix the ladys attitude. I arrived to pick up the truck which I put on hold and reserved for 11 a.m. and was told that the man that had to help me was not in the office. The receptionist told me that he ran to a client house in order to give them some supplies. She said he should be arriving shortly I waited for an hour and a half meanwhile I have people at my house that I asked to help me move and was paying to help me move. I'm very upset about this whole situation and experience with Uhaul which I use for every other moves that I've ever had.
Not to be outdone, the jersey city drop off location was even worse. 2 hours before I was due to drop the truck off in was told that I again would be re-routed. After calling customer service and explaining I had to other ride to get from the dropoff location to my apartment(as I was walking) I was told to go ahead and drop off at the originally scheduled location. I was met and treated incredibly rudely by the lone employee on site who refused to take the truck and sat outside smoking a cigarette while he ignored calls from his supervisor from a remote location. This company is bound to fail if this level of service is representative of the company as a whole.
The Manager, Paul, was extremely rude, unhelpful and at times very sarcastic. Only spoke with him on the phone while I was in Sedona, AZ.
I have owned a large Gold's Gym and understand the value of good customer service and common courtesy. I couldn't believe this man was the alleged manager and how unproffesional and downright obnoxious he was. The front desk staff were great and when I mentioned my encounter with "Paul", his response was, "Oh yeah, he's sick in the head".
Nothing to improve on. Excellent service & friendly staff made for a perfect first-time experience with U-Haul and this location.
Terrible customer service. On Sunday I came to pick up. Being that they close early on Sunday I was told by the tall guy behind the counter to just park the truck near by the next morning and have my bring the key back. So the next morning came and as my wife was handing the key the lady behind the counter started screaming at her. She demanded that my wife drive the truck into the lot. My wife told the lady she does not know how to drive the truck and tried to explain what instruction was given to us on pick day. And driving the truck to the lot was not one them. She was rude, the lady behind the counter needs to know the value of good customer service. I will not go bank there and will not recommend this place to anyone
customer service was poor and guy on the reception was very rude.
I booked this location and was confirmed for drop off. The u-haul website states that this location is open until 12pm on Sunday's. Accordingly I planned my move for a drop off at this location at 12PM. Received a phone call at 9:45AM Sunday that they will close at 11:30AM. When challenging the rep that the website shows a 12PM closure I was told that the website is incorrect. So either you need to change you website or the rep flat out made this up.
Would be nice to have a night drop off. Plus the NJ hidden fee is nonsense because they let you know after the fact.
The man that runs the store was extremely rude to me and other customers. Even went on cursing and screaming like a child. Why is he still open? Years ago I encountered him while trying to rent a truck, he was being rude to an older woman, I walked out. Shame on him!
Everything went so well that I have no ideas for improvement. The people are very friendly and helpful.
They have very poor customer service!! The older lady left me on hold for almost 20 minutes as she was looking for my reservation. She didn't offer an apology when I hung up and called back. There's no after-hour drop off so please make note before you rent. I was totally disgusted with service provided and would NOT recommend this location at all.

I am very upset with the way they handled business with me i moved my stuff from 10th street of bayonne to 5th st also in bayonne which is only 5 blocks i only made 3 trips which calculates up to 1.5 miles and i made one ride to uptown bayonne to drop off furniture altogether i must have drove only 5 miles or less the manager told me i drove 44 miles which is highly impossible i read reviews on this place and there is nothing but complaints of the same thing i had the truck for 3 days 19.99 a day 14.99 for insurance and 2.99 per mile at 5 miles which pretty much comes to about a 100$ i paid that upfront they can pay the bill with that im sorry i refuse to pay for that when i know i didnt drive 44 miles
I will never rent nothing from this uhaul place again the guy that close out my contract is very slick.I let him think that he got over on me but in the back of my mind i know he will never get my business again.
