If my issue is not resolved, I will be going to the BBB. The day started off fine, I picked up my truck and was on my way. On my way back to the store, the truck had engine failure and I had to coast off of the highway. The first person I talked to at Roadside assistance was very rude considering my circumstances. I was told the tow truck would be there within 30 minutes, and it took an hour. The tow truck person called me, I explained the situation, and asked for a tow truck, but they insisted on bringing a service vehicle. When they called, they said they were minutes away, it was another 30 minutes. I called my local shop, and asked to talk to the manager to find out what I should do, and was told he would call me back, he never called me back. The roadside assistance person did do a good job and called me regularly to check. The service truck came out, and initially said they would have me drive it, and they would follow me. They then realized it was worse than they thought, and said they would tow it. I talked to someone at roadside again, and told them the situation. I was planning on getting gas right by the uhaul station, so I was unable to go after the engine failure. They made note of it. I then got an electronic receipt, and instead of being given a discount or a refund for my truck failure and sitting on the highway for over an hour, they CHARGED ME FOR THE GAS I DIDNT FILL. I tried calling the store, and without even telling me, they just connected me to customer service, who then forwarded me to roadside, and back to customer service. All they could do was file a complaint. What terrible service. I felt like a hot potato all day, the local shop wouldnt help me, and would forward me on to someone else, most of the time without even telling me. Ive used Uhaul many times, but this was a terrible experience, and no one has offered to refund or compensate for the difficulties.
