When I returned the trailer nobody was around but eventually found a piece of paper on the counter stating "For assistance please use the walkie". When they made it up front there was no eye contact, and they smelled like weed.

Picture I received showed the fuel graph at 7/ 16 so I was charged $19 plus dollars for fuel. Went back and confirmed it was over half a tank. Absolutely unacceptable.
JOSHUA V.Rented 4 trucks throughout my move 2 TMs 1 JH and finished it off with a DC got off to a rocky start here and left a bad review YOU can tell the entire team and manager are engaged in their work after leaving the review it was a complete 180 and I was blown away by the customer service at this location I'd now rate it a 5 out of 5 Maria and her employees will go above and beyond to meet the customer's needs I could tell they had seen the review and the rest of my vists after that I was taken by how much they wanted to do right everyone was professional knowledgeable and made sure to make me feel welcome overall completely satisfied with how the move worked out and couldn't of done it without U-Haul two thumbs up you won't be disappointed in doing business at this location.

Tammy K.Had to go to another location to get the 5x8 one way trailer that was reserved for me at Koeller surety facility since the original piece of equipment had electrical issues and they did not have another one way unit. That was fine, thanks for catching this electrical issue. Sent to another facility to pick up trailer. Service was good at Ohio street facility although after inspecting the outside and approving drove it home, open the sliding door to discover a bunch of black powder and a couple small metal parts on the floor. Needed to sweep it out and trash two wet towels to clean the black powder on the floor so it did not transfer to the furniture I was hauling. Disappointed this was not dealt with before I picked up the unit. Thought these types of messes were suppose to be dealt with before the previous user dropped the trailer off or cleaned up after inspection at the distribution station. Otherwise actual trip was uneventful which was positive!

Neil S.The employees should let the customers know how much it is to rent a U-Haul for a weekend, by telling us how much it is per mile. The guy estimated us at $134.00, when my husband told him how far we were driving. He put less mileage on the computer for an estimate. We also were never given a receipt as to how many miles we're on the vehicle at the time of rental. Therefore we can't fully guarantee exactly how many miles we put on the U-Haul. But when I estimated the trip, I came up with about a hundred miles less then what they are claiming that we used. Therefore, we were sent a promissory note to pay almost $400 more than what we already paid. I don't believe that this is fair or ethical in any way for people to do customers that way. If I would have known that it was going to be that much, I would not have rented the U-Haul for the entire weekend, nor would I have gone that far, I would have just rented a trailer and hooked it to the back of our own vehicle. I would appreciate a contact back from this company, as I would like to discuss the current receipt and promissory note of this bill. Thank you for your time

Angela A.The person who helped me at the front desk was very kind and I had a good customer service experience. My frustration is that I scheduled a hitch installation with wiring. It wasn't until after the install was done that I was told that the wiring wasn't in stock and that part couldn't be done. It was a 30 min drive each way to drop and pick up the van doing it in Oshkosh, which was better than where I live where I'll need to drive an hour each way. .However, I am leaving town today so now I still need to do the hour drive each way to get the wiring done. Had I know the wiring couldn't be done, I probably would have cancelled the appointment. Also, my appt was scheduled for 7a but later that day I checked the app and the appt was moved to 830a without anyone telling me. I had already dropped my car off but that add a delay to when I can pick it up. In summary - please have better communication with your customers. Expectations determine customer satisfaction. If someone called me Tuesday and said your wiring isn't in, is that ok? and Your appt will be at 830 instead of 7a, is that ok? I could have managed my expectations and would be leaving a better review and rating.

TAYLOR R.Manager was rude and condescending. The float stuck on the gas gauge when refilling when returning the truck. Picked up the vehicle with 1/2 tank was told to return it the same. When filling the truck the float on the fuel gauge stuck and wouldn't read then all the sudden kicked in and jumped all the way to full. I got a receipt and presented it during the return and requested to be reimbursed for 1/2 the gas since the gauge was faulty. Was told a manager could only reimburse me. Upon going out with an employee during the check in I pointed out the fuel gauge and explained what had happened. Upon returning in the store the manager was present with arms crossed barking at me. I again explained the situation and she stated "your out of luck that's my truck and there will be no reimbursement. It's in the contract that we're not responsible for gas". Things were a little heated and I requested a phone number for her boss then to settle the situation and she refused belligerently telling me "no I'm not going to give out that number." I then said fine and proceeded to sit in the customer chair at the front desk. She then asked me to leave to which I responded again can I speak with your boss. She proceeded to call the police to have me removed. While waiting for the police another employee asked what I was hoping to accomplish by this and I simply stated I would like a number to go above her and discuss reimbursement. To which the manager said "you can call customer service 1-800-gouhaul." I then exited the building when the police showed up and explained the situation to them and went on my way. This manager was belligerent,rude and condescending. To which the same courtesy was reciprocated back. The back story was I just moved my parents to assisted living and they were paying the bill. If anyone out there knows it's extremely expensive and every dollar counts for them. Such a great way to treat your customers and our elderly. Hopefully she is not the model on which your company is based on. I've used u-haul many times in the past with no issues but after this experience probably never again especially at this location. You asked for suggestions to improve for the next customers?How about standing behind your product especially when it was faulty equipment tha caused the situation? How about a manager without the rude attitude and god forbid some actual customer service instead of condescending belligerence!

Stephanie M.This was the worst storage experience I have ever had. The GM locked me out of my units without any notice for a month and I had trouble getting a hold of her in order to get back in. It turns out she had locked me out because she had gotten in trouble with her boss because of something inappropriate written on her board and it included my phone number so she decided I was to blame and locked me out of my units which contained all of my possessions as I was homeless at the time. Anytime I tried to get a hold of her to get anything done, she sent me straight to voice-mail. I tried talking to her supervisors and was often brushed off and told to talk to her instead. I was overcharged for my units and it took almost a month to get it straightened out. I would never recommend this site, let alone this company to anyone.

Wendy U.I reached out to the manager before pulling out my property a few times and was not given a response once. I was told that I would get a lein feebtaken off of my bill a total of 3 times and paid it with no discount and no refund. I was also quoted less than my monthly contract. I moved for work and had to come all the way back a few times to take care of it. My experience was not a favorable one and I was not refunded the Lein fees that I was told would be taken off and refunded. Overall I was happy to not lose things that were left to me by my parents that passed away and need3d to store them because of working on the road and not being around.

One even sitting in the passenger seat when we got the truck. We returned the truck cleaner than we received it but of course got charged for the furniture pads because no one ever put them away and put a new zip tie on before we got the truck.

The tank should be full when I pick it up and I would then return it full. I believe this company does this purposefully to be able to add additional charges to the customer. There appears to be nothing I can do about this overcharge. I should not have to deal with this frustration and poor customer service.

When I get there with a car load of stuff, no lock inside the unit. The unit is totally dark and there is space that is taken up by plumbing. I feel like this was a $215 mistake. I just wanted a bigger unit. Not a completely dark unit, that is supposed to be 50% bigger than my current unit but has a bunch of pipes in the corner. That was not disclosed to me. It doesn't even look like it's 50% bigger. I am not happy with it, at all.

I started getting calls about a past due bill for a storage unit I didn't rent in a town two hours away from where I live. At first I patiently explained to the callers that they had the wrong number on the account. Then I continued to receive calls and messages for several months. Eventually I became less patient with repeatedly explaining the error and asking them to remove my number. Now I received a text message asking me to take a survey and rate my experience. Unbelievable. Please, U-Haul, you need to find some way to enable your customer service reps to fix a simple error so they stop calling and texting me.

First there was some confusion about the reservation, and the location of the storage unit. Then I got my card and could not get it to work, and one employee could not get it to work, but then the more knowledgeable employee got it to work on the first try. I continued having issues with my key card throughout the move in process, sometimes taking up to 10 swipes to get it to work. It was also extremely frustrating that there was no way or option to keep the door open while moving everything into my unit, especially since I had family helping and I was the only one with the key card. The first unit I was supplies was an 8x10, which I was informed could hold everything on a 15' truck. That unit had a small door and a relatively small hallway which made it nearly impossible to fit my larger furniture in to the unit. When we put my first large item in there, a 3 seat couch, it already took up half the unit. I also did not appreciate that the unit was very dark and had no available light source. Anyway, as soon as we realized the unit would not do, we managed to speak to the employees right as they were closing and thankfully they were still very helpful with switching me to a larger unit. That unit us much nicer and although there still isn't a light source inside, lighting was no issue, and it has a garage door entrance which made it MUCH easier to move my many large items into it.

I was pretty much forced to remove all my belongings from my paid storage unit because they would've removed it themselves. I was left to last second come up with a solution to find a place to store all my things. It also didn't help I was only able to go into my storage on their time. I had to have permission just to go in my storage unit when I paid for 24/7 access. You guys went back on stuff which is in the contract. You guys handled everything bad and screwed me over and a lot of people on my floor. I pay 150 month for a secure climate control building and I got this.

FRANK M. | First ImpressionsI had called the facility on 9/24 and indicated that I would be in on Saturday to move everything out of the unit. I stated that I would be willing to pay for the 2 extra days of use. The representative said ok. When I arrived at the facility on Saturday morning at 7:15am. We had to wait for the door to be unlocked even though it was supposed to open at 7:00. We rented a 10' u-haul truck for the expressed purpose of cleaning out the storage unit. Once we were done, we returned the truck to the facility. The person made us wait outside and had a poor attitude when questions were asked about being refunded the difference in mileage. She argued that we were never charged even after me showing her the pending charge on my account. A couple hours after leaving the facility, we received a call from the unpleasant person who had checked in the truck stating that we owed 149.00 for the storage unit. I advised that I had spoken with someone 2 days prior and had advised that I was moving out today and that I would be paying for the 2 extra days of use. And nothing was said about paying the full amount. She said that it was told to me because there is a note on the account. I advised her again that it was not and said that I hope their calls are recorded. She said she would send it to her manager. A little while later I received an email receipt for the payment. I called the facility about it and told them that I do not authorize them to make the charge and I will pay for the 2 days that I stated before and was told ok. The "manager" got on the phone and started saying that she was the one who had spoken to me and that I was told it would be the full amount. I said no listen to the phone call because that was not said. A little while later I received a link via email to the recorded call, which the representative knew I would not be able to access since I am not an employee. Then after sending an email stating that and that I would be calling corporate, I received a screenshot of a note in some account. This was a very poor experience. I have been a uhaul customer for many years and have used u-hauls truck rental at least 4 times in the past 5 years, but around 10 times in my lifetime. I have spent quite a bit of money with u-haul and due to this experience, I will be searching out other options if/ when I move again.
