If there is a problem with a customer's account, they should be informed right away in writing instead of waiting until they attempt to rent again and they have to wait more than an hour to try and clear up the problem over the phone. Also, after speaking with a representative about incorrect information entered by the representative on billing and receipt. It was corrected, but we were told it would take 3 days for the correction to take affect. The representative was not forthcoming with information until we continued to try and receive a corrected receipt. We had to go back and forth a few times to get clear communication. after all of that we didn't even receive an apology for the error.

Taking picture is of every aspect of the truck, trying to open the locks to return the keys in freezing cold weather is unacceptable. There should be a drop box and someone can review the status of the truck. People are renting these trucks to move and having to do all that after a stressful and tiresome day is not right!!

The move took several hours with booking the equipment (with the uhaul clerk), moving the personal belongings out of storage, into the truck, and to his new residential address. The uhaul clerk had a truck and extra equipment ready for rental use that was required to make the move simple. All at an affordable billing rate. Overall good moving equipment.

On Dec 15th I rented a van and moved my stuff outta storage into a residence hence no charge for storage. I'd recommend this facility and it's helpful services to all. It’s possible that the wider door which is apparently being used for construction will become just that. This is my third time using this storage, it’s pretty great overall.

When she was looking in the back of truck for damages s when she told me she will charge $25 for the store to clean truck. Very unfriendly and she needs to have training update on how to treat customers She treated me like I was a criminal! I have used U-Haul for the last time.! Please train your staff to treat customers better.. there was a new employee there who is not learning to be customer service oriented.with the management..

Sherri JordanSo happy that one month of storage came free with the UHaul rental—it was a lifesaver for moving to a new city! Loved the convenience of checking in and out at times that worked for us. One comment—sometimes there were 4-5 moving carts available, and sometimes 0. When there are none, it is nearly impossible to move heavy items, since our unit was at the end of a very long hallway. Can you have a sign encouraging customers to try to use only 1 cart per member of their moving crew? Or have 2 extra carts that can be checked out from the front desk if all from the main area are gone? Thank you!!

Joseph EdwardsI need to be contacted by your customer relations team or I will be suing sue to the treatment I experienced at the hands of the manager of this facility. I was called a “retard” and evicted from my unit for parking in their empty parking lot, I have this on video. When I went to have my belongings removed, multiple cars were parked in the same lot with no managers harassing them to move or calling them sluts (also recorded on video). Tiffany Currilo called me a “retard” on the clock and continues to maintain employment.
Jessica Brookman | Overall ExperienceI got the van number from the online pickup guide but I couldn't find it anywhere. I kindly asked the staff at the location if she could help me find it, but she acted like I was not a customer because I was using the online process. Knowing I couldn't count on her, I looked on my own again and finally found a van with a completely faded number. I could hardly tell the number, so I went to her to double-check. Once again, she was like "I don't know, just follow the online instruction". Her response not only showed that she didn't care about customer experience at all, but also told me that she was completely unaware that one of the equipment they should be maintaining had a faded number. I had to check by myself again that no other van had the number I was looking for before clicking "found the truck". In the next step, I could verify the license plate and finally confirmed that this was the one. I followed the instructions to check the exterior and interior of the van: dirt and gross sticky stains in the back... Most importantly, I couldn't find the utility dolly I reserved. Reluctantly I went to her again, she said "We don't have any right now". ??? Excuse me??? Trying my best to be calm and polite, I asked "So what should I do? How am I supposed to move my stuff? I live alone so I have to do most of it without any help." She told me she just got a furniture dolly returned and I could have it. I agreed and waited for her to retrieve it for me. After 5 minutes, she still hadn't shown up, so I went into the customer center to look for her. She was assisting another customer in picking up their equipment so I felt I should wait in line. It took really really long. My time is precious too so I waited until the customer was filling out some paperwork and she wasn't doing anything, and I asked if she was able to get the dolly. She shouted, "I AM WITH A CUSTOMER". (╯‵□′)╯︵┴─┴(╯‵□′)╯︵┴─┴(╯‵□′)╯︵┴─┴ I had to wait another 5 mins before she finally told me the dolly was just lying in a corner. It was like she deliberately made me wait when she could just tell me where it was really quick. After going through another series of troubles, 1.5 hours had passed and the sun had set when I sat in the driver's seat and started the van. I turned the key clockwise and the yellow light of the "change engine oil" indicator illuminated the already dark inside of the van. At that moment, I knew there was no way this pick-up experience could be any more terrible.

Paul KumpfI disagree with your policy of contacting a friend to verify the renter's identity. It offers you absolutely NO added security. What is does is force me to disturb one of my friends while they're at work to respond. I expressed my opinion and the young woman who claimed to be the manager argued with me in an attempt to explain the purpose. I stated on a number of occasions that I understand what it is attempting to accomplish but it doesn't do it and is nothing more than an inconvenience for me and my friend. She continued to argue with me even as I complied with the useless policy and threatened to cancel my rental ("because I'm the manager!") when I asked her to stop talking to me. I hope to never need to rent another truck, but if I do, it will likely not be from U-Haul.
Kevin EwingThe storage was advertised (and priced) as having temperature control. However, after less than 6 weeks, my mattress, which was inside a mattress protector, was full of mold. Some of my clothes and books, all of them properly stored in boxes, were ruined by mold as well. I lost hundred of dollars by using this location. I would not recommend it to anybody. Atrocious service and an awful experience overall.

Usually the staff is amazing and super nice/accommodating so I was surprised the last time I called. I rated it excellent and marked yes for everything because I know how surveys can impact staff. One staff member should not hold everyone's weight, but I would not recommend and my experience was great until last month.

It can be confusing, and I had to show others what to do, too. Also, make people aware that the dollies aren't available after a certain hour, even though you can access the building as late as 10. When I returned around 5:30, whole dolly area was completely blocked off so I assume it wasn't a case of them all being used. Plus no one else was there so they couldn't all be out for use. It was not super fun loading and unloading everything one by one by myself. Woulda brought someone with me if I had known. :)

On my initial visit to the facility, the manager, Tyffany Cirillo, was quite informative, more so than personnel at another U-Haul in the Greater New Haven area to which I had previously gone in search of specific details about truck and storage space tentals. When I checked in to 83 Water Street to return my 1-way rental truck, I discovered it had a serious issue. Staff person Milagros "Max" Escobar, also very friendly and helpful, was quick to get the truck problem resolved to my total satisfaction. She also guided me through the storage space rental process taking extra time to be sure I was totally familiar with everything. So, many thanks to both Tyffany and Max for their outstanding customer service and support! I'll be sure to recommend their U-Haul location to those in need of such services.

Had a storage unit there (just moved out last week) for two years and never had a problem. The storage building was always clean and well-lit. Not a fan of their carts, but they work and are always available. One thing though, they really need to update their computer system, it's a mess.

There are many "gateways" to access—which is good so that you feel your items are secure. However, I wish there had been more signage or directions located on site.

When you first walk through the door you can smell the cleanliness in the air. Wish I had rented from U-haul before the storage place I moved from. The place was dark, dingy and had a musty odor . I moved because my unit was broken into and items were taken. I feel that my items are much more secure now and don't expect to have any security issues here. Great place.
