This is my first time using the service and as far as I'm concerned, from renting to returning the van I have nothing to complain about.

Dale F.Joey and his team are really friendly and helpful. They always remember me. Joey greets customers with a pan of rice krispie squares and a genuine interest in getting people on their way. Opening a new small business has been full of surprises for me, but getting a truck or van during the buildout has been consistently easy and timely. Grateful for the Ypsi UHaul!

kelley B.The way you determine gas to be replaced in the tank before returning the truck, felt like it was VERY incongruent to the number of mikes I drove! Literally I drove less than 10 miles and ended up putting $20 of gas in so I could make sure I didn't have any fees for the gas gauge not being where you wanted it! Felt like I was cheated and taken for what you could get! Not sure I will be as quick to choose UHaul next time . . . Also, there were no other customers and I had to walk to the very back of the lot to find the truck I rented. In the past, my vehicle was always parked at the front of the parking lot, if not right in front!!! This location - doesn't seem to be very customer service focused!!!!! Would not give a good rating to this location! Very different in Kalamazoo!!!!

Denise D.Front desk service is key. Please review store front desk video to see what I mean. I had a good experience this time. Everyone else I saw, less so. The new guy was doing great. Checked in my return even though there was two empties parked in front of me. I was grateful to work with him at the front desk, also. This was one of the best U-Haul experiences ever.

Bethany W.I reserved a van through the app. When I arrived and went through pickup the number of the van did not match. I went inside and waited over 20 while another rep and customer talked about personal matters. Then the manager was free and asked if I needed help. While wearing large over the ear headphones. So I don't even know if he heard my questions properly. Told him the van was not out there. Then he just says it's in the lot. No assistance or anything. So I go back out to the lot and I find the van. But, the van is different from the picture on the app completely. It was older so I wasn't looking for that type. I wasted over 1/2 hour of my time just trying to pick it up. I had to hurry with my project to get it back in time. Will go somewhere else next time.

Virginia F.Customer service was 12 on a scale of 1 - 10. The reservation system didn't want to cooperate, so what normally would have taken 10 minutes ended up taking close to an hour to get the rental assigned to the customer... But CSR Erik never missed a beat., he was pleasant and understanding with the IT person and apologetic with the customer( me) as needed (without going overboard). The equipment was top shelf. When I returned the rental I recieved quick courteous and helpful assistance. Overall: this is how all business should strive to operate. Well played folks!
BRUCE E.When I picked up the van they told me "it sounds like it has a weak start, but it starts every time". Yeah, that wasn't the case. The van died at the storage facility where I was picking things up. After waiting for service to get the van going for about 2 hours, the facility was closing and the owner needed me to leave so he gave the van a jump and I cancelled the dispatched vehicle service. I was unable to put gas in the vehicle due to the fact the van would die if I turned it off. On top of that, I had to leave the vehicle running as I unloaded resulting in greater use of gas than I have ever intended. I hope you plan on refunding me. My intended 3 to 4 hour trip ended up nearly 7 hours because of all of this.

Hazim A.The truck smell was unbearable of smoke. We were assigned a clean truck but were given the wrong key. Instead of giving us the correct key, we were given a very smelly truck. It got the job done, but it was miserable. Upon return customer service did not try to remedy this situation at all. Overall was not impressed, but if you need it, it's there. Just make sure to photo document everything. They tried to tell us the tank was 1/2 full but was only 1/4 full. Speak up for yourself otherwise you'll pay for it.

Russel M.Received a text message the day prior asking if I could change my pick-up location. I responded with no. The day of I received another text message in the morning saying I would need to pick-up from this location. Why give the customer an option if it's not really an option?? Strike one. Day of, I go to the location (the one I didn't want but was told I'd need to pick-up from) to grab my truck that I've reserved weeks ago. I arrive at the counter and am told they don't have it. Strike two. The person at this location then tells me that another location 15 minutes away has my truck. I asked him to confirm this is the case and that they are expecting me, the person tells me yes they have my truck and know that I'm coming. I arrive at the 2nd location get to the counter explain what had happened and the person at the counter says they don't have my truck and no one knew I would be coming. Strike three. This person then pulls up the computer and says it shows my truck is supposed to be picked-up at the location I originally went to. I ask him to call that location to confirm that there is a truck and I ask him to give me the name of the person I should be speaking with since I was told 20 minutes prior that there was no truck. After he calls the manager and speaks with her I'm told to return to the other store. Another 15 minute drive to the first store and I wait in line and am greeted by a very unpleasant person. I explain my situation and how this is the 2nd time I've been to this location to pick-up my truck, she doesn't even look up from her computer to acknowledgement me or my scenario and simple says "I just need your name." No apology, no explanation as to why I've spent the past hour running around town due to bad information/customer service. Strike four. An hour and a 1/2 later I finally have my truck from a location I never wanted to pick it up from in the first place. What a joke.
Adam C.This was not the initial location I made the reservation thru the app. The location pickup was changed to Auto One and that there was no 15 feet trucks. When I arrived at Auto One they were renting out 15 ft. Trucks. I asked for a 15 ft. They had none left, so they sent me to WASHTENAW Ave. The initial customer service representative stated the truck had a half of a tank and the mileage was 75875. Then there was an issue with the cost, 358. So that took an hour. There was a line and he finally got the truck keys to me. When I went out to the truck, the gas gauge was at 1/8 of a tank and the mileage was at 76,030. I called the 734-434-9100. A customer service representative answered and I explained the situation with the gas mileage and gas. She asked me to upload the photo which was completed. She stated she would fix the mileage and gas and to proceed with the trip because I explained I was still in the parking lot at WASHTENAW. The trip from Ypsilanti to Fremont was successful and I went to drop off the truck. And received a charge for an additional 135 due to the mileage situation. The truck was returned with 3/4 of a tank. I contacted the 734-434-9100, and spoke with the third customer service who stated at first didn't want to correct the mileage mistake until I informed him of uploading the picture and the second customer service representative informed me she would fix it before the trip began!!!!! Then he stated he would fix it and I should not have been charged the 135 for mileage due to if the correct mileage would have been reflected, I only drove 75 miles. My point, I have rented U-Haul trucks for years, this by far was the worst experience I have ever had and will probably never rent from this company again after the way a longtime customer was poorly treated and the time spent trying to get this situation fixed!!

Richard C.False advertising by uhaul... I rented a truck in order to used a trailer to tow a full size vehicle... pick up and drop off same location. I took the rentals home to find out the trailer was to small and do not fit the vehicle, the tires where resting on the ramp. Complete waste of time and money. I go back to the location to return the rentals and get my money back because they sold me a product the do not fit my needs and uhaul advertising said the tow trailers can tow any vehicle FALSE. The manager only refund the trailer fees, I ended up paying $70 for nothing.
