The girl working the office was very blunt and curt which made me feel a bit dumb and like I was bothering her. When I couldn't open the door I went back again which I hesitated doing. The office. employee was visibly disturbed that she had to meet me at my room. She arrived and quickly opened the door for me. When I stopped her from driving off to ask her what she did to get it to open, she snapped that all she did was pull the door up (to get the slide to move). While I am happy that the remedy was quick and easy, I certainly didn't appreciate such an attitude from a customer service representative. I have always had such enthusiastic knowledgeable staff assist me at this U Haul ocation. The facility has always been clean and my experience there has always been positive. I also take into consideration that people have stuff happen and things go on that may affect someone's mood. I just wanted to share my experience because this was the second email I received asking about my recent experience at the facility.

Today, the remotes for entry did not work so we have a code to type in (hard to do from a motorhome). Sebastian was quite helpful and friendly and said he'd mention to those in charge that you need new remotes or new batteries for the ones you have.

There was no interest in my opinion nor any effort to please me as a customer. There was no prorated fee available even though emptied our storage unit on the 20th of the month and had prepaid for the entire month. No one seemed to care about customer service only the companies bottom line. I had been storing in this location for 9 years and was treated so poorly I rented a trailer from the competition and moved my belongings to a competitive storage facility. If you value good customer service please do yourself and chose any other storage facility.

So, I didn't enter my access code and set off the alarm the first time I opened the unit. I guess you live and learn. The hauling carts are really nice. Everything I brought fit perfectly in the unit. I like how tall they are, so you can really stack the light objects up. Thank you for having it very clean and spotless. I hope I don't get any rodents in there. I noticed the trap. I pretty sure that I didn't put anything in there that will attract them.

Luckily I could carry what I needed from my unit past the construction tape to my vehicle, but it could have been a wasted 5 hour round trip since no notification was sent out by the office. Otherwise, it was a very good location and staff team.

The RV sites are way too narrow, the mud and muck when it rains is terrible.The fifth wheel toyhauler next to us slammed into the driver side mirror on our coach and then the owner pretended it never happened. (No other possible way this could have happened) Two days after we reported the damage to the Uhaul general manager, we received a call from the storage manager telling us that Uhaul was not going to do anything and the $1,000.00 in damage was on us. We also found scratches down the side of our coach that were not there before,(the side the toyhauler was on). We could not risk any further damage and removed our coach immediately.

Allan C | Overall ExperiencePlease reference complaint number 352-7300 which was made a week ago regarding rental space 2139 which is a covered parking for RVs and boats. We have a 19 year experience with U-Haul in Lakeside which has been good. My recent experience renting a covered space was anything but good. Which was documented again through the one 800 number for U-Haul‘s complaints number 3527300. Regulations on how you have to park, We’re not given at the time of pre-paying three months. On the morning of the incident my husband was attempting to put our boat in our spot...When he was accosted by the assistant manager over the storage area. Had she simply stated that it was a regulation and she was sorry that he had not been told. He simply would have turned it around and left. However, that is not what took place he received three mini lectures regarding other clients who were parked in backwards. He was also mini lectured on the fact that he did not have some sort of clicker which was not given to us at the time that we rented ...we had a card only. Then proceeded to say how some higher up manager was coming that day and that this site was going to be written up. All of this took place while my husband was needing to get back to work he is a store manager here on the mountain. It had been snowing overnight and raining. This was an unfortunate incident that took place with an unprofessional employee. It was very shocking to both of us since we’ve had a 19 year positive experience previous to this with our storage rental number 27AB. Which is in the same lot. On the day that we moved out The GM told me that following a review of this incident the remainder of my rental fee would be refunded for the $144.95 to my card. Having spoken to the GM and the customer service department I have been assured that in the future this kind of situation will not take place with our remaining rental in Lakeside. Steven F | Online Move InJust completed an interstate move using U-Box containers. I was unsure about it, but coming from a rather remote area, I had few alternatives. Now that it is done, I must say I'm quite pleased. The containers arrived almost two weeks faster than U-Haul promised and the cost was less than half of what the moving companies offered. I'd certainly recommend that anyone contemplating a long-distance move look into U-Box.

respect h | Overall ExperienceParking spaces are very tight. We were not able to get our fifth wheel in an out unless there was an open space next-door due to not having enough room. Also why is there so much gravel out there? Needed four-wheel-drive four-wheel-drive. We appreciate all the help from the staff and having a space because it solved a problem for us, but we would not park there again due to the deep gravel and tight parking spaces. We would recommend U-Haul to a friend but only if they have a small camper and four-wheel-drive. We have other friends who are parked in there and they say the same thing.

After seeing how the site was not being coordinated properly by the contractor and hearing of future fees going from 55$ to 180$ that was enough for me. I must say that you have a gal working there named Patti who was the friendliest and most helpful ever. Very professional, caring and dependable. Whatever you are paying her it's not enough. A true problem solver who cares and keeps you apprised of circumstances. I must also say that the Uhaul,s corporate control of communication is terrible. Whenever I would call Lakeside I would end up talking to a person NOT in Lakeside. Who thought that was a good idea should be fired. I should be able to speak to Uhaul personnel in Lakeside, not Detroit or wherever especially when my RV is having to be moved because of construction. A little common sense by corporate would have been helpful.

He talks down to his employees which can be over heard since while you are waiting they always seem to be trying to sort out some issue on their computers. Rather than work with you solely on what you need they ignore you from time to time dealing with other issues. I think the main problem with this location is strictly management, he needs to undergo sensitivity training as well as training to meet the needs of the customer.
