The 3 passenger seat van sounded as if it was not in the correct gear even though it was in drive. I felt like the engine was going to blow and the tow/haul light kept coming on without being pressed. I wasn't towing anything.. I feel like I should have been giving some type of instructions. My experience was met with paranoia that i even decided against going to my storage unit because I feared the truck wouldn't make it far without complications.

Dashawn G.I am extremely dissatisfied with U-Haul. First, As I was making my reservation, I initially said I would pick up the van at 1:00 PM, but then just seconds later I changed my mind and said that I would pick it up at 1:30 PM instead. I repeated this at least 3 times, that I wanted my reservation at 1:30 PM, not 1:00 PM. However, when I picked up the van the next day at 1:23 PM and said that I had a 1:30 PM reservation, the man said that it was a 1:00 PM reservation. I corrected him and said, "No, I initially said 1:00 PM but then I quickly changed my mind and said over and over to make it 1:30 PM." Instead of apologizing for the mistake on U-Haul's part, he insisted that it was a1:00 PM reservation. I repeated that while I initially said 1:00 PM, I quickly changed my mind and told the woman who took the reservation to change it to 1:30 PM. At least three times I asked her to change it to 1:30 PM. Not only am I extremely unhappy that she did not correct the reservation despite my repeatedly sayng to make it 1:30 PM instead of 1 PM, but the man's attitude the next day was completely rude and un-accomodating. Second, the vans are not clean. I've even take pictures of dried mud splashed inside the cabin and I've had to clean the vans the last two times (the first rental van last August was almost brand new). On top of this, there's a horrific chemical perfume smell that is very caustic to me and I can barely breathe and it makes me sick. It can also give me a migraine. I do not know why you feel a need to perfume the trucks. I have even cleaned the cargo areas in hopes of eliminating the noxious odor and dirt, but it only reduced it instead of eliminating it. I'm very unhappy about my last two (out of three) experiences with U-Haul and I've been looking for alternatives. I just learned yesterday that Enterprise rents pick up trucks for $38/day with unlimited mileage.

John R.There was low tire pressure, the check engine light was on, there was absolutely zero windshield wiper fluid in a snow storm. I had to buy a jug and fill up the wiper fluid myself. Additionally, the wheel covers were all loose, which made me concerned that the lugs underneath might have also been loose. Just overall sketchy driving this for a 3 hour work trip.

There were items that were damage or did not work within the vehicle. I do understand it is a rental and not everyone will respect the equipment. Hence why I provided the ratings.
Wai S.I went to the uhaul on E 55 in Cleveland Ohio AND IT WAS THEE WORST EXPERIENCE.. Malik helped me and he was very wet very very unprofessional! He told me that he was ready to get my out the door. He kept $20 refund. Entire experience was HELL!!!

Leon H.I rented a uhaul truck on the 19th and reserved it until the 20th at ok so I moved out of my old place at night time on the 19th and returned the truck before the 5pm on the 20th I reserved the truck for 50 miles and only used 32 miles on the truck so they owe me money right so I go to return the truck but needed to put gas in the truck first and card declined I charged a cash app to my card that did not clear but the money was taken from my account so I couldn't not get no gas sad right just wait for it cause it gets worse so I return the truck to the lot early ahead of schedule time to return it and told the worker that came out that we were returning the truck so he checks the gas gauge and I told him to deduct the gas from the miles that I did not use he told me I owed them $30 I'm like how is that so the worker responds that uhaul charges $5 a gallon for gas and printed on my receipt that the gas charge was an additional $45 how the hell did that happen so I didn't have the money and had to go to the bank to get the money and I paid them but was in disgust at the customer service at the location im not using uhaul any more!

Jackie F.Actually the interior was clean, but they could have cleaned the windshield, especially on the inside. Also, would have been nice if they told me the key didn't open the driver side door. Spent three days getting in and climbing over seats to get to driver's side. Also would have been good if someone went over the dashboard switches and buttons. Mostly standard, but GM is much different than my car. Guy who checked me in on the return refused to touch the truck until I unlocked the driver side door -- he wasn't going to climb over the seats. Then he just got in and drove off, never thanking me for using U-Haul. So an F on customer service.

My reservation was correct and the truck was clean, with gas and ready to go. Everyone was very pleasant, the manager remembered me from past rentals, and he was very efficient in getting me on the road! Will definitely use this location again! Totally impressed!

eric W.When returning van, girl who serviced me couldn't print receipts or give me total amount to of transaction, then another worker pulled up receipt fir me to see, the lady wasn't able to explain what was happening because she couldn't access the information,then your vehicle didn't register miles for me to compute, not best experience I've had with Uhaul I felt as though I was being over charged because if several factors, no receipt, the woman working couldn't access the account information, it was not a hood experience at this particular location.
