I rented a motorcycle trailer for the weekend and experienced a flat tire as the trailer sat for a day. This was not a problem as I had a tire pump, but when I called the dealership on Sunday at 4:12 pm to let them know not to re-rent the trailer on Monday as the tire was going flat, I could barely get the young man on the phone to reply to my discussion. He could have cared less. This dealership has always had top notch service and I enjoy the people there a lot, a good bunch, but it goes to show how one employee who does not care can cause damage to a hard earned reputation. Due to the high volume of customers we did not receive the Truck we had requested. No one from U-haul called ahead of time to let us know and we could not get through ourselves to speak with someone. We requested a 17' truck and all that was available was the largest 26' truck or a cargo van. Driving through the streets of downtown Halifax with a truck of that size is just not feasible. I suggest adding more trucks to your fleet in the 10-17' range. The cargo van ended up being only $10 cheaper than the 26' truck, AND we were only allowed to have it for 3.5 hrs, not a full day, as someone else had it booked for 1pm! We did not receive our $50 discount which your website promises if the vehicle we booked is not there for us. All in all not the best uhaul experience we've had. We'll be booking with another company that can meet their guarantee.

Try to be more accurate with milage quotes. I mentioned I would be travelling approximately 400 km and they input 250 on the quote. This lead to a bit of a shock when the final bill was due.

I think it is very unfair to have to pay for 4 days when I only needed to and on top of that to have to pay a drop off fee. The most insulting part was to be told it is supply and demand inland basically take it or leave it. I would look for another transport method if I moved again.

When they call to confirm pick up and drop off, and the pickup location and drop off location changes. They should be updating the drop off location on file. I was told over the phone to drop it off at 5280 Green Street, South End of Halifax which was a block over from where I was, instead of dropping it off in Dartmouth. So based on that information I changed plans because the drop off was closer. When I called the 1-800 number they said I could not drop it off in Halifax because it was full. So therefore I had to waste an hour of my time traveling to Dartmouth and rearrange all my plans because of this. I think next time if they verbally confirm over the phone the pick up and drop off location, they should update my file. I lost a lot of time and cost me more money because of this. Other than that everything was fine.

Check the truck for mechanical issues the truck aircondioner did not work witch made the 1800km trip more unpleasant then it needed to be. Also uhaul called the day before to find out when i would be in to pick up the truck but when i arrived the truck was not ready.

The manager was incredibly rude. We are upgraded to a 26 ft truck and not informed until the day before. She was rude when we inquired about other options. When we mentioned the increase in gas costs she denied the possibility was condescending until I was able to explain the obvious increase in gas cost an increase of 9feet will cost. By the time we finally got what we needed she had kept us there over an hour longer than we expected and has left us swearing off U Haul.

Picking up the Uhaul trailer was quite disorganized. Waited unnecessary lengths of time for trailer hook-up and paper work afterwards. Drop of however was excellent and very quick.

We rented a 5 x 8 trailer on two occasions at the end of August to move daughter to St. F. X. First was August 23rd - at which time employee of UHaul installed our ball mount for us. We had no problem on that day. The next Tuesday August 30th we went back to same location - we had left the ball mount on, had not removed it or touched it since the 23rd - very busy day as the busy university move in week. Employee of UHaul hooked up the trailer for us. Drove to Antigonish,unloaded and started to drive back. Just before we hit the divided section of the 104 my daughter said there was something wrong with the trailer. It was swinging back and forth. My husband pulled off the highway and the only thing holding the trailer to the car was the chains. The pin mechanism holding the ball mount into hitch mount was gone. We were all quite shaken up thinking of the what if's. We unchained the trailer and my husband drove to New Glasgow to buy new pin mechanism, while we stayed with the trailer on side of highway. When we got back to UHaul, and my husband explained what happened, we did not like how "lightly" it was taken by CSR we dealt with. The trailer could have swung into oncoming traffic and killed some one. Or it could have tipped forcing our car off the road and possibly injuring/killing one of us. We do believe that the second day of pick up, with it so busy (we had to wait almost an hour to get to the counter for service, with a reservation), that somehow this trailer was not hooked up right. We have not had any issues until this day

when I went in to book, there were numerous people waiting to book or pick up or return. It happened that at that time, for whatever reason, there was only 1 gentleman available working the desk. They definitely needed a few extras to help him out until the rush was over.

We reserved a 10 foot truck and where told when we went to pick it up that the were told that that we had been upgraded to at 15 foot truck. When I said that was not what we rented the girl behind the counter became defensive and told me she told me that when we talked the day before. I actually apologized because I could not remember hearing that in our conversation. We were moving our son from Halifax to St. John's and only needed something that would move a bedroom. We explained to them that we did not need the 15 foot and would have to pay extra to take that on the ferry - I did mention that a van would better suit our needs but understand they are only for local rental. The manager said we could take a van to Newfoundland but dictated where we needed to drop the vehicle off (even though we had already said where it was most convenient for us to drop it off. Thank goodness it was the same location). After working all day and going to pick up the uhaul - when we got home we saw there was a message on our answering machine telling us we were upgraded to a 15 foot truck. I was upset because the girl at uhaul had made me believe (even though I couldn't remember)} that she had discussed this with me and I apologized for not hearing it. I will take responsibility for something I am responsible for but this was beyond!! She made me feel guilty and stupid for not remembering a conversation we never had!! This is not the first time we have had issues with uhaul. When we were moving our son from Sussuex to St. John NB we rented a uhaul but were told the day before it was not possible (cancelled. We rented a pick up instead and had to do 3 trips - 1 hour return - in order to move him) If there was someone else we could rent from we would do it in a heart beat because we truly believe that people are honest but when we rent a vehicle from uhaul they really don't think that what we rent we really need and end up making us jump through hoops or finding alternated rental options at the 11th hour. I have never recommended uhaul to any of my friends.

I believe the vehicle I had needed a tune up. For a v8 engine it had no pull on a hill no matter how hard i pressed the gas pedal. engine seemed to labour.

Just have all the representatives have access to the same information, I was told different prices, even when I can drop off the van, I had it for 7 days originally but kept it for 11, but the day it was due back was different depending on who I spoke to, confusion when I returned it over whether it was a return or pickup which wasted a lot of my time. I also think keeping a vehicle 11 days, AND paying $.49 per mile is ridiculous, but overall I tried sticking to 1 rep who was amazing, and I found the experience to be one I am definitely willing to do again for my next event. I am extremely happy with the entire experience, it was a great piece of equipment, it got returned cleaner than I got it, (was charged a $8 fuel charge even tho I know it was filled to same level), not worried about that tho. Again, would and will definitely be using the same location and business for all future needs. I have been using these guys for about 20 years whenever I needed something bigger than a car/truck... Only ever had 1 bad experience in all that time, so I do recommend them to many other of my contacts. Thanks UHAUL team...

The paperwork is painfully slow. It only took a few minutes to attach the trailer but half an hour waiting for the paperwork even after all the time spent on line the night before! Your map has four locations in Halifax which would have been more convenient but none had trailers.

My reservation was changed without notice and made my moving day more stressful. It was not possible to compromise on the day of the rental because there were no leftover/buffer trucks available to fill in for errors like these. The clerk told me contact was probably attempted and did not care that I had received no such warning. He did politely inform me that if I was late I would be charged $300.00. I was cautious to reserve with uhaul, and my caution has been justified. It's worth the extra money to rent elsewhere.

They changed the truck I requested from 15 to 20 feet, I had 2000 kms to drive and did not want the 20 foot. Their service guy was good and arranged for a 17 foot, though it was at the cost of another customer. Blankets were filthy and stunk, they had no hand truck and gave me a rusty old appliance hauler. Truck was fair, but brutal on gas. There is always good and bad but I was not too impressed.

Dartmouth location was not the most convenient for me, the rep on the phone told me that my friend and driver who came to pick up the truck would only need his drivers license on him. She neglected to mention he would also need my Visa card with him over the phone, he had to bus for an hour to get to the location and was almost turned away when he got there. It took several calls to get the rep he felt with to speak with me on the phone and take my payment by phone. Otherwise I was happy with the service.

The dome light in the back didn't work and I moved at night, ha to use cell phones for light and then the battery was dead when we were done even though we didn't use the broken light. Then thy over charge me or fuel when thy did the check in

Couldn't ask for better service. Stood in line for a few minutes while another customer was being served but when I got to the counter, it was my appointment time. I told the clerk I was going to wait for the hitch to be installed (online it stated one should leave the car for 3 hours, but I was told it would only take 30 minutes). Shown the waiting room upstairs (which seemed a bit like a staff lunch room, and was in a off limits area with a key pad to access it) and 20 minutes later I was told me that the hitch was installed and I was on my way. Very impressed. One thing that took me back when I arrived at the facility though was the congestion in the parking lot. At that time there were two U-Haul vehicles parked in the laneway which made getting in to park my car very challenging. I drove between two vehicles and I found a spot in front of some U-Haul trucks. I walked to the front door and saw that here had been a parking space free but it hadn't been accessible to me at the time. When I left, the lot seemed to have cleared of the congestion. Cost of hitch, taxes in and installed was less than the cost of the hitch alone at Canadian Tire, so I was happy about that (saved $10 by booking online as well)

30 minutes wait to get to the counter. Thankfully I had a reservation. Ahead of me was a guy without one that waited for nothing, and behind me was a guy buying boxes. When it's busy I'd recommend dedicating lines to those with reservations and a separate one for simple transactions / inquiries.

My reservation was messed up in the system, saying it had been changed to a cargo van. I had my receipt as proof of my reservation, so I was given a 10' truck as ordered, but was forced to go from a 5 hour reservation to 2.5. This was a major inconvenience and I was treated as if I was being done a favor for actually getting the 10' truck. In my opinion, it was poorly handled and I will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

Picked the truck at 3:00 pm and was tole that I had to bring it by 7:00am..I wish I could return it past 7 am. Had to wake up at 5:30 am, drive 1 hr 15 minutes to return it...Not location issue but conditional rental restriction at that busy time...

The truck was not safe to drive,had to be boosted twice because it wouldn't start,steering and brake were ineffective and downright dangerous.If I had more time I would have had the police do a roadside inspection,where the would have most certainly have towed the truck away as it was not safe to drive.I have been a class 1 driver for over 35 years.The truck I rented will hurt someone if it is not removed from service.

The associate (female )behind the counter was rude and unhelpful. Had to pass me to another associate because she didn't know what to do. Payment was a hassle. I have used u-haul before with no problems. This last experience was the worst. Might have been a bad day or something.

Make sure that the truck is in good working order.The truck had smoke coming out from underneath of it.The truck was hard to start and ran very rough.The truck was very old .I run a moving company and need good quality trucks.My customers deserve that much.

Im frustrated with the service I received. I only rented an appliance trolly amd a furniture trolly. $17 plus tx. I was simply told to drop them off on Sunday. I rented them Saturday morning. I had no idea you were open before noon and was not told a specific time for drop off. So I returned them when I had a free few minutes around 3pm assuming I had till close the next day. I was charged for two days. I did not need them for that long and prepaid for one day. This was not explained and I do not think I should have to pay for two days as a result. Regards Cindy

When leaving phone messages make sure you speak slowly when giving your phone no. and repeat it. Given your phone number is no longer in the yellow pages, and I'm tired of doing the hard work to contact you, it is important!! Wireless system upstairs didn't work and 1.5 hours to do the work - I was charged for 2 hours of installation. I don't think that's fair. Otherwise thank you for the excellent service on the things that are most important - hitch installation.

Make sure trucks are up to proper mechanical standards. The air conditioning failed. Front steering was very sloppy, loose, and extremely hard time to keep truck on road. Truck was clean.

Reliable computer system, when picking up the vehicle and returning both times the computer system was down, Not a major problem as the staff at that location are very friendly and helpful, even with the computers down and having to do things the long way it was still a good experience.

Try make this short. I called for a estimate for a hitch gave my info and received a few calls over a few week span and I told them I would call when I was ready. I then called and talked to a guy there to find out the lady who took my info didn't even have the model of my car right and was going to put on the wrong hitch, so we got that fixed he gave me my new quote said they had them in so I made my appointment got the confirmation of my appointment it was all good. It was for 08/09/2016 at 1:00 pm. I took the afternoon off work to get this done so I showed up for them to tell me they didn't have one and then said my appointment was not until next week,and also they had a broken hitch that they needed parts for. I showed them my quote and appointment that I had and they still told me I was wrong they didn't update. So what I think they broke a hitch used mine and didn't have time to replace it with a new one and then tried to tell me I had it wrong. So would I and will I tell anybody to go there, no way in hell it was the the worst customer services I think I ever had I didn't even get a sorry Sir we messed up.

The one way drop off at the other end in Shediac New Brunswick was the problem with this move.Your outlet there after droping it off on a sunday charged more then they should have.My poor wife aa exhausted as she was swept and cleaned that truck thoroughly before droping off the keys.He charged us for more sweeping today when he opened and did his check. We're extremely displeased.He even charged more like $25 for more gas that we shoiuldn't of had to pay for, the tank was put at the same level of gas as it had when we picked it up, He also said we were over on kilometers 60 and our whole trip in the allowable 371 kilometers wasn't over at all, over billed and are disputing this further with your customer service people.I'll never leave a drop ever again with out being present with your outlet there. He's taking money out of my pocket.Got two more trips of the same nature coming up, if this doesn't get rectified I'll be tsking my business somewhere else,my honesty and cleanliness has been insalted by these crazy extra costs that I have no control over.My regards Darrell Graham

I had booked the vehicle to have a trailer hitch. Who I arrived at my destination, I realized it was not installed. It was a big inconvenience which added to my mileage and driving time. A check list for staff to review prior to leaving the site for special items would be ideal.

My only complaint is the headlights, were too dim and the bright headlights appeared to be off focus, pointing up too high. Otherwises, your staff at both location, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and Ontario were excellent. They were very helpful, respectful and took the time to make certain that you were clear and understood all information. They kept you updated and was always willing to listen to you and answer your questions. I was very pleased with the service, at all times. I would recommend U-Haul to anyone… Please keep up the great service. Thanks to all the staff and making my moving a whole easier …

As I am in the service industry I do not understand why words like No or can't are used. Unless it breaks the Law(government) so Here is my concern. The facility in Dartmouth is above average. It can get tight moving around it but the staff are Great. call center or head office does not understand customer service. Had originally booked the transport to be picked up in Moncton on Thursday . Got a call on the Wednesday 3:30 pm saying not able to as dropped in shediac. Good 30 minutes one way out of my way. I was speaking to Ryan explained little bit out of the way in a hour round trip and fuel to get it etc.this is more than a little then figured Dartmouth as I live close by. No problem 24 hours pick it up at 4 has to be back by four. I said can we arrange that if running late no extra fee he said NO. I am in the service business and unless it is going to break a Law as my job entails laws that effect my job daily I would do as head office asks of me. All I wanted was him to make sure no issue with being late an hour two max. He said I can't and no . Yes each location is run sperately but head office should be able to make a customer happy. Team in Dartmouth great experience and I rent allot from uhaul and it is the team in dartmouth and the locations that make the difference not the call centre as they are not on the ground in front of the customer I guess easier to say the No or Can't. Simple fix if you ask me note on reservation and a call to the centre to explain to them . If was last unit and worried about it being late even a call to me half way into day how is the time looking and I would have been able to say on time or running behind an hour.. WIll I rent again yes as the team in Dartmouth is great. Do I look forward to call from the call centre I do not.

I had a fabulous experience. The staff were very knowledgeable, courteous and polite. They ensured that I fully understood my contract and they answered all my questions to my satisfaction. The attendant who gave me the Van also ensured that I had no questions and he also verified that I understood the rental agreement.

Well my vehicle was suppose to have a trailer hitch and wiring done to it....After payment was given I checked over my vehicle and the wiring was not done buy I was charged for it .I am not impressed.I now have to make other arrangements to drop my vehicle back off to have work done to it that I already had paid for..Like I said I am not impressed at all...I hope money will be returned to me for this....I would not recommend u haul to anyone...I expect a call to accommodate my in convince to have the wiring completed and money back.

Computer terminal that counter staff was using didn't work / very slow . What usually take 5 min or less took aprox 15 minutes. Slowed down my start up , but also had other customers waiting in line frustrated. Outside guy hooked me up quickly and I was on my way. Overall a good experience, except for the counter delay

Wow! Drop off was so easy even with the long line. There was an issue in another line because a truck had not been returned (sorry about the eavesdropping). I mentioned that he should let them have the truck I was returning and he did. Problem solved!

Every single thing I put down for my reservation I did not get. In the end I had to drive outside of my city Halifax over to another city Dartmouth to get a size van that I didn't originally ask for. Then I had to pay the additional km of driving out to Dartmouth and back to Halifax twice.. Adding $20 to the cost of my rental, a toll fee and significantly limiting the time I had for a move by taking 1 hour of my rental time to driving alone. Making it hardly even worth it. I couldn't complete what I needed to in the time I had rented it because of the driving. I would not recommend this. I understand there are only limited amounts of trucks available but some Kms should be offered to people who are moved to pick up at a drastically farther location.

When I showed up for my pick-up the clerk could not find my reservation in my name. I said oh I must be at 560 Windmill Road. The clerk told me that was don the road. When I found 560 I discovered it was a lighting shop. Went back to original location the clerk checked my name again and had no luck and then check using my phone number and my reservation was found. When I made the reservation the booking agent spelled my name wrong. I know they were extremely busy however; 1. I found there was no customer service because they could have done more initially to find my reservation. 2. They could have wait wait a minute there is no U-Haul at 56 Windmill Road. Other than that it was a great U-Haul experience.

The only thing I'd suggest is when someone calls Uhaul to boom a vehicle, they should ensure that the vehicle is at the location they told you. I lucked out yesterday, as I went to pick up a 15' truck, but when I arrived the guys went out back and told me we don't have any 15' trucks, all we deal with are vans. So I went to the nearest uhaul, which was just up the road, and lucked out with getting the last available truck on the lot. I had a guy booked to help me unload the stuff I purchased, and had I not have had a vehicle, I would have wasted money. Luckily this uhaul company was really good, and walked me through everything.

I was not very happy with my booking arrangements. I booked on line the first of July for July 30 for a 17 ft truck, pick up for 9am and for 12 hours. My request was confirmed by e-mail. 10 days before pick up I received a phone call from your windmill road location (woman by the name of Taylor) telling me I couldn't have the truck for 12 hours but I could have it 6 hours only or pick it up Fri 29 at 6:30 pm and return it on Sat. 30 at noon. Was I happy about my moving arrangements because of what u-haul wanted and the hell with me.....NO

We had to make 3 trips in to the city.first we booked a 26ft told her we needed it from 6pm-6pm 24hrs we get there And she had us returning it at 6am cause it was rented for 7am so we waisted a trip all the way to the city.went home.called back to see if there were anything else yes we have a cargo van So we decided on that.she took my credit card number and i asked do i need to be there with my card when the driver picks it up.she said no we have your number and nothing will be villed til you return the van....he srove all the way back in to the city to get the cargo van and once again "oh we need the actual card" AFTER WE DISCUSSED THIS ON THE PHONE".So he came all the way back out of the city once again with no van or truck.We had to be there first thing in the morning to get the friggin van cause of all the running around and vurned a full tank of gas in my car just to have to pay 119. For a friggin cargo van.im a single mother trying to make ends meet and i waised a whole 2 weeks of gas getting back and forth to work just to not get a truck and have to move with a cargo van.Im not happy and will not be returning.

The service was good but the hood would not lock. I was on the highway and the hood was rattling so I stopped and tryed to lock close the hood all the way but it would not work. Not sate to drive. When I returned the van I informed the guy that checked me in about the hood. He said he knew the hood latch did not work. So I said that was not safe to drive. He stated yah they should not booked this van out. But yet he knew the GD van was unsafe and still rented it to me. What's up with that. If the hood had to come up my girl friend and I could of had a serious accident. It seemed to me that the people I talked to about the van was not interested in what I had to say. Not very professional.

This transaction went smoothly but only because I selected the option of billing the credit card I made the reservation with. On a PREVIOUS transaction, about 2 weeks ago, the inside staff spent almost 20 minutes trying to charge my debit card. I could however see them cancelling the transaction. Turns out they were too lazy to process the refund to my credit card, despite telling me when I picked up the car that there would be no charges on the card until I returned the vehicle. The credit card company quite clearly showed the date and the time of the transaction on the day I picked up the vehicle. The staff should have just said they had already charged the card instead of wasting my time pretending the debit machine was not working. Quite clearly it was, for the customer before and the customer right after me and there was no problem with my card!!!!

I think you could improve upon getting people their vehicles quicker by having more than one counter person. He is very good but because of the length of protocol he has to follow it takes a bit of time. Most people want to get moving so waiting to get checked through needs to be a quicker process.

The trailer we got was pretty banged up and the rear door leaked which got some of the items wet. I'm sure this particular trailer was chosen because it likely wouldn't be coming back as this was a one way rental. However, since we were driving such a far distance it would have been nice to have a trailer that didn't leak!!

I was hoping to pick up from a closer point (this was a 20km round trip). I spent more time travelling from the UHaul place than between my old and new homes. The branch was clean and the staff good. I'd have preferred not to have had to leave my car on a dark sideroad (and later pick it up on the dark side road!) The video for check in doesn't play on all cell phone browsers and sitting in a (dark) parking lot trying to figure it out is not ideal. Simple, written instructs are better.

I received a call from U-Haul two days before I was supposed to move changing the location of where I was to pick up my truck. It was 20 minutes further away than where I was moving from/to (which were both only 5 minutes max from the location I initially booked it) and also told me that I no longer had the truck for 24 hours, but only 19 (when you're picking up a truck at 5pm, returning it at 12 noon the next day is harder to do than 5pm when your plans and helpers were already booked). They told me on the phone that the person who had the U-Haul booked before me, extended their hours with it so that bumped me out of that location. I was very unimpressed as this was highly inconvenient not only for my time but also my wallet as the gas mileage was more. They gave me a $0.20 discount on the mileage but that was it. The location I actually picked the truck up from were great to deal with but I am not impressed with the service beforehand. 2 days notice is not nearly enough time when ALL of my moving plans became unhinged. My movers that I booked for the next morning to move me were not available the night I picked up the truck so I had to get some family members to help. The whole experience was just poorly dealt with. My suggestion for all future bookings? Don't allow someone to extend the hours with a truck if someone is booked after them without either a) confirming with the next person it's okay or not or b) making the original booker go to the other location instead since they are the ones being the inconvenience.

The size I RESERVED was not available. Uhaul bumped me to a larger size. A larger size is not helpful, especially when driving a very long distance. It was too long. And it cost more in gas. We had way too much space. When I was about to drive off with the truck at the pickup location, the employees said it was ready to go and that all the packing supplies were in the back of the truck. I had them check it just in case. Good thing because the truck was empty. Had to wait for them to get the supplies. After speaking with friends and family about my experience, they all told me their bad experiences with uhaul as well. I'm really annoyed with you. And I was refused that $50 compensation that you supposedly guarantee for your fuck ups.

There isn't anything wrong with this location but I had reserved a truck at the cole Harbour location but when I went there the store was closed. After calling Uhaul, I was told that I was supposed to pick up the truck at Windmilll. Nobody ever mentioned this to us. We had people showing up to help us and had to make them wait while we scrambled to the new location to pick up the truck. We waisted an hour of everybody's time. No compensation was given even after explaining that the reason we picked the first location was because it was close to where we live. Same thing happened last year when we used Uhaul. Not impressed at all!!!!!

The price that I was quoted on the phone did not match the price that was given to me at the pickup location. They also did not have the correct information and it kept changing time and time again.....I was quoted $160.00 for a rental of 3 days...it was supposed to include the insurance for that time according to the gentleman I spoke to on the phone. When I went to pickup my vehicle, it was for 4 days and the cost was almost double, even when the dates were changed to correctly show 3 days the cost was more then a hundred dollars over what I was quoted. This seems to be a regular occurrence....which is becoming more and more understandable with your customers being more and more upset and inconvenienced at the time delays of straightening out their orders. When I spoke to the one who made the reservation, I stipulated several times that my booking was for June 30th pickup at 6:30pm and returning July 3rd 6:30pm...for a total of 3 days, I also insisted that the insurance be added in the price quote...and was told it would be at 15.00 per day for a total of 45.00 added to my 19.99 per day for the rental and the 250km I was quoted 160.00 plus tax...What I ended up paying was 244.06 there is quite a difference in cost....and the whole rental was being done for a charity fundraising event. Also the van that we got was not cleaned before we picked it up....and I wanted that notated in the contract but it wasn't.

The truck is quite old and very basic. I was driving all the way from Nova Scotia to Maryland, towing a car - the truck didn't have a CD player and had a very hard time making it up hills (no matter what gear) - Everything well well but it would've been helpful to have a better truck. Otherwise, service was great, etc.

Inspect the trailer before you put a sticker on it saying it's I species and give it to a customer. The left tire was completely warn out and bald. There was no way I was going to make it across the country like that. Had to wait 4 hours for uhaul to fix it and I was in my driveway, what if I was broke down on the highway. Then I was told I had to bring the broken tire back to U-Haul myself, which I didn't do. The trailer itself looked like it was 25 years old and was in really rough shape and should be taken out of service.

I thought the daily rental always used to included some mileage. We rented a 10' van for 2 days to move, and the cost ended up being a lot more than I was expecting when we brought it back. I guess I didn't explore my options well enough, it would have been cheaper to use a different company now that I know this. For some reason I thought you only got charged per km, after you had passed a certain number of km's. Ended up not being such a great deal. Disappointed.

booked online, early check in online, still waited 20mins in line to go out and get the trailer hooked up, wait another 40mins to repeat everything i did on line, return same thing, wait at counter, go out with guy wait at counter again. over an hour to pick up and 40mins to drop off, .....

This location is always busy and understaffed. Expect a 30-45 min wait before you leave with equipment. I've rented from here numerous times and always regret it. Go to a neighbourhood dealer instead if you can.

Fix the trucks or get some real mechanics there to fix them for you because the truck was flooding with gas and used $36 for only 45kms. The wiring for light in the back cab wouldn't work and would only turn on for a second and then shut back off so I had to move my whole house in darkness because the light wouldn't work. I won't be recommending your trucks to anyone in Dartmouth

Would like a little faster service for when the vehicle is returned. I spent almost a half hour waiting to leave. I arrived around 3:30pm,The inspection of the vehicle only took a minute ( he checked the gas, checked no damage, checked it was clean and checked the mileage and wrote it up in a flash)..but waiting for service was long, I was there with only one other customer.

Staff are always in too much of a hurry or understaffed. They could not answer simple questions with regard to insurance and in fact gave wrong information. They did not go over the truck with us and as this was my first time driving this big a truck it would have been very helpful. They may have picked up the problem with the steering and brakes because their pre check did not. We ended up driving half the way to California with faulty steering and breaks until they failed completely in Tera Haute. The remaining 2000 miles we were extremly nervous about the equipment and never trusted it again. All in all a terrible experence and still horrible trying to deal with uhaul regarding the trip. 0 out of 100 for maintenance - 0 out of 100 for customer service.

The van smelt so bad inside! We had to drive with the window down for the entire time we add the van. I think the previous person had animals in the vehicle and the animals must have urinated in the back ! The smell caused both the wife and I to have headaches and feel sick to our stomach.

great service and very accommodating. Because I could only move into the new place late afternoon I couldn't keep the large truck for so long but then uhaul had a smaller van for me instead and let me keep it overnight at no extra charge as long as I returned it by 8am, which was great because we were moving untill 11pm Thanks for all the help

I was not informed by the u-haul staff of the road rules and restrictions for the rental I had. For instance, the bridge toll is more than it's standard fee and the U-haul cannot go across the MacDonald bridge (they said they usually give people a fine but thankfully they let me pass without one). Not pleased about this.

I booked an in town tailer. I was quoted online. Then was called to say none was available at the location so the clerk suggested I pick one up on my way the next day and just do a one way as it would be cheaper but it turned out much more expensive. The clerk in Dartmouth reduced the price for me but not to the point I was originally displayed. To improve next time I would like to be told the truth.
