Moving Helpers are individuals or small businesses who offer their labor services on our Marketplace, many of which specialize in loading and unloading U-Haul truck rentals and U-Box® containers.
Movers were prompt and worked hard until all my furniture was safely place in my POD. They took their time in making sure they could maximize the space while assuring my furniture would not be damaged. Definitely using them when we load out the containers once my house is ready for move in.
There was a miscommunication about the number of movers needed, and I had to call myself to confirm availability because no one contacted me after booking through U-Haul. While I did receive a refund for the third mover who never showed up, the actual moving experience was very disappointing. The owner, Big Mike, arrived late and was dismissive throughout the move. He ignored instructions about which items not to load, resulting in damage. Boxes clearly marked FRAGILE had heavier boxes stacked on top of them despite my requests not to do so. Some belongings were also left out in the rain, and the next day I found a box containing books and laptops still sitting outside. When I reminded Mike to be careful with the fragile boxes, he told me, Don't tell me how to do my job and get back to work! I found that incredibly unprofessional. Professional movers should listen to customers and handle belongings with care. Unfortunately, that was not my experience, and I would not hire again.
Very slow packing as it was already staged to load with exception of three large pieces of furniture. Nice guys, just disappointed in loading and care of items. First time in all my moves (self & others) that I spent so much time overseeing process.
