Well built and designed for the most part. The tire cups or shoes will barely fit fat tire bikes, but they will work. Also, the handlebars on the bike stored to the inside will strike the back of the vehicle as it bounces around during travel. Tightening down very hard on the strap and retainer bar minimizes the contact, but does not eliminate it. I added a cargo strap securing the bikes together to eliminate this issue. Overall, it works for our purposes.
Will the rack securely hold an ebike with no crossbar (formerly "women's style" frame)?
Hello Roger, The Swagman | ESCAPEE can carry your precious (and heavier) eBike with all the care it deserves, as well as is RV Approved!
Does the Swagman Escapee bike rack tilt for use with SUV's with a rear cargo door?
Hi, Curt! The Swagman Escapee RV 2 bike rack does not have a tilt function since it is designed for use with RVs. Please see our wide selection of bike racks for a multitude of options equipped with tilt functionality that allows for rear cargo access. Thank you!
Is the Escapee in stock at the Moscow, ID U-Haul store location or does it need to be ordered and shipped .... and how long would that take if I had to order one?
Hi, Curt! The Swagman Escapee RV 2 bike rack is not available at a U-Haul center in your area. If you were to order it online with standard shipping it would take about 4 business days to arrive. I hope that is helpful!
