What is the difference between this (EX) rack and the regular Saris Freedom 2 rack? Is it simply the tilt mechanism?

–Paul 4/5/2018 10:33:12 AM

Hey, Paul! There are two main differences between the standard and EX Saris models. First, the EX version has a tilting feature that allows you to tilt the rack up against the vehicle when not in use. Second, the EX also has universal wheel trays that will support tires up to 4 inches wide. I hope that is helpful!

How far away from the rear doors of a van can the rack (center post?) be tilted without a bicycle in the rack? I need to determine if I will have access to the 2 rear doors of the van

–Ken 3/16/2018 3:13:48 PM

Hi, Ken! The Saris Freedom EX 2 bike rack has a center post that can be stored in a fold-down position, laying flat with the bike platform when not in use. I hope that is helpful!

I think this is the wrong manual for this rack. It's not a SuperClamp style.

Hello, Bob! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The correct manual has been added to the page. Thank you!
