A CURT RV hitch is your gateway to maximizing the potential of your motorhome. It's the essential accessory to allow dinghy towing with a set of tow bars, installing a ball mount to tow a trailer, increasing storage space with a cargo carrier and much more. This CURT RV hitch is engineered with a universal, adjustable design to fit a wide variety of applications. It is built with a three-piece frame. The side plates are able to move side to side along the main body of the hitch, allowing it to be tweaked to the exact width needed. This particular RV hitch is able to fit frames up to 51" wide. It also has a 2" drop built into the frame, making it especially suited for larger RVs that ride high off the ground. With the side plates in the correct position, they secure bolt into place using the included mounting hardware. Having a trailer hitch on the back of your RV is one of the most useful investments you can make to improve your camping experience. This motorhome hitch comes with a standard 2" x 2" receiver tube, allowing it to accept any towing accessories with a 2" shank. A 2" ball mount can be installed to enable the RV to tow a variety of trailers such as a boat trailer, ATV hauler, utility trailer or even a popup camper. A tow bar can also attached, allowing you to bring your vehicle along for the adventure. This CURT RV camper hitch comes with a gross trailer weight rating of 5,000 lbs. and a tongue weight rating of 500 lbs. This gives it the strength necessary to tow several different types of trailers as well as a variety of vehicles for dinghy towing (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). This RV hitch is also rated for use with a weight distribution hitch, allowing for a WD rating of 6,000 lbs. and a WDTW rating of 600 lbs. To ensure dependable safety out on the road, all CURT RV hitches have been tested, in-house, at our Detroit engineering and testing facility. We test every trailer hitch model to strict SAE J684 standards, giving you confidence for the road ahead and allowing you to enjoy your journey worry-free. CURT RV hitches also come with welded safety chain loops, providing a solid anchoring point for hooking up proper safety chains. Like all CURT custom hitches, our RV trailer hitches are constructed right here in the USA for quality you can rely on (may include imported hardware). Our hitches are engineered, fabricated, welded, finished and tested in America. This gives us direct control over the quality of the product. Each CURT RV hitch is finished with our unique co-cured finishing process. First, the hitches are fully immersed in a liquid A-coat, coating the hitch inside and out. Then, a durable black powder coat is applied and is cured together with the A-coat, resulting in a highly protective and long-lasting finish. It offers industry-leading rust, chip and UV resistance.
