Is a 2 1/4 ball ok to use?
Hi, Ronald! A hitch ball diameter must match the trailer coupler size. The ball shank length should be long enough to show at least one thread after proper torque. The hitch ball shank diameter should match the ball mount hole diameter. Reducer kits such as the 53921 can be used to reduce a 1" ball mount hole diameter to 3/4" or a 1-1/4" ball mount hole diameter to 1". I hope that's helpful!
