Day 4 of our #uhaulroadtrip was a long one, and our final day was going to be a long one as well. We woke up a little bit late in Albuquerque, and as a fan of the show Breaking Bad, I knew where I wanted to go. Our first stop of the day was Walter White’s house from Breaking Bad. (For more Breaking Bad love, I wrote a post on The Complete Breaking Bad Halloween<\/a> a while ago.)<\/p>\n

After that we made a quick stop and said hello to our friends at U-Haul Moving and Storage of Rio Rancho<\/a> right across the street from the Intel plant. They gave us some tips for moving to New Mexico that we will share in a blog post with you later. We thanked them for all of their tips and made our way to Interstate 40, which in part follows in the footsteps of Historic Route 66.<\/p>\n

From Albuquerque the #uhaulroardtrip made its\u00a0way through the beautiful red bluffs of New Mexico towards the Arizona border and home. Crossing into Arizona, we were still hours away from the end of our trip, and yet we now once again felt close to home. Our first stop in Arizona was the Painted Desert<\/a>. It was breathtaking, particularly with a dark monsoon storm in the background.<\/p>\n

We found ourselves a bit hungry, having not had lunch and set our sites on La Posada<\/a>, a beautiful historic train lodge, restaurant and gallery in Winslow, Arizona. This lodge is a reminder of the history of travel in the Grand Canyon state. People would take the train in to Arizona and disembark in Winslow on their way to see the Grand Canyon. It is a beutiful place to stop. Of course we also had to go do some “standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona” before we headed out.<\/p>\n

Leaving behind Route 66, we headed south and the grasses and shrubs slowly gave way to taller and taller pines on Arizona’s Mogollon Rim. The sun started to go down around this point and we felt that the beautiful sunset we saw was Arizona’s way of welcoming up back and we wrapped up our road trip. It was completely dark as we entered the Sonoran Desert that Sperry and I call home. At around 10pm we pulled up to U-Haul Headquarters in Phoenix.<\/p>\n

Where Will We Go Next?<\/h3>\n

This #uhaulroadtip has come\u00a0to an end, so the answer for Sperry and myself is “home.” For the U-Haul camper trailer? The answer is it is going to go to the U-Haul Technical Center to\u00a0get itself cleaned up and fixed up a bit. Keep your eyes open on our #uhaulroadtrip page<\/a> for more information.
