There are a lot of reasons for people to want to move. You might be\u00a0considering a new job, trying to get closer to family, or simply looking for a change. No matter how many reasons you have or how strong they are, it’s sometimes hard to know when it’s exactly the right time to move. If you’re uncertain whether now is that\u00a0time, here are a few signs you should move this summer.<\/p>\n

1. Perfect Weather<\/strong><\/p>\n

In most parts of the country, summer offers the most temperate weather. There’s no snow, rain is lighter and it’s generally warmer. This makes packing, loading up a truck<\/a> and driving much easier all around.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0No School<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you still have young children at home, pulling them out of school and enrolling them mid-year somewhere else can be\u00a0hard on them\u00a0and a hassle for you. If you are planning on moving with kids, there’s no better time than summer. The earlier in the summer the better, so kids\u00a0have a chance to adjust<\/a>\u00a0and even start making friends before school starts in the fall.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0Vacation\u00a0Opportunities<\/strong><\/p>\n

Summer is the best time of year to make the most of your move. Since the kids are out of school, you have the opportunity to\u00a0extend your trip a little longer and turn it into a vacation as well. Plus, if you give yourself time to relax during your trip, it can make it less stressful for you and more fun for your kids.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0Empty Nest<\/strong><\/p>\n

In contrast, does school being out not affect your plans anymore? If your children recently graduated and started to move into their own places, you may start to realize you have too much space. Before you consider whether to\u00a0convert your children\u2019s bedrooms into a craft\u00a0room or home office, you should also think about whether it would be more cost and time effective to downgrade to a smaller house. Even if you still have a lot of their stuff, there’s always storage<\/a>.<\/p>\n

5. Snowbird Preparation<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you do find yourself with an empty nest, and self-employed or retired, summer is the perfect time\u00a0to become a snowbird. Moving in the summer could get you out of the heat and into somewhere more comfortable for a few months. If you’re already somewhere cooler, summer is\u00a0a good time to get yourself set up somewhere that may be hot now, but won’t be snowy and cold come winter. That way\u00a0when winter does hit, you won’t have to worry about moving in the bad weather.<\/p>\n
