Thankfully, all of these changes will be positive in some way or another so long as you’re prepared for them.

Move Out of the Dorms

As a freshman, living in the dorms is so convenient. It’s an easy way to quickly make some new friends, you have a chance to become comfortable with your new campus and walk to classes and you don’t even need to cook for yourself! As a sophomore, consider moving into an apartment with some friends and experience a more adult way of living. This is a great way to become more responsible with bills and other household tasks. I also recommend a vehicle for your sophomore year. I’m glad I didn’t have one my freshman year as it forced me to get comfortable with my college campus and the local area. While living in an apartment however, having a personal vehicle makes doing errand runs so much easier and weekends much more adventurous.

Get Involved

It’s time to end your days as a social butterfly and be a little pickier with your friends. You’ve grown into yourself a little bit more and know what sort of people you want to keep in your life. Thankfully college has so many opportunities for meeting new people:

Greek Life

Charity

Clubs

Intramural Teams

Become a TA or Ra

Tutoring

Student Government

Get Serious

If you haven’t decided on a major yet, now is the time to do so.
