Reno<\/a> is \u201c<\/span>The Biggest Little City in the World<\/span><\/i>\u201d and is located in northern Nevada, about 50 miles from Lake Tahoe. <\/span>R<\/span>e<\/span>no<\/span> is the most populated city outside of the metropolitan Las Vegas area.<\/span><\/p>\n

With its entertaining nightlife and alluring casinos, it\u2019s no wonder you\u2019ve chosen Reno as your future home. But there\u2019s much more to this city than bright lights. Here\u2019s what\u2019s great about moving to Reno.<\/p>\n

Weather<\/h4>\n

Reno sees an average of 300 days of sunshine each year, but don\u2019t break out those shorts and t-shirts just yet. Most of Reno\u2019s rainfall occurs during winter and spring, with active thunderstorms from  April through October. You can expect a bit of snow during winter, as well.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re <\/span>moving during winter<\/span><\/a>, make sure to take safety precautions while driving your <\/span>moving truck<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reno\u2019s average high temperature is 92 degrees, with an average low of 25 degrees in December and January.<\/p>\n

Neighborhoods<\/h4>\n

According to <\/span>USA Today\u2019s 10 Best<\/span><\/a>, the best neighborhood in Reno is the Midtown District. This is an older neighborhood that is reemerging. Known for being hip and modern, it\u2019s chalked full of restaurants, coffee shops, tattoo parlors, and up-and-coming artists.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another popular neighborhood is Reno\u2019s Arts District. There\u2019s much more to Reno than just casinos. Just outside of the downtown area, the Arts District is a great place to get your feet wet. Enjoy some swimming, tubing or kayaking in the <\/span>Truckee Whitewater Park<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Economy<\/h4>\n

In addition to the many casino and entertainment venues in Reno, some of the city\u2019s top employers are the <\/span>Washoe County School District<\/span><\/a>, the <\/span>University of Nevada-Reno<\/span><\/a>, the <\/span>Renown Regional Medical Center<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Saint Mary\u2019s Regional Medical Center<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The top employing casinos in Reno are the Peppermill Reno, the Silver Legacy Resort and Casino, and the Atlantis Casino Resort and Spa.<\/p>\n
