But there\u2019s much more to this city than bright lights. Here\u2019s what\u2019s great about moving to Reno.<\/p>\n<h4>Weather<\/h4>\n<p>Reno sees an average of 300 days of sunshine each year, but don\u2019t break out those shorts and t-shirts just yet. Most of Reno\u2019s rainfall occurs during winter and spring, with active thunderstorms from &nbsp;April through October. This is an older neighborhood that is reemerging. Known for being hip and modern, it\u2019s chalked full of restaurants, coffee shops, tattoo parlors, and up-and-coming artists.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Another popular neighborhood is Reno\u2019s Arts District. There\u2019s much more to Reno than just casinos. Just outside of the downtown area, the Arts District is a great place to get your feet wet. Enjoy some swimming, tubing or kayaking in the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.reno.gov\/government\/departments\/parks-recreation-community-services\/parks-trails\/whitewater-park\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Truckee Whitewater Park<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>Economy<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In addition to the many casino and entertainment venues in Reno, some of the city\u2019s top employers are the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washoeschools.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Washoe County School District<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.unr.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">University of Nevada-Reno<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.renown.org\/find\/location\/renown_regional_medical_center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Renown Regional Medical Center<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.saintmarysreno.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Saint Mary\u2019s Regional Medical Center<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The top employing casinos in Reno are the Peppermill Reno, the Silver Legacy Resort and Casino, and the Atlantis Casino Resort and Spa.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/movinginsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/7506294830_70e70590f0_k.jpg\"><br \/>\n<\/a>(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/darronb\/7506294830\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">flickr:&nbsp;darronb\/via: cc<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Are you a Renoite?
