All those boxes won’t pack themselves! A packing timeline<\/a> will help you make sure it all gets done in a timely manner, with minimal stress. Take some time to evaluate which items can be packed ahead of time to minimize last minute preparations. Also be sure to pack a box for the first night in your new residence that has all the necessities such as toiletries.<\/p>\n

Research Which Size Truck You’ll Need<\/h3>\n

Since you’re just moving out of your parent’s house, it’s possible that you can get by with your own vehicle if you don’t have a lot of stuff to move. However, if your parents are letting you take furniture with you, or you have a decent amount of stuff, you’ll probably need a moving truck<\/a> or trailer<\/a> of some sort. Load Up on Cleaning Supplies and Other Household Necessities<\/h3>\n

Up until now, you’ve always been able to rely on using your parent’s supplies when you had to clean up the house. Now that you’re on your own, make sure you have everything you need to keep your residence clean and tidy. A broom, dustpan, vacuum cleaner, duster, gloves, window cleaner, degreaser, dishwashing soap, toilet brush, toilet bowl cleaner, and some rags should be a good start. You should also get some basic tools as well such as a screwdriver, hammer, scissors, pliers,\u00a0and a wrench.<\/p>\n
