It’s time to move to one of the highest ranked universities in the nation! \u00a0With nearly 15,000 students, Duke University is\u00a0located in Durham, North Carolina and occupies nearly 8,600 acres on three campuses. \u00a0Duke is a private research university that was founded in 1838, its motto being “Eruditio et Religio” <\/i>or “Knowledge and Faith.” <\/em>\u00a0Before starting your move, brush up on these tips!\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

On Campus<\/h3>\n

\"Duke<\/a>Duke University is divided into four areas<\/a>: West, East and Central Campuses, as well as the Medical Center. \u00a0Worried about getting around? \u00a0Don’t be. \u00a0There is a free bus service that transports students between all four areas.<\/p>\n

Housing is available at each of the three campuses. \u00a0First-year students<\/a> are assigned to the East Campus, where there are 14 co-ed houses. \u00a0Don’t be intimidated by the experienced upperclassmen, because you’ll be rooming exclusively with freshmen! \u00a0After your first year, you will move to one of 80 houses on either the West or Central Campus. \u00a0The West Campus is a residence hall-style, while the Central Campus is an apartment style.<\/p>\n

Duke University provides weekend entertainment through the Devils After Dark program. \u00a0Expect events such as themed nights, performances and recreational activities. \u00a0Look in your residence hall lobby for event listings or check your school email for updates!<\/p>\n
