Some people bring canned and pre-cooked food, but for the most part, you will definitely need a way to cook. Even if you don’t plan on doing much cooking, it is good to bring a grill or stove of some sort so that you will be prepared if something happens and you cannot leave the wilderness for longer than you had anticipated. It can be surprising how many different uses there are for propane<\/a> while camping; it’s certainly not just fuel for your camp stove anymore. Propane and camping go hand in hand, so make sure your tanks are filled to the brim before you leave. And yes, I definitely mean fill<\/em> them as opposed to exchanging<\/em> them. Last but not least, think about what activities you’ll want to partake in while you’re out camping. Is there a lake nearby? If so, will you be fishing? Do they have a bait shop at the campgrounds, or should you stock up on that beforehand? By thinking these questions through you will cut down the likelihood of forgetting something important.
