Cuddly and warm – and probably your favorite place to be is in bed. Nothing beats a long day like crawling\u00a0under the covers and closing your eyes. \u00a0A couple of packing tips to consider are:<\/p>\n
Carefully lift and remove your bare mattress off of the box springs. You can set this aside for now, and move onto lifting the box springs out of the frame if there is one. Now that you have these two pieces, it is highly recommended to\u00a0use a mattress bag<\/a> to preserve the state of your belongings. Without it, your furniture is subject to outside elements or dander!<\/p>\n Bed frames usually connect through screws or metal slots. Using a pen or permanent marker, indicate where the bed frame currently sits. Reassembly will be much easier if you know exactly where to put all of your pieces back. Using a screwdriver or other tools, remove hardware parts (such as screws, etc.) and place them in a sealed labeled bag to keep them together. You will want to\u00a0set aside large pieces such as a head\/footboard if you have them.\u00a0Wrap these with blankets or other cushioning.<\/p>\n Using a bed sheet underneath your mattress will make the process of loading your bed easier. This allows you to have “handles” and either pick up the mattress or slide it quickly out of the house. Next, place\u00a0all of your framing and other accessories into your vehicle. After you’ve completely loaded your bed and accessories, it’s time to move forward to your new destination.
