You’re getting ready to make the a long haul across the county, so you better get prepared with some good tunes! You’ll want to make sure you download and test your favorite iPhone music apps before you move<\/a>. This way you will have playlists and channels ready for listening so you don’t have to fumble with your phone while driving.  Here are four top rated iPhone music apps that require minimal fuss so are suitable for cross-country moves. Another big bonus, all of these apps are FREE!<\/p>\n

TuneIn Radio<\/p><\/div>\n

1. TuneIn Radio<\/a> – TuneIn is a free way to listen to music, sports and news.  You can add stations, songs, and shows to your presets and even ause and rewind any station.  To find your stations you can search by song, artist, team, or show.  This app also plays in the background while you are using other apps. Just don’t forget… I did recently when I had my ear buds plugged in and it blared my hip hop station out load when I unhooked them at work! (Woops)<\/p>\n

Songza iPhone Music App<\/p><\/div>\n

2. Songza<\/a>– I love this app! You can choose your playlist by what activity you are doing (including driving) and then by what type of you music you’re in the mood for.  This is my go to app for working out and waking up in the morning. Another great feature of this app is that you can save your favorite playlists and share them via Facebook, Twitter or email.<\/p>\n

8Tracks<\/p><\/div>\n

3. 8Tracks<\/a>– With 8Tracks users create playlists (With 8 or more tracks) and tag them with Genres and moods , such as “hip hop” and “break ups”, or county and “love songs”. I have even discovered new songs that I like and have purchased them right from the app.   The only downside to this app is occasional it won’t be able to play a song, and an endless error message will pop up. The only way I’ve figured out how to get rid of it is to shut down the app and restart.<\/p>\n

Ghostly Discovery<\/p><\/div>\n

4. Ghostly Discovery<\/a> – I was turned on to this app by a coworker.  If you’re unfamiliar, the Ghostly Discovery app will automatically stream playlists based on the mood, tempo, and sound you’re looking for, you can even tweak the beats faster or slower (although we don’t recommend you do this while driving).  Once you’ve selected your preferences, a list with tracks are compiled from record label Ghostly International<\/a>\u2014purveyors of quality electronic music.  I never considered myself a fan of electronic music before downloading this app, but now go to this app when I need some good background music for work!<\/p>\n

There are also the more popular music streaming apps like Spotify<\/a> and Pandora<\/a> that are free to download but require the purchase a monthly subscription to access the full functionality of the App.  These are definitely worth a try if you like to stream music frequently from your mobile device and computer.<\/p>\n

iLuv Automobile FM Transmitter for your iPhone<\/p><\/div>\n

Keep in Mind that if you are driving a moving truck<\/a> it probably won’t have a auxiliary input jack, so you may want to pick up an FM Transmitter, so you can play your tunes through the truck speakers.  The nice thing about this one by iluv is that it also charges your phone at the same time, Win! Win!<\/p>\n
