The holidays are seen by most of us as a time of joy, cheer,\ngiving and family. As\nwith anything, it helps to know what is ahead so you can plan accordingly. The\nfirst step in planning for holiday travel is communication. Talk to your\nsignificant other about plans with their family and expectations, talk to your\nown family to see what they have in mind, and make sure you\u2019re clear on work\nevents and which days you may have off around the holidays. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once\nyou have a good understanding of where you need to be and when, you can start\nto take action. Add all of your events to a calendar or jot them down on a\npiece of paper to have everything written in one place and clearly visible.\nKeep in mind that weather issues may cause holiday travel delays, and you\u2019ll\nwant to give yourself plenty of time if you\u2019re doing multiple events in the\nsame day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After\nyou have everything calendared out you will need to start making travel\narrangements. Most major travel sites suggest booking flights as early as\npossible to get the best deals and save money. Unfortunately, this isn\u2019t always\nan option and you will need to make last minute arrangements. Visiting multiple\nsites and comparing prices is always a smart tactic to see the best prices\navailable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re flying, you will probably want to determine what kind of transportation you need from the airport to your destination. These can save you a lot of time and extra trips to purchase gift wrap,\nbags, etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If\nyou\u2019re wrapping yourself don\u2019t forget to re-use the boxes and moving supplies\nthat you already have available. Not only is this more environmentally\nfriendly, but it can also be creative.
