So why spend extra money buying cat houses and trinkets to entertain your cat when you can build your own cat house with old boxes from your basement? The answer is you don\u2019t have to! This will serve as a place holder for the top of the roof.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 4<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Using the glue gun, glue one side of the extra box flap down to the folded, inch wide piece of the box. Do the same to the other side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 5<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Fold and tape the extra flaps of the roof peaks down to the top of the roof using the painter&#8217;s tape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 6<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Using the box cutter, cut out your doors and windows. Ensure the door holes are big enough for your cat to fit through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 7&nbsp;(Optional)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that the boring stuff it is out of the way \u2013 Be as creative as you\u2019d like! Paint and decorate your cat house to your heart\u2019s desire. Have fun with it! You can add toys, string and ALL the bells and whistles you want.
