My friend, Gregory and I have been U-Haul renters for years. Your trucks are always clean, safe and reliable and the employees are fantastic. Myra & Keana were the first 2 employees who assisted me in renting the Unit #S1431 at a great price with 1-month free offer. They showed us the unit sizes and discussed pricing, which made my selection easy. Chantel was a dear. She not only showed us where the units were, she was kind enough to help me with steering my loaded cart because I walk with a cane. After meeting Myra, Keana & Chantel, I met Ania the next day, multitasking with ease, attentive to 3 customers at once without missing a beat. I was so impressed with her service and the other 3, I decided to open a 2nd unit #11056. Each employee was professional, friendly, approachable and well versed with the company policies and facility. There was also a gentleman who assisted us with garbage disposal/community donations policy and another with the truck rental, but I didn't catch their names. Overall, the kindness and friendly assistance we received, the cleanliness of the premises, the size/price of the units, and the availability of truck rentals will keep us coming back to your company. The location I went to was good. Staff was accommodating and friendly though I had to take certain matters into me own hands as far as speaking to a Manager whom was very nice. The personel at the facility were great. The issue was with the steering. The steering wheel had 6” of play. When passing a car double parked in the street as is common in the city, it was a harrowing experience. I strongly advise you to repair the equipment because you will be liable for an accident.

I called your reservation line multiple times to confirm if the box truck I was renting came with an e-track aluminum system for fastening ratchet straps to. I was told both time that they came standard in all of your vehicles, but that your reservation team would contact the store and ask them to confirm for me and to call if there was a problem. I gave your team the name and link of the fastening system I was talking about both times and told "Of course we have them" I arrived to find out that not only did you not have them on ANY of your vehicles, but the person at the location had checked the vehicles, confirmed that they didn't have them, and then neglected to call me anyway. I lost precious time on a job and had to do a sub-optimal packing job that also lost me time because of all of this neglect and incomptenance. gave you every chance to communicate properly with me and your company failed at literally every turn with no acknowledgement of that or offer to help me in any way. 0 stars from me.

My overall experience with this rental was frustrating. I specifically requested a location that was close by my home and storage unit. The pick up location was changed three times. The final pick up location was in Brooklyn. It took me over two hours to get to my moving destination. By that time, my storage facility was closed and I had to wait until the next morning to pack up. I am a repeat customer. I have not had this issue in the past, but will consider other moving companies going forward.

Never renting a Uhaul again. None of the items I requested were in the truck when I came to pick up my rental. $215 for driving 75 miles and a 5 hour rental feels much too expensive. And to make matters worse, once I came back to the location to return my truck, I asked an attendant where I should park. He yelled back at me, "What did it say on the sign lady?!" I said I didn't see a sign when I drove in. He said again "What did it say on the sign lady?!" and then walked away.

Your app is the worst user experience I've ever had. I wasted 40 minutes of my reservation just trying to pick up the van. The team members were so adverse to helping with the truck checkout until I had asked two other people for help, again a huge waste of time. Moving is one the most stressful experiences and funneling your customers to an app that doesn't work, constantly glitched, and has unclear instructions made this experience absolutely unacceptable. Renting vans with team members before the app was smooth, efficient, and friendly. Now the entire rental experience has made me question how much I'm willing to endure to rent anything with U-Haul ever again.

This was my first time renting with Uhaul. I needed a van for a couple of hours to move a couch. When we arrived the team told us the computers were down and it would take longer as info had to be manipulated manually. The ladies at the front desk were total pros. They made is work and it didn’t take long at all. I was so impressed with their poise and leadership. While I didn’t get her name, the young woman who helped us had braids and wore a baseball cap. She’s a keeper Uhaul!

This is the third time I’ve rented from location and every single time they say the gas is at a certain level but it’s always slightly lower, this most recent time I picked up the vehicle I drove a total of 7 miles I put $10 in gas back into it which is 2.5 gallons and they said it was short $16 in gas which is an absolute light this location is a complete fraud and they do this every single time and I’m going to be going to the New York State Attorney General looking into this

Tell customers that there will be a $20 fee if you drop off the truck after hours when you put the key in a drop box. This is rip off to the highest extent. I could have waited till the following morning to drop off the truck to avoid the fee. I brought back the truck with same amount of gas I got it with and they charged me $11 for two gallons of gas. Kamari was the salesperson who assisted me and was amazing. I got there to return the trailer I rented same day after the office closed. The app took so long to load and I don’t know why. I wanted to do the online checkin via app, and another customer was there experiencing the same issue. We both ended up leaving unable to check in. The next morning I received checkin penalty! Truck was old and dirty and was low in the tires, so it looked like it had a flat and we had to go fill it up ourselves. The location didn't include the blankets or cart that I ordered to be in the truck at pickup. You have to check in on an app and no human being wants to talk to you or help you. We had to wander around alone in the lot to find the truck. A whole mess. And I wasn't even supposed to go to this location. I booked elsewhere and got sent here.

First, the lighting and air circulation on the ground level is truly horrible. Second, I cleared out my storage unit, and had a few bits of furniture that I wanted to donate. I noticed this location has a space for people to share unwanted furniture in good condition. A green space for repurposing furniture. As I was placing these items, a staff member yelled at me and told me that wasn't a dumpster. I explained their own signage to her and that the sign only says no mattresses. One of the first items I placed was an AC. As she was yelling at me, a gentleman asked for the AC. So he was modeling the purpose od that space. She continues to yell at me in front of other patrons and then begins critiquing my items. She said it was dirty. 1. It was sitting in storage for 1 year and 2. It was outside patio furniture. I showed her that it was very easy to clean. She then said when no one takes it its her job to put it in the dumpster and the dumpster is full, so we can't leave anything there. I explained the Uhaul signs to her again. She then pointed at my boyfriend and said, "that's the last thing you put there. You can't add anything else. This isn't a dumpster." It's clear this person did not understand the purpose of this space, but to be rude, yell at and berate me in front of other patrons was honestly so embarrassing. I follow rules. I wasn't dumping trash. It was good furniture. So good, someone came to pick up stuff as we were arguing back and forth. I get other people might dump trash there, but I obviously was not doing that. I also am tempted to bring this to the blogs. I am sure the people of Park Slope would like to know that they lightly worn furniture that they are donating to the space is being brought to a dumpster.

First of all, I rented a 20-foot truck! They gave me one of 15! It was never registered in the system! He wouldn't let me upload the photos that one takes from the front to the side ect! An employee told me to drive so the system is slow! When I return to deliver the truck an employee with a bad day. I would say! For the simple fact of me making a mistake and entering one of the 3 lines of retornar the truck! He told me that he was going to put me a cleaning fee!! I started recording it! And to record the truck! Which they themselves gave me! Dirty! Why what I was carrying were bags of new clothes! That I wasn't going to dirty! I don't smoke, I don't drink, I didn't eat anything in the truck! I think that employee has some search with that! There are always a lot of people working and no one does their job! Although they were wrong this time! It was supposed to not have a 20-foot truck available! They offered me a 15 but in the system and in the collection there was a 20-foot one!

I saw someone but he moved so fast that I couldn’t get out the van in time to shout out to him for help navigating the system and dropping off my stuff. So because of that issue I had to leave with ALL OF MY STUFF IN THE U-HAUL , drop off my Helper then park it close to the place I’m moving my things in overnight and return and PAY Another MOVING FEE to 2 Guys that hang out to assist customers. I ended up getting a MONTH FREE. But the STRESS OF HAVING THE VAN PACKED UP SITTING ON THE STREET WAS STRESSFUL. I hope for All this trouble that my it is worth it.

The representative who checked us in was excellent ☆☆☆☆☆. The representatives who inspected then connected the trailer to my vehicle dropped the ball. The trail was connected to another trailer. We learned this as we got ready to drive off and realized we were pulling two trailers. The reps disappeared leaving us to mitigate the problem ourselves. The second issue, I forgot my hitch reciever and the one Uhaul no good. I was told I cold return it but the manager at the location refused the return. No problem, I will call my financial institution and file a claim. Overall, the managers failure to take the appropriate action and provide the refund show Uhaul cares more about money than customer service and satisfaction.

Showing up in person but having to check in with our cell phone and otherwise not having someone who could help us with questions etc. was an awful customer experience. There were several of us trying to check in using our phones and nobody was able to help us constantly, just one-off questions. Also, the verification process was unexpected and difficult. I would have brought a passport if I'd known. Instead we spent at least 15 minutes trying to track someone down who could verify our identity on a Sunday night. Awful. Drop off was easier. Best thing about this location is its location.

My access code did not work, repeatedly. A very kind and patient staff member tried to help me and the code didn't work for her either. After a few attempts, she created a new access code--which also did not work. It took several attempts by an employee for me to gain access. While waiting for the elevators, several other customers complained about the same issue. Also, it seems excessive--and annoying--to have people check in outside the elevators and then again in the elevators. Thankfully, everything else went smoothly!

I prefer dealing with people, especially when parts of the task set in online format - like photographing the vehicle with my own phone, trying to use the elevator cards, or knowing whether to go to the return tent before checking in for a storage unit -- are usually unclear enough that human help is needed anyway. I have no complaints re Paulia, or Sherene, or the fellow who helped activate the elevator with an up-swipe - but personal guidance avoids the need to attempt a totally digital experience, ... before asking for help anyway.

We stored the content of our 2-bedroom apartment in this facility for 4 months. Also picked up and/or stored additional items at times. At all times we found the personnel very friendly and helpful, and the facility exceptionally well maintained and clean.

I used a storage unit on the ground floor of this facility. When it was time to move out, I discovered the unit was covered in rodent feces. There was rodent urine and feces on my couch. This is a severe health risk. Thousands of dollars worth of my belongings have been contaminated and needed disposal. I will never use U-Haul storage again. I will warn everyone to stay away.

Room was too small and too short. The room originally rented I was supposed to take an elevator to the 4th floor and the carry my furniture up a flight of steps. The storage facility is absolutely horrible, I mean you really get what you pay for. The cracks in all the floors make it so hard for you to move your things safely , and then the storage facility I first got had a plumbing pipes that ran in it that were so big and looked like they had holes in it so we had to Switch and the second one had holes on the ceiling so people can see what is in your storage and also had children’s writing all over it. I mean the only word to describe is ghetto. Don’t get me started on the WOODEN DOORS. One push and someone could easily get into my storage facility. If I wasn’t in a time crunch and had so many things I would’ve my stuff to different facility it cost more but as least my stuff is safe I do not recommend this place at all. What I can say is the check out is pretty quick.

I am disappointed in this location. I switched my unit that I have had since 2019 because they raised the rent from 192.00 to over 300.00. Very very disappointed. This wasn't even a gradual raise it hit all at once. I should have at least been grandfathered in to a gradual increase. That would've been more respectful. Sometimes the staff is nice.

I stored a one bedroom apartment worth of stuff for 6 years at this location. I hadn’t been there in more than 5 years, and just hoped my things were okay. Well, they were better than okay. The Uhaul team ( Sofia, Kamarie, Alexander and Hector) at the 4th Avenue location in Brooklyn were very accommodating to my Uhaul rental needs. Very professional and had a lot of patience while assisting with my rental services.

I had a great experience overall: great facilities and lovely staff. My only complaint has to do with the "donation" area. I left some used Ikea bookshelves there and was fined a $125 for "garbage removal". These items were perfectly reusable and in good enough condition to be repurposed. Even though I'm not against paying a small fee for leaving items behind, it seemed excessive, and Uhaul should have a better system to deal with the furniture that customers left behind. Again, this is not a critique of the staff, everyone was competent and lovely. But the policy strikes me as unfair.

It was easy to store but everyone is not computer savvy so for people that are not good on computers. I think it’s good to have an in person check out alternative because it was very frustrating as a person that does not like everything to be technological. Also, there was nobody to go to when we were having difficulty finding our unit or getting onto the elevator. It was no one available close by to assist.

Great rental. Unfortunately, I had very little employee interaction. The storage facility was easy to access and all self service. When renting a truck and purchasing merchandise, this were my only options for employee interactions. Both times were pleasant. Would definitely recommend.

Kamarie was the customer service associate I seen there. However, I asked her 3 times to let me see the storage room before I commit and she told me I had to make the reservation 1st. I went to the storage unit and it was not what I expected, no map to locate the unit was unacceptable!!! I had to call the office and get another lady to assist me properly! And could have avoided a lot of confusion in the 1st place. So why isn't there a customer service parking available and not only for loading and unloading? That would be the only reason of coming to the facility correct?

Overall good experience but this location has a serious rodent issue. I never had any food in or near my unit, but would always find droppings in my unit which was infuriating and quite disgusting. Hours were convenient, pricing was fair, staff was friendly. But please do something about the rodents!!!

It has been almost a week since my move out and i am still disinfecting my belongings that were covered in mice pellets and urine and having to throw away several boxes of personal items. I was told that a ticket for the infestation was being submitted on my behalf last Saturday but i am still waiting to hear back. At the the very least looking for a refund of the month of storage i paid for. When i call the office to follow up i am told to call back when a manager is in, this is getting ridiculous and I am just asking for this to be made right. Please call me.

This U Haul facility was helpful , easy to access, and very clean upon every visit. There was an abundance of Vehicles as well an every time I rented one it was in full service a maintained well. I had one issue upon move out that I am still dealing with an hopefully U Haul will be able to assist me with this as well as they have with every other matter that arose.

The staff ant the 4th Ave Park Slope location are the best I’ve encountered in my several years of using U-Haul services. They assisted me very thoroughly and made sure I understood every step for both van and storage rental. This location will now be the only location I rent from if I can help it. I only needed my storage for a few days because I had deliveries that were too heavy and large to be left in my lobby. For the brief moment of interaction with the staff, I was left with a great impression. They were very helpful, friendly and patient with me. "I’ve had such a great experience storing with U-Haul Moving & Storage of Park Slope. The manager truly cares about the customers and goes above and beyond to help. Give her a raise you can look back at when I I was just there today. It was difficult to figure out how to access the elevators and find the storage unit initially. It was not clear where to park the van and there were few/no staff around to support.

Staff at 394 4th Ave were very helpful, particularly the woman who was facing people as customers entered the Truck rental side on 12/14/24 at 5:30pm. She had a solid grasp of the storage spaces, my needs in the moment, and was very good. Online descriptions of whether the storage space was accessible without climbing stairs was not totally clear, and inconsistently described. This was frustrating and required more time fumbling on my small phone. Would have been very helpful to have been able to filter all spaces that didn't require stair access.

Two staff were not friendly and helpful, one was The storage unit was pretty good, but it was tied closed with a cable tie and the lock was in plastic packaging and I wasn’t warned so I had to open both with my hands, which resulted in cuts. The office hours are probably usually convenient, but I was told to register my unit on the app, which I tried to do from home and it wouldn’t accept my international ID, but the office was closed and so I had to go in the same morning the moving truck was coming in. I think with a couple of small changes it is still a good business

My overall experience was great but the storage ended up being to far from where I move to so I had to find somewhere close for me to store my belongings. The only thing is the place was so huge..every time I would go, it would be like a maze getting to my unit...so difficult to find..other than that the place was great 👍🏽.

Amber was very accommodating. She listened to what I needed and she made it easy for me to move out yesterday by giving me an extra day. My storage technically expired Sunday at midnight and she gave me a grace day for Monday. I rented a uhaul truck yesterday for my move and she helped me with that also. 5 stars for Amber! Thank you!

The groups of people that hang out outside the facility and hound you for used furniture or work moving was the worst part of the experience because it felt like vultures circling every time I came to my unit but the facility itself was nice.
