I called first the office in Dempster in Evanston, asking for a truck and a storage space. They told me that there was no space available in their location. But that there was storage available at the location in North Western Avenue. I also needed a truck. They told me that all had been arranged for the location at Western Ave and that I could be given a code to load the storage space after hours. When I arrived at the location in Western Ave I was told that the storage space was not available and that I could not have access after hours. The agent at the office was courteous and polite but it was impossible for her to solve the storage problem. I ended up renting a truck (this was fine, in good conditions etc.) But I had to rush finding an alternative solution for the storage. It ended up well. But I was unimpressed by the ability of UHAUL to handle information across different locations.

There was a bit of a mix up with our reservations when I reserved on-line. I was looking for the Dempster location in Evanston. When we got there, we found out that the location that actual had the u-haul was on Western. It all turn out well, and worked better that way. The gentleman at the Western Ave location was very helpful. The mixup could have been avoided if when you sent the email confirmation, it would have said your pickup point is, and then given that location. We at least then could have called to find out why it was different. Instead of stopping at the first place and then sent to another.

We swept the truck before return although we did not receive the truck that way (was quite dirty in back but clean elsewhere and well maintained). Not a big deal though and everything went smoothly. Would use this location again if the need arose. Thanks!

The customer service here was excellent! She was incredibly friendly and quickly checked me out. Even though they're farther away from me than some other uhaul places, I would go there again if I needed to rent another truck. Don't be so quick to judge the outside appearance of the location.
I definitely recommend majd!

Listen to them and honor committments made. Confirming a vehicle one day before it's needed is totally unacceptable. This puts the customer in an uneasy position - not knowing if a truck will be available when needed.

Person(s) at this location were great, both on the phone and in-person. That said, I seem to remember, when making the reservation, the person who took my reservation saying they would call me the day before the truck was to be rented, to confirm. I don't recall this happening. Perhaps I heard wrong (and I was supposed to call U-Haul), or perhaps someone tried to reach me, got my voice mail, and didn't leave a message. Nonetheless, the renting experience was great; problem- and hassle-free, even though this was my first rental from this location, and the office seemed to me to be very busy, at least for a Sunday. Thanks for everything!
