Lengthy review, I know, but please read this if you want to know what it will be like renting with Ebony. Rent here if you want constant rent hikes, broken lights, unprocessed payments, and to be hung up on every single time you call. I rented a small storage unit here for about eight months, and I can honestly say it was one of the worst business experiences I’ve ever had. When I first met Ebony, I respected her for running the place on her own. But over time, that respect disappeared because of how I was treated. This is my first time ever leaving a bad review anywhere, but the bad review honestly and easily wrote itself after my experience here. When I started renting in January, I was paying $14 a month for the smallest unit they offered. By the time I left, my rent had been raised 3 or 4 times until I was paying $68 a month for the same space. The real problem, though, was the way I was spoken to and treated. Every single time I called Ebony, she would hang up on me before the conversation was finished. It didn’t matter if I was calm, polite, or just trying to ask a question — the call would end with a click in my ear. Eventually, I stopped calling her myself and had my husband handle it, and he received the same treatment. On top of that, making payments was an exhausting process. My card was on file, but every month I had to call her, remind her to run the payment, and then text her afterwards to make sure it actually went through. If I didn’t, she would turn around and charge me a late fee the next day. At one point I texted her during office hours if there was a lock on my storage unit because I needed to come pick my stuff up and I didn’t want to make a trip just for it to be locked (I live several states away) she texted me back saying “I’m at home I’ll check in the morning” I responded “okay thank you please don’t forget” next day: I texted her “hello” no response…. Next day: I texted her again asking if there is a lock on my storage unit because I’m coming o out of town. She says “there is no lock but I’ll double check today.” Later that day I text her asking if she got a chance to double check, she responds with “there’s no lock.” The next day I receive a voicemail saying she’s going to auction my belongings in my storage unit because there hasn’t been a payment made the last 3 months, but in reality she just wasn’t processing my payments despite having my card on file and me reaching out every single month telling her to take a payment. I was also texting her for three days straight asking if my unit was locked and she was saying no. How does that make sense??? And every single time I reached out, every single month, I’d have to call various times just to have her actually process the payment. I’d have to text her informing her that I attempted to reach out and couldn’t get ahold of her so she wouldn’t try to charge me a late fee. She was so disorganized and was not on top of processing payments at all but she was so on top of charging a late fee plus the rent. So I’d have to call her multiple times, after I’d call her and tell her to take the payment, I’d have to text her AGAIN asking if she took the payment because I didn’t receive a charge on my card. She would then email me my receipt. The facility itself isn’t well taken care of. Ebony is rarely in the office, and the lights inside the building don’t work properly. The first few near the entrance would come on, but the rest stayed off no matter how far you walked in. This wasn’t a one-time thing — over an 8-month span, I visited my unit several times, and each time I had to use a flashlight just to see my own belongings. When I finally moved my things out, I asked if there was anything I needed to do to officially end my rental. She told me no, but given my experience with her, I wanted confirmation. My husband called after we cleared the unit to let her know it was empty, and she said she’d check the next day and close the account. My husband asked her for a confirmation email after she did this. The next day came and went without an email, so he had to call again to remind her (which then ended with her hanging up in his face….again) — only then did she finally send me a move-out form. This experience was stressful, exhausting, and unprofessional from start to finish. Between the constant rent increases, the way I was spoken to and treated, the payment issues, and the poor condition of the facility, I would strongly urge everyone to rent somewhere else.

My experience with tri star was excellent. The only reason I removed my things is because I moved and no longer need a storage unit! Julie Gregory

The unit itself was perfect. Office hours aren’t great and access after 8pm for inside units wasn’t possible so that was an issue. The strip mall where the units are is run down and doesn’t appear altogether safe. But the price is right and the customer service was 5-star excellent. Fine for a handful of college dorm stuff.

Shannon (manager) offered excellent customer service and was extremely helpful. Her friendly and helpful nature was awesome, as was coordinating storage space remotely and in an area that I was not that familiar with. Thank you!

How dare YOU rent this to or on behalf of anything other than a non-human. Maybe it can work for people who don't know or appreciate quality storage. High crime area. Fire ants and roaches (affidavits, film & pictures). cracked/flaking flooring. standing water and seepage. Storage area NOT temperature controlled or system broken. I did NOT move a single item into that fiasco. YOU SHOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR MY UHALL CHARGES AS I HAD TO AD AN ADDITIONAL DAY TO ACCOMMODATE SECURING STORAGE FROM Public Storage in Greenville on Woodruff Rd.
