Only surprise we had (1st experience in rentals) was
we were not told about an $85. deposit. Even though
it was returned to us, it was never mentioned in the
2 times I spoke to UHAUL about rental fees. All costs
should be discussed when rental is made...

NEEDS REPAIR:
The truck was equipped with a non working Air/Conditioner. The heat inside in the cab when driving was miserable.
Repair this before it is rented again. Someone could die from heat-stroke.
The Truck was not clean inside the cab. Dirty ash tray, cigarette butts on the floor. An empty soda bottle in the cab.

The only issue is that not all key chains given to you have the KEY to the GOLD LOCK on the back of the truck. I didn't notice I didn't have the key until it was too late when my brother helping me move locked it to be safe. I then had to scramble to get a loaner key, then take it all the way back because I wasn't allowed to keep it for the remainder of the rental.
Aside from that slight fiasco, the truck worked as expected. We got the 26-footer.

picked up a uhual truck and a trailer for our car, and got on the road at 3am a tire on the trailer blew out after 5 minutes of being on the freeway. Waited 2 hours for a spare to come out to us. We were riding on rims! If we didn't have family following us in their car for our 6 1/2 hour trip, we would not even have known a tire blew out and could have been seriously harmed! The guy that came out to change the tire inspected another tire on the trailer and did not recommend driving on it because there was a 4-5 inch cut into the tire. He said he didn't know if the tire would even last our whole trip and he didn't have another spare with him. We ended up making it to our destination ok. Called the store manager where we picked it up and informed him of the tire issues and he insured us policy is they inspect all the equipment upon arrival but it's possible someone "missed" it. there is NO way if someone inspected the tire that didn't pop yet would have deemed it "safe" for a customer. Unfortunately we do not know what the tire that did pop look like beforehand. Manager refunded trailer rental but that does not make up for the headaches, frustration and time we lost that day. We had to be in our destination by a certain time and did not make it due to this inconvenience! Not to mention the safety concerns for us while hauling all our belongings and car. Highly disappointing

I have been renting from U-Haul for many many years. You think that they would update their processes to keep up with the times. Very slow cumbersome process.
