These guys at PICK UP were great but the overall miscommunication from all U Haul conversations via phone was confusing and misleading. In fact, we both got very upset and are not sure we'd use U Haul again. I was under the impression that $111 included two dollies, wasn't told about taxes or fees, and wasn't told the $111 for 100 miles was a flat rate. So I thought I was paying $111 (or less for less miles) plus insurance only. I paid over $150... As well, we asked for a 9am pickup originally but 10am was listed even after we called to change it. We never asked for a ONE WAY drop off but that's what was listed. So, under stress, we said SURE, whatever. The super cool people at the pickup location told us not to worry that we could drop it off ANYWHERE we needed to given we informed the large company (not them), including dropping it off where we got it, at their site. When we called the Portland Hub office, the woman eventually helped me out but only after 20 minutes of going in circles. We tried to tell her what we were promised and she argued we signed an agreement and COULD NOT drop it off elsewhere other than the listed location we were assigned (de facto, after being en route). My husband got very upset, especially after the Portland manager refused to talk to him anymore (I heard the conversation and he was very civil just frustrated) she threatened to charge an extra $200 fee for us not doing it "right" and disagreeing. It felt like a power struggle on a very stressful day for us and we did not appreciate that nor need it. Overall, the Stark people rocked and so did the truck but the interactions, misinformation and power tripping did NOT. Of course, I do appreciate that the woman at the Portland hub finally listened to me and "LET US" drop the truck off where we were told we could in the first place, saving us more heartache... I sure hope this doesn't happen to others and I sure wish I could get a partial refund for the misinformation and headache. Thanks for listening. Sincerely, Heather Straube
