My concern has to do with "Traffic" in Fargo, ND. I have had a confirmed reservation since June 9th 2015. At approximately 16:28 hours (from phone history) I received a call informing me the 17 foot truck I have had reserved for 19 days was unavailable. I was informed the closest location to pick up a similar truck was Roseau, MN (120 miles and two hours away (Google Maps)). One, the time of the call is late to get someone to take you anywhere here. Two, 19 days and they couldn't have a truck available. Three, upon arrival at U Haul Columbia Rd Grand Forks I was informed two things: A. The truck I wanted tomorrow had a flat tire. If this is the case, it would have been very simple to call and have me pick the vehicle up after a new tire was obtained. This option was not given to me. B. The truck had been overbooked. WHICH STORY IS TRUE? WHICH IS THE LIE? TRAFFIC IN FARGO, specifically, Tammy, Agent # 5, was take it or leave it. She was not open to suggestions. Tammy told me I was yelling, I know how I yell, she does not. I guarantee you I wasn't yelling. I asked for a supervisor and was told she was the supervisor it was near five o'clock p.m. and there was not another to talk to. I know better there is always a supervisor on call above the person who is a supervisor. I was informed she had worked for U Haul for three years, I did not and this was the way it is. Really? This is the way U Haul Customer Service work? This will make Social Media if it is. I told Tammy, U Haul would be paying for a storage unit because the truck was not available. Two hours away was not an option. She said U Haul doesn't pay for storage and since I didn't work for U Haul I didn't know the rules. Funny, when I booked a 6 foot by 12 foot enclosed trailer I was asked if I wanted storage. Which is the truth? Which is a lie? I called Corporate Customer Service twice: The first time I was transferred back to "Traffic" in Fargo. The second time I was able to talk to someone who wanted to help. KUDOs to her.

I order one 3 week ahead in crookston mn. and when it was time to pick it up, I had to go to grand forks to get and they said to pickup at 10:30 am and when I got their it was not their. so I had to wait 5hours til it came in.

My reservation was for a 17' truck, I only needed a 15' but There was none to had. I was asked if I wanted a 26'... I asked him to check for a smaller truck and behold, he had a 20'. Using the 20' truck it started to rain and the truck had no useable wipers. This actually could have been dangerous. I used the internet to reserve and found it to be one of the easiest sites I have used. The staff tried hard to please me but no wipers was hard to understand when the paperwork indicated the truck was ready for service. Good company, but someone needs training.

My U-Haul experience was very mixed. I am very unsure if I would recommend this place or not. At the pick up location the associate, Reid, was very helpful trying to save me the most money but when I got my confirmation call, they tried to change both the price and the time. After much arguing they agreed not to raise the price, but the time was changed from morning to evening. When I returned the truck they associates tried to tell me I was at the wrong location and it was only because I had my contract with that location listed that I was able to return it. I'm not sure of my overall experience. There were ok things, but there were a lot of mishaps.

When a truck is running late on being returned for the next reservation, it would be great customer service to keep the customer who is expecting to pick up the truck at a particular time informed on the status. If the truck is being returned late, contact the customer who is supposed to pick up the truck to let them know the delay, and keep them posted regarding the return. Don't make the customer continue to call, and break promises to the customer when phone calls aren't returned as promised. I understand you can't control when a truck is returned for the next person, but it is great customer service to keep the next customer informed on when the truck will be/is available.

The location is awkward to get to as it is on a 3 way junction and the in and out not clearly marked. Once we pulled into the return equipment lane, the exit it was blocked, so the trailer had to be removed before we could back out.

I had a hitch installed the day before I picked up my trailer and was told I was totally "set to go" and that I just needed to pick up the trailer. Turned out I needed to purchase a ball mount and ball for another added cost because it wasn't included in the hitch installation. I was not pleased because I hadn't been told there would be another cost.

Another thing I did not like about my rental experience: I kept getting phone calls (which I didn't answer because I was driving) from U-Haul. The purpose of the calls was to find out if I would be returning the trailer early, because they had other rentals lined-up. I did not appreciate this practice, it felt like they did not care about me, respect my rental period & were only interested in making a double rental (which there was no benefit for me).

Liz did great a helped me find a truck after my reservation was pushed by traffic. She helped me to the best her ability. We reserved our truck a month and half in advanced. Check in was smooth. Reid was friendly and very helpful. This location is great and the staff do what they can to help customers. Even more so those customers who get screwed over by the corporate office.
