So the key that I was given didn't fit in the after-hours drop box and I kind of set it on the top and I'm sure uhaul cars aren't high on the car theft list, but maybe you should get a new box so the keys actually fit ????

I made reservations to rent a truck but next day I got told there was no truck but one came available much bigger than the one reserved and I had to go about 10 miles out of my way to get it so I paid for truck so I will say get better at reservations and customer service

On 7/7/15 I reserved a 15' truck for 0900 AM pick up in Pullman Wa. Uhaul changed my plan. Uhaul emailed me and changed my time and location for pickup. The dealer was unable to deliver WHAT I ORDERED. I ended up with a hugh truck @ the agreed time in a different city. I drove 6 Hr to move my daughter form Pullman to Spokane then 6 hr back home. I planed my move to the hour. My reservation was just a MAYBE. Uhaul is not reliable. YOU SUCK.

The location didn't keep the reservation although I made it a month in advance. They upgraded the truck but the fuel level was on empty and expected me to bring it back on 1/4 tank. The "fuel credit" didn't bring it up to the 1/4 tank and I ended up spending $80 for 1/2 a tank of gas. It just shows how empty the truck actually was.

I had asked that the ball be reversed on the receiver to help level the trailer. The operator said it it didn't need it when my daughter dropped to pick up the trailer. I had to do it myself as the trailer tongue scraped the ground when leaving the parking lot.

The GMC van body box van had a bad problem with the brakes. Coming down Clarkston Hill I was concerned that the shimmy on the front end every time I applied the brakes when I was above 45 MPH was going to cause me to lose control. When I mentioned it at check in the rep insisted the brakes were fine as the truck had just had the brakes looked at and accused me of riding the brakes.

Although my ratings on the survey I completed about my U-Haul experience were favorable, they were reflective of the employees involved, not how I felt about my overall roadside assistance experience, which was horrendous. We were on I-90 about 30 miles west of Moses Lake in 102 degree weather for 5 hours & 20 minutes waiting for assistance to get a flat tire changed! All of this could have been avoided if someone had simply changed the size of the tires and updated the information about the car transport in the automated system.

I was told that I could change my drop off location by calling a number on my contract by the associate in Moscow. I had tried to change the drop off location twice prior to picking the trailer up and was told that I would be able to change the drop off location when I picked it up. I was never able to change the drop off location and it would have cost me an additional $300 to drop the trailer off near me. Instead I had to drive over an hour to drop the trailer off. I will not be using UHaul again.

I got to the location before the 7 a.m. open time and was greeted by an employee even so. I told him about the mud on the truck and he understood that I didn't get it on it, having driven highway routes all the way. Also, the 9:18 a.m. deadline time could have been more visible on my contract when I picked up the truck. I thought I had the truck until the close of business on my final day, not until the exact time I picked it up on my start day.

We reserved a 17' truck at a location closest to us. Two days before our scheduled pick up, I received a phone call from customer service, who told me they did not have my truck in the location I had reserved, so I could get one from this location instead, but they only had 24' trucks, for which I would not be charged extra because they did not have the truck I originally reserved. At pick up, Uhaul told us that charging the original reservation price (for the 17') truck was against their policy. Very disappointing considering we had to drive extra distance to pick up the truck from a separate location to begin with.

Our local UHaul locations did not offer pickup rentals..so we had to drive over 30 miles one way to pick up the truck. Customer service told us that they would credit us 60 miles in mileage due to inability to pick up in our area. When we returned vehicle...we were told by store management that they could not credit us mileage on a "local" rental...only on one way rental. I would have returned it iny area...but was told I had to return to store rented...so hence...I would receive a mileage credit. I was really disappointed in the customer service end of this rental...plus young man at store was not very personable...I would suggest that the customer service people on the phone coordinate with the store better. It was irritating to be promised something that cannot be delivered.

Your company forced us to come up with a worst case scenario for how long we would need the van. We were in a situation where we were unsure of when our rental would be opening up. Our personal home was set to close on a sale on June 25th and our rental we were moving into had tenant who had paid through June 30th. We rented the van for the 23rd through the 1st because your company would not allow us to keep the van in the event we guesstimated wrong on when the tenants actually moved out of the rental. We were lucky that they were able to be out of the home on Friday the 26th and we unloaded and returned the van on Saturday the 27th - returning it earlier than anticipated and allowing use for hopefully another client. It is so busy this time of year in the moving industry that we had to travel an hour out of the area to pick up the van to start with, so I know it is in demand. It is not standard practice in any business anywhere to charge for services that are not used. My husband and I have both been business owners 20 years and have never felt as extorted as we do now. We are literally having to pay double for our use of the van. Not only that, we had a very unpleasant experience here in the Moscow area in trying to rent the van. We called three weeks in advance to set up a reservation and given the looseness of our moving date were told nothing could be done without a firm date. So my husband guesstimated a pick up date of the 25th. On Friday the 19th of June, I called to change the reservation and give a firm pick-up date of the 23rd. The gal I spoke with said she changed the reservation date and said U-haul would call us 24 to 48 hours in advance of pick up to confirm the reservation. No one called us, and I realized no one had called on Monday the 22nd. I called U-haul myself and found out the reason no one had called was because the reservation date had NOT been changed and we were still in the system for pick up on the 25th. Because the date wasn't changed and because no one called to confirm there was not a van available for us locally and we had to unexpectedly (in the middle of moving) drive to Plummer to pick up a van. I am o.k. with you not refunding our unused service days. I am also o.k. writing a complaint to U-Haul corporate offices, the Better Business Bureau, State Attorney General's Office and also the US Department of Commerce. It makes no difference to me as a consumer whether the trip is a one way trip or a two way trip - either way I expect to pay for days used, and not be charged in excess. In a moving company I expect the company to have the flexibility to deal with normal fluctuations in consumer schedules and circumstances that occur in everyday moving situations, and I certainly do not feel that U-haul has met that expectation.

The rep assisting with hook-up and set-up was great. Very helpful. Unfortunately we were not told ahead that a 2" ball was required or a 4-pin connector for the brakes and lights. So, we had to purchase at the pick-up location.

The online reservation site made me think that I'd purchased mattress and couch covers. Apparently that's not the case until you get there. It could be clearer to the online customer that these need to be paid for separately. I haven't checked to see if I paid for these items twice or not.
