Vehicles need to be washed between users. I rent here often because the equipment is well maintained and it has the right price, but the vehicles are always dirty. Sure would be nice if this changed.

location or along our route. The system seemed outdated and cumbersome when it could be so simple. Instead, I had to search google on my phone as we drove, call the shops, explain our situation and see if they had the trailer available. With other companies this would have been streamlined much better! Everyone who worked with us at the 3 shops (Newbury Park, Santa Barbara and Oakland, as well as customer service) was pleasant and polite. Customer Service's capabilities were cumbersome and outdated. In order to make a simple switch in Santa Barbara, I ended up making probably 8 + calls to enable this to happen.

Suggest to your managers(goleta location) that they don't hang up on customers on the phone would be a good start.

Van was ready when I got there. Guy that checked me in was very polite. Van ran great and was comfortable. The man that checked me back in was very polite and got me checked out quickly. Smooth and great experience. Thanks!

No clear signage indicating entrance and exit. I came in the two-way front drive and was told to back vehicle and trailer out and enter from a side street, but then the staff relented and checked the trailer in courteously near where I had parked.

Have the truck I rented days in advance available. If you rented my truck to another customer, and had that customer's identical truck available, rent me that truck rather than tell me it'll take two hours to make the necessary updates to the reservation system and send me walking to another u-haul location. Had to have been a better resolution.

They have to spend more time to explain everything and how attach and detach tow dolly. I asked them but they said read the instruction that is attached to contract.

We needed a cargo van for 1 day: early morning until later that afternoon. We were told there was one available but we HAD to return it that day because early the next day the van would be taken by another customer. We said OK, that we would maybe have it back by 3pm, probably before 5, and certainly before 8pm closing time. The agent (a man, the manager) apparently wrote the return time as 5pm on the reservation. When we arrived to pick up the van the agent - a woman) told us we had to have the van back by 5pm or we would be charged another day ! We hadn't agreed to have it back by 5; we agreed to have it back before 8pm closing ! The agent changed the contract to read "Return by 7pm" ! I didn't want to argue anymore. When we returned the van that day at about 5:30pm we told the manager that we were not happy with his indicating a return time of 5pm in light of the woman agent's statement that we would have been charged another day. He said 2 things: 1: she was mistaken 2: he wouldn't have charged us Talk is cheap: - if she was mistaken he must take responsibility for his employees, and - quite frankly - I wonder how many customers were charged in this way; - he "wouldn't have charged us" ? uh huh . . . We feel we were lied to. That's not good for your business. Don O'Malley former Director of Parts, Haier America (responsible for all spare parts for all Haier products sold in North and South America) . . . my point is: I know a little about customer service and trust . . . .

Truck should come with a padlock. The fuel tank bracket was broken and although apparently secure, didn't look it. The headlights were way out of adjustment, requiring high beams to see well enough to drive. And biggest problem was that i had to drive 40 miles to pick up truck despite having made a reservation in my City.

John Martin was fabulous! He was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. On the other hand the men who were there Saturday evening seemed more interested in looking at a car than helping me. The black man was pretty good, but the other two were annoying in that they seemed to be trying to get rid of me so they could look at a nice car. It was not an image booster for UHaul. Also they failed to load my UBox on the trailer for pickup first thing the next morning, though that knew that was the plan. If John Martin had been there I am sure it would have been a more positive experience. John was really hustling on Sunday. He's a keeper. Not so sure about the 2 guys on Saturday evening.

Wait for drop off was reasonable given how busy it seemed, but longer than expected(~15 min). "Local truck" having zip tied dolly and blankets inside was inconvenient waste of space -- At least put those on the same side as the gas filler. We got the truck 2/3 full and then didn't have any more wall space left with a square bottom corner for the next big piece of furniture.

Main gentleman helping outside was very very grumpy for no reason. He shouldn't interact with customers. Others were very nice.
