There were 4 people standing around while one individual attempted to complete a contract for a storage space. The 4 seemed to know what to do but the individual actually writing the contract did not know. I had to ask the others to intervene as it was wasting my time.

After picking up my truck with a quarter tank of gas in it. I drove out to my drop point when the fuel light came on. I pumped $20 in gas as a returned. Above arriving at the nearest gas station back by the Uhaul location I was dropping the truck off at, I pumped another $22 in gas leaving the gage exactly where it was when I picked up the truck. The next day I was charged a $30 service fee plus an additional $18 fuel charge on my debit card causing my checking acct to go negative. When I called The Uhaul location, they claimed that I didn't leave the gas gage exactly where it was at and had to pump an additional $18 in fuel. I think maybe the punks that work there are pumping gas in their own cars, and charging the customers that are dropping their trucks after hours. I personally want to punch the kid in his face. If I was a younger man, I might go back and slash all your trucks tires too. How do you like them cookies.

I mentioned I was going to be using the truck for more than a 24 hour period when reserving the truck. I was told it wouldn't be a problem, and I assumed that I would be paying for a second day. After the initial 24 hour period passed I received a call from someone at the shop frantically calling saying that the truck was to be returned already! I explained that when reserving the truck I had mentioned about keeping it longer and the guys immediate response was "well you will be charged a late fee still!" As mentioned earlier I assumed I was paying for 2 days. Poor customer service skills and clearly poor communication internally.

When I arrived to pickup the trailer the running lights were not working properly. The attendant nd I tried connecting to other trilers but the problem persisted. There was no mechanic on duty to look into the problem. I crawled on the ground and had to play with the electrical connection until I was able to have lights. The attendant asked if iI wanted to take the trailer even if running lights were not working. I said no due to the traffic and safety issue that would create. Obviously that employee needs to be informed that his job is to assist and make sure trailers are installed in a safe manner. The very thought that he would suggest I leave there with out all lights working properly is a serious problem which should be addressed. Instead of trying to get rid of me he should have done everything to assist in the resolution of the problem. It ultimately worked out but that was because I was not going to travel without all the lights working properly. I hope for the safety of all you educate this employee on the responsibilities of his job.

I was not informed I was being charged $14.00 for the a tab being broken off a dolly. I informed the sales rep that I didn't use the dolly and that if I did I wouldn't have a problem paying for it. The dolly should be held down with something more sturdy than a plastic zip tie. The sales rep told me that people are always saying that and trying to get over on them. How about choosing a more secure method to hold the dolly in place if multiple customers are telling you the same thing. I informed him I was not happy with this charge he said he was not refunding it and if I wanted to call customer service that was fine then he hung up. I will say the customer service rep was professional unlike the sales rep at the store in Alsip.

The trailer provided had an annoying vibration between 25-32mph. Tire maint. and balancing should be a regular check on rental trailers. My motorcycle was bouncing around when I was traveling through town and frustrating me.

Make sure all ordered equipment is available for customers. I did not recieve one of the dollys I ordered and was not informed before driving the truck off the property.

This location is a great representation of your company. I had previously had my hitch installed at a denver location. At this denver location unbeknownst to me, not only did they install the kit incorrectly. they used a incorrect or less than desired box for the installation. This lead to my brake bulb being burned out, on a less than 1 yr old new vehicle. To top that off, though they did compensate me (but not the replacement cost ,as I told them), the installer broke an exspensive camping lantern. So i was most likely driving over multiple states without a turn signal, a very dangerous prospect. When I arrived at the location on 116th and cicero in chicago it was a different story. They informed me of what had happened with the wiring harness and my bulb. They also pointed out that I didnt have the warranty for the harness, even though I had the warranty for everything else. I guess that's how the denver branch discounted my service for breaking my lantern. The manager politely informed me that I would have to pay for the new harness but not labor. Then after looking at the receipt decide to help me further. He charged the the service and kit to the denver location, As they incompetently installed the item. After which I met a very cordial young man tony, he had a great attitude and sense of humor. He installed the harness quickly and efficiently. I will continue to use uhaul because of these two individuals. If they had not treated me so well, I would have written your company off and told all my friends to use budget.

24 hours before I was to pick up the truck I had reserved, a uhaul rep informed me that the closest pickup location was a 50 minute drive from my house despite there being a uhaul location just a 5 minute walk from my house. A second uhaul rep that I talked to informed me that the customer who was scheduled to drop off my truck had decided to keep it for three extra days, which uhaul allowed him to do without returning it. This ended up being my problem as I had to scramble to find someone who could drive me 50 minutes to pick up the closest truck. I suggest that haul do a better job not overbooking trucks or else provide a shuttle service to get the trucks closer to where customers need to pick them up.

This location at 118th and Cicero in Alsip, IL was very profesional and had their act together. The reservations were made over the phone through another location in Justice, IL and they screwed it up. Moral - make reservations through 118th Cicero to avoid problems.
