I was given a 26 foot truck that had reduced engine power and the transmission would not shift out of 1st gear everytime the engine came up to normal operating temperature. Had to shut the truck off completely and let it cool down and restart to get the truck to drive normal. Took it back to the location where it was rented at 5 miles per hour which took FOREVER and was informed that they knew the truck had a faulty oxygen sensor. I already had the truck full of an entire house worth of furniture. They did offer to swap the truck out but I would have had to move all of my furniture from one truck to the next by myself as nobody from uhaul offered to help so I kept the truck with the bad sensor. The problem repeated 7 more times that day causing the move to last 3 times longer than it should have not to mention the added cost of extra mileage driving the truck back to the rental location. I was offered 10$ off for the inconvenience which is not only a pathetic offering for the headache the truck caused but I never received it anyway. I not only will never rent from that location again but will never rent a uhaul again and will do everything I can on social media to make sure this dosent happen to the next poor sap that needs to move. I never wanted to rent from that location anyway but when I made the reservation online, my confirmation the next day informed me the location of my choosing which was close to my new house didn't have a 26 ft truck. I don't understand why when I made the reservation that the website said my preferred location did have a 26ft truck but really didn't. So then I had to pay for gas and extra mileage picking it up much further away?! I made the reservation 4 days in advance so in my opinion, uhaul should have moved a 26ft truck to my preferred location at their expense instead of me having to pay for it. Horrible experience! Never again.

When we picked up the truck the "check the gas cap" was lit up. When we called U-Haul they said not to worry it is always on.

The truck only had one tail light, the bracks was bad, the motor sound like it was going to blow up and not shifting right; and did not the 17 foot one that I had reserved, instead they claim the 26 footer is only one I could get any where in Milwaukee. Why? My family and I could had been killed.

I ordered a 4x8 trailer for the weekend, and the first trailer was so old, the lights can be barely seen. She gave us another trailer, and when we got back home, that trailer also had old fogged up lights that can't be seen. Afraid for our safely, we decided to take that trailer back too.

Forced to drive 20 miles out of my way to pick up the U-Haul 4 city's away from where I lived. Didn't have the size I wanted.Forced to take a smaller truck causing me to make two trips making more miles.Would have been less expensive using 2 Men and a Truck. DON"T EVER USE U-HAUL They scam you into spending more money then you need to by forcing you to drive far out of your way to pick up truck and causing you to pay $1.19 every mile.That's how they screw you.AND once there I waited 40Min in line at the counter, and there was only 1 person a head of me.The Staff was friendly however but not worth all the hassle, time and cost.Should have cost me only $60 if they gave me the size truck I had reserved and 1 of the 5 locations in the area I was living in at the time. It ended up costing me $120 double what I had planed on because even after RESERVING a truck they sent me 20 miles away from where I lived and gave me a much smaller truck causing me to pay for each mile far, far, far away from where I lived and needed to go and forcing me to make many trips.

I want to file a complaint as the vehicle back door was faulty . 30 mins after pick up we loaded the entire truck ready to set up my festival . The door was faulty and did NOT close leaving us waiting for 3 hours until we finally got roadside assistance which they confirmed faulty door . I missed the set up night and had to hire staff the next day to cover that I could set up thurs morn instead . Total mess for my festival . The door was fixed but the same thing happened when returning the vehicle , FAULTY DOOR . I would like someone to contact me about this situation , and I totally understand that things like this can happen to a vehicle at any time , it just set me back time wise and financially as a result .

Instead of having to go to a gas station right before I drop the vehicle off it would be nice if I could have the option when I rent the truck to return it without filling up the fuel tank and you people fill up the tank for me at the rental location. I have gotten this service at a car rental place before. You could even make more profit by marking the price of the gas up from what you get it at. Either way, it would have saved me a hassle.

Our laborers, Dale and Lamar did a fantastic job for us! They brought all of our daughter's possessions from the 14 foot truck up 2 flights of stairs to her third floor walk up apartment. They also brought items.down.4.flights of stairs to her storage area in the cellar. This was on an 85 degree day and the.most amazing thing they did was carry her 84" sofa up the stairs and work tirelessly until they managed to fit it in the apartment. We would recommend them.to other customers. If there is a recognition program, they should be recognized. At the very least someone should show them our feedback. Thank you, Phil and Barbara Bamonti

The rear door was sticking and the rail seemed bent. Very hard to open and close door. Lady who checked us in mentioned she put that on last report when someone checked it in but the people didnt fix it. FIX IT BEFORE YOU RENT THAT TRUCK AGAIN!

I scheduled a 26 foot truck with car transport several weeks ago. I set the preferred location to a convenient pick up location. I chose to pay more than budget because I have had very positive experiences with u-Haul in the past and liked the convenient locations. The day before pick up, I am now told that I have to pick up my truck 30 minutes further than I agreed (given good traffic conditions) which is two cities away from where I live. I then have to drive to a second location that is several more miles from the truck pick up. Looking at the web site, the new location for pick up does not even show up on the 18 closest locations to my zip code. I have to type in the pick up city to get it to show up. Again, a chose to pay more for U-Haul for convenience and due to prior positive experiences. Now I feel that I may have made a mistake. The person that called to confirm my reservation was also very unprofessional. She did not seem like she knew what she was doing. I asked her if I could pick up the truck closer to where I live, she redirected me to the 1-800 number. I told her that it was not necessary, and that I would do that after the call. I then asked her if I could at least pick up the truck with the trailer. She said that she would call U-Haul and “try.” She told me that she would call them and call me back when she knows one way or the other. She never called back. I called the 1-800 number to see if there was anything that could be done. The representative seemed to have an attitude and told me there was nothing that she could do. She then transferred me to “traffic” so I could ask them. The person that picked up answered as “U-Haul.” I asked her name, she seemed upset that I asked. I told her the situation and asked if she could help me. She told me that she could offer me a 10 foot truck in my preferred location. Think about this for a second. I need a 26 foot truck with a car transport, and the agent offers me a 10 foot truck. She was also very aggressive. I just wanted to talk to someone to see if my original agreement could have been honored. I am a reasonable guy, and I am not yelling at any of these representatives. I did not understand the aggression. I then called the 1-800 once again. Jean answered who was the most helpful. I asked how I should lodge a complaint as this is now a very unpleasant experience before I have even picked up the truck. She demonstrated actual customer service and show empathy for my situation. She informed me that I will need to finish the rental, then lodge a formal complaint on-line where a manager would contact me within 48 hours. I told her that I would do just that and thanked her. I then told my wife of the situation. She also called the 1-800 number to see if anything could be done. The agent told my wife that it was not possible because the manager at the pick up location does not work Sundays, and could not be informed that someone could pick up the truck to bring it to my preferred locatio
