Sorry, although my experience with U-Haul (this location, these representatives) has always been great, past experiences with other U-Hauls' were terrible. I would and will tell others' "These folks in the Somerville/Medford location are true customer relation pros." and I had a positive experience. Behind the desk, Kelly, Claudia, Brendan, Christopher and "everyone" in the lot were great. This was the first time I was involved with U-Haul vehicle rental where there was no problem with the equipment.

The advertised rate of $19.95 is rather deceptive when you add in the $.79 per mile charge. A one-hour, 18-mile drive cost me $37.00. Had I gone 100 miles roundtrip it would have been very upsetting.

I rent weekly from this location, and am always impressed with the whole operation. Great staff all around. Unfortunately, the last two times I've rented, I have been subjected to a ridiculously cumbersome new checkout procedure that adds unnecessary time and inconvenience. I'm sure that someone thinks its a good idea, but the old way was much more efficient. Please reconsider.

Rented several times. Don't like the fact that upon dropping off a van. I'm used to help with the equipment inspection. I'm told to stay in the van and turn on directional,step on brakes put it in reverse. I don't work for Uhaul. Have your employees do it.

My experience was pretty hassle free. The van I rented was clean, in perfect operating condition, and ready to go. All the employees were friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable. I would use this U-Haul location again recommend it to others.

Great overall experience. I booked online, the pick-up day my van was ready and I did not have to wait and the return process was simple and quick. My only suggestion for a first timer at this location would be a sign for customer parking. I did not see where to park when I was dropped off.

he cargo van was only driven a total of 9.7 miles during the reservation. It was returned with the Fuel level indicator still in the "F" for Full zone.

The equipment was clean and well-maintained,except for some mysterious stains on the driver's and front passenger's seats. Not a big deal, and obviously the fault of some careless previous customer, but slightly unsettling on an otherwise clean, low-mileage vehicle. I wouldn't have mentioned it except that this box is here for such comments.

Reservation made online a week prior to collection and on arrival the vehicle requested was not there, as had not been returned by previous client, who after having been contacted by the store - informed them he was not returning it until 3pm, despite us having booked a 1-7pm rental. Then to be told nothing else was available in that size or larger and there was nothing they could do was not helpful, or even empathetic to us as the client, considering we had a reservation for this vehicle and theses times, plus the explanation we needed to clear our storage unit by 5pm. Eventually offered a 10ft rental with billing we couldn't really make head nor tale of, and initially loaded for large payment clearance, rather than basics and adding mileage etc afterwards - like our experience of previous hire from Arlington, MA branch. Or, even any consideration of reducing costs as good will gesture, as now inconvenienced us with having smaller vehicle, which would have meant additional trips/time for us would have been needed, but able to fully load our own vehicle in the end as well. Thankfully back well in time, to then spend even more time than expected, stood in the cold and rain waiting for vehicle to be checked back in, properly.

I was a little upset by the fact that I had chosen the Somerville location to pick up my truck and when I got there they informed me that they had switched my pick up location to Medford which was 40 minutes out of my way (RT). We ended up being late for our movers...

I had to wait for the trailer to be serviced before I took it. I called and told them i was running late about a half an hour, But when i got there the trailer was not taken out. I had to hook up to another trailer pull that out so the uhaul guy could get to my trailer then he pulled it out and I backed the other trailer into the storage area and I dont work for Uhaul. After that he had to inspect the trailer before I left. The trailer brake lines were worn from the elements and had to be replaced so the guy had to replace them. The passenger side day light was out on the rear of the trailer was out also. I just think when a customer is coming to pick up a trailer for a long trip from Atlanta to Boston such as myself everything should be inspected and ready to go.

Make sure all stickers to mark scrapes and dents are actually sticking. I got a truck with a scrape on the front bumper that was there when I picked it up and the inspector tried blaming it on me during the return inspection. Maybe have a better system since stickers don't stick too well to plastic. Especially during the cold winter months and through car washes

When I picked up the truck I was not given a drop off location, although i had scheduled it online. The staff were very helpful and gave me a number to call to get the location. When I called that number later in the day, I spent 45 minutes online and never talked to anyone. I found it very frustrating to drop the car off at what I assumed was my drop off location and just hope that I didn't get charged anything extra.

When I first made my reservation, based on my miles it said est. $104, but when I was asked to sign it said est. $138. I had brought this up to the lady who was helping us and she kept saying that I had to sign to see a detail receipt. So I agreed and when the receipt printed it said est. 143! Now I know this is just an estimate but, to get 3 different totals in a matter of minutes is a little ridiculous! Then we had asked about a dolley and mats and we were told that they would be in the truck and to use them would be $10. When I got to my destination.... Nothing was in the back of the truck. So now we have been given a larger task to move each box individually. ALSO, I was told that it would be cheaper to rent the truck for "in town" rather than one place to another. But the estimate I got on one location to the next was $96. So she lied to me and I got screwed into paying more! Overall, we are very unhappy and don't think we will rent from this location again! You should not lie to your customers who are keeping you in business.
