did not get my truck for the time I was supposed to pick it up for. Waited an hour in line had to look for help. Very rude customer service. Never again will I do business with U haul.

I was reminded (by email) the day before not to be late in picking up the trailer - ready for noon. We arrived at 12:15 to be told that the previous renter did not return the trailer by 8:30am as they were required to do. I was informed that they had called us at about 11:00am to say the trailer would not be ready. We drove from Markham and left home just before 11:00am. I questioned the agent why I was not informed before 11:00am. No response. We were then told it would be ready by 3:30pm, as they expect the return to occur by 3:00pm. However, they would call me. I provided my cell phone number so that I may be reached by 3:00pm. At 3:20pm I tried calling the location only to be transferred to the Customer Support Desk. I think I spoke to Alice (? – her name is in our file) who kept me on the phone while she sorted out the details and was told a trailer would be ready as soon as I got there. We left immediately and reached the Uhaul location shortly before 4:30 pm. The agent was quite rude once we gave our information. He said he tried calling us to see if we still wanted the trailer since we were late. He said he couldn’t locate my cell phone number on my file (Should not be my issue, I did not enter it in after providing it). I was then told the trailer had to be returned by 12:00 on Monday. Really?? While the trailer was not ready on time, we had to deliver it back early? We had to argue with the agent at the desk to tell him we wanted to return it the time we rented it. He changed the time to 3:30 return. Upon returning the trailer, we parked it where your staff requested and then went into the building to let them know. We were told we had to remove it from our vehicle. I objected. I told them that we were instructed NOT to remove the trailer from the vehicle, now I am expected to do so. She huffed and said ok., lets go. Poor service at full cost – not even offered a discount of any kind! Service has a lot of opportunity for improvement. Tip #1 Don't change the FUCKING location with out informing the customer. I was a first time customer and was not very sure what to do. The employees should be more clear as to instructions. They just gave me my paper and turned their attention to the next customer without telling me what to do. I found myself standing around the lot looking for where I should go or who I should find to bring my van around. We almost drove off without our rented equipment (dolly) because the guy who gave us the van didn't put the dolly in the van and we had to ask him to give us a dolly which was already printed on the paper I had given him. Either signs should be clearly posted to indicate the next step, or employees should ask if the customer knows what to do before turning to the next customer.

The location was fine and the representatives there were professional and accommodating. The problem was that when I booked my rental, I was told that it would be at a location 20 minutes away at 9am. I then got an e-mail telling me that it was at Weston Road at 3pm. I was able to change it to 7am but still had to go to the farther location. When I called to ask why it had been changed and ask revert to to original reservation I had made, I was told that that's just the way it is. Other customers picking up their rentals at the same time had the same complaint. Don't tell us something is available at a certain time in a certain location if that is not actually the case. I was essentially lied to by your company. Lying to your customers is bad business practice and I will not be renting from Uhaul again, nor will I recommemd it to anyone.
