When I booked the van, the dispatch told me I could pick up my van anytime in the AM, so I went at 9:30 am and was told I could get a van until 10;30. Totally frustrating as it wasted my time and I then had to replan my whole day and had to make additional arrangments to ensure I could fulfill my commitments. This resulted in additional gas money for me. Wish the dispatch and the location were on the same page. Also the staff was not very empathetic and not very friendly. Thank you.

On Tuesday, July 28/2015 I rented a 17' moving van to move my daughter's appliances, a stove, two fridges, an upright freezer and a treadmill. I picked the truck up around 5:30 PM at the Regent Avenue location in Winnipeg, Manitoba and returned it around 11:00 PM that night. I locked the cab and also put my own padlock on the roll-up door latch to safeguard the appliance dolly which I had also rented that was inside. I left the padlock keys attached to the truck key ring and dropped them inside the drop-box on the building door. On Wednesday morning I phoned this same location to see if I needed to come down to settle my bill but was told that I didn't have to since I had already given my credit card number. I asked what the final amount was and was told $99.24. This also included a charge for furniture pads and the utility dolly at $5.00 for each. I told the lady whose name I believe was Francis that I didn't buy or use any furniture pads or use the utility dolly, so I couldn't understand why this extra charge, since it wasn't even on the original contract sheet when I picked up the truck. She could not explain it. I printed off a copy of the final receipt on-line and sure enough these charges were on there. I called back later that day, July 29 and spoke to another girl, not sure of her name, and told her of the problem. She said I would have to phone back in the morning, Thursday, July 30 and talk to the manager who was the only one that could do anything. She also said that when I call, if I got the message " all our people are busy serving other customers " , to hang up and dial again until I got through to the Regent Ave. U-Haul location. I never did get through after having tried this about five times and re= listening to all the same messages over and over. Finally waited on the phone again for about another 15-20 minutes trying to get through to customer service. At last a nice lady named Nancy answered and I again explained the problem. She said she would send an e-mail right away to the manager to call me back ASAP. She also gave me the number to the Phoenix, Arizona call centre If I didn't here back. Waited at home for another three hours and received no call back. Contacted the Arizona call centre and again waited for another 15-20 minutes and spoke to a lady named Tina who was trying to get to the bottom of this. While waiting for her to check on something I get a busy signal and was cut off. I call back again and wait another 15 minutes and get another girl. I tell her I was talking to Tina but was cut off. She tells me that I will have to get hold of the store manager to settle this. At this point I say thanks and hang up. Now, about 4-5 hours later, I drive back to the Regent Ave . location and speak to Richard Pawloski, tell him the problem, show him my original receipt and the new one with extra charges and explain again to him that neither did I purchase or use furniture pads or the utility dolly. I called to Regent Location at Winnipeg and someone called Elizabeth took the call. I just needed to change my reservation date and she took 29 minutes to do nothing! She took long time asking the telephone number, then my name. She said she could not find the information, and asked again for the same information, holding me up without any words, I put her in speaker and made another things at the same time. At the end she said "I got it, I have now your information and confirmed all my data" and said "so I will transfer you with the schedule team"..... so SHE DID NOTHING!!! I WASTED MY TIME AND AIR TIME. She transfered me with the voice machine and a customer service representative took the call and resolved it in 1 minute. So, I am wondering if people at this location is properly trained to take calls and change reservations, if not they have to transfer the call intermediately instead of figure it out how to pull the information in from the system. It was a really bad experience.

The only complaint I have is that when I returned the truck to this location, it was a little busy and there were only two front-of-the-house workers there. I was in line for quite a long time. So if there were another employee there, it would have probably sped up the process quite a bit. However, the staff members were friendly and did their best to provide good service. Totally understandable, and overall a very positive experience.

We couldn't drop off at the closest site in south Winnipeg unless we paid $50 because they had too many trucks already. We live on the south end of Winnipeg and had to drive all the way to the north end to drop off the truck. (Then we get charged for the additional miles.)

My trailer was not available at the appointed time for pickup but the representative at the time called the last renter reminding them of the drop-off. My drop-off time was updated accordingly. I had to wait alongside my relatives but we had no choice BUT to wait so it was fine.

The vehicle I rented served us well, but I did mention to the fellow on Monday morning when I came in to settle my account that the steering and front end need attention. It wanders on the road and the steering has a lot of free play, not very positive. I rented vehicles at this location in the past and never had any issues. This was the first time and I believe it shoud be looked at. Respectfully, G. Swyston.

The vehicle was not maintained well, and as a result the vehicle stalled 5 times and we waited over 40 minutes to speak with someone from customer service. As a result, many of the people that were there to help move, had to leave due to prior commitments and we ended up having to unload a 26' truck with 4 people. This caused stress and frustration, we realized that the vehicle was completely without coolant, this is unacceptable neglect. The only bright spot in our evening was the wonderful man at the uhaul location located at 515 Munroe Avenue ( Our new storage locker location) who did everything he could to help us.
