I needed to rent a 20' truck but nothing was available. I then asked about the 22' & 17' trucks, but they also were'nt available. I needed a large truck for the weekend. I was told the only truck availabe was a 14' truck at a Wilmington, MA location. I had no problem with picking up the truck at the Wilmington, MA location. But now I would have to make several trips with a smaller truck. U-Haul adjusted the mileage allowd because of the extra back & forth I'd have to do using a smaller truck to move. Per the rental agreement contract the truck was to be returned to 1614 Middlesex St, Lowell, MA location by Sunday, 09/28/14 by 6:41PM. This location closed before my drop off time. This made me feel a little uncomfortable because I wasn't made aware no one would be at the return location when I dropped off the truck. I had to leave the keys in a drop off box and just park the truck there. Other than that I would still recommend renting from U-Haul.

When I arrived for the rental, with a reservation that was confirmed 3 days earlier, they did not have a truck for me. They did eventually get me one but it was very stressful to be faced with the possibility of not being able to move because the reservation was not fixed.

I really didn't feel like the chart to re-fill the fuel tank was accurate. I looked at the chart and did what I thought it indicated to get it back to where it should be. It was 2 gallons off, and obviously I was charged fees for that. The gauge in the truck should have hash marks just like the chart on the contract does, otherwise it is not clear exactly how much you need to refill it. The staff was very nice when I picked up the vehicle, and the truck was very clean. The gas thing was frustrating, though.

Have a check in line for people who have reserved a vehicle instead of waiting in line with people wanting a vehicle.

Great service except I had to wait 20 minutes to be served. Clean, well maintained truck.

I rented a dozen furniture blankets and three of them were filthy and full of dirt even though they came wrapped in a pack of six. I used one of these blankets on my 50" plasma TV before we realized it was fill of dirt and it covered my TV with dust. Other than that everything else was clean and in good condition.

The lock provided did not work (indestructible plastic cover also prevented insertion of the key - well nobody can pick the lock, for sure). It took over a half hour to return the truck just waiting for the poor guy behind the counter to get to me. He was alone and clearly did not know all the ins and outs of the place and was on his phone getting direction all the time. In the end, I just left the key with him and got a receipt after the fact.

Just overall unprofessional environment. Check in process took much longer than necessary, despite my having filled everything out online previously. They needed to re-enter my address, my phone number 2X, and there appeared to be some confusion when I said that I was not relocating, I was just using the truck to move some items.

This is my first time renting a U-Haul. Thus, I don't have much to say about. However, I would like to see an improvement in staff efficiency. Customers who already make reservations online shouldn't have to wait in a long line just to pick up their rental vehicles; this is my utmost concern. Other than that, everything is good!

The truck had a defective door and came lose when ever you drove over a bump.

Great service in all ways. Van ran beautifully. One of the side doors was stuck shut. I worked around that problem--the only problem. The man who helped me was terrific--good-spirited, well-informed, very cordial and helpful. Thanks.

Tryed to extend my rental for an extra day and they said no way cuz the truck was reserved for somebody else. Manager was pretty rude and said if I was late droping off truck I would be charge an extra day plus 50 bucks on top of that. Really BS when you have 30 other trucks in the yard just sitting there.

The truck I was provided was pretty old and broke down on me after my move. I could not return it and had to call for roadside assistance. Fortunately, it broke down in my offloading location, but it did block the parking lot for the neighbors. The truck did not have a working AC either.

Some pieces of broken glass (largest about an inch and a half long) were left in the back of the truck by the previous customer. That said, the U-haul people were personable and provided courteous service.

Uhaul should create a database of regular customers to make re_orders easy and quick. I rent a truck every 3 weeks and each time Uhaul treats me like a stranger and I have to enter my info each time.

Deal with trouble customers on the phone at a time when there isn't a customer at the desk, on the clock, waiting for a key or a simple 30-second resolution.

Don't overbook trucks. Honor the times that people have trucks reserved for. Don't let the young woman who was working on the morning go 9/1/14 do customer service; she's not meant for it.
