I booked a uhaul a month before my move at the Kensington location as it was the closest location to my old condo and to my new condo. I arrived to pick it up to hear an employee calling the second contact to try to get ahold of the renter of the van I had rented. He was telling them the van needed to be returned as he had a $250 late fee and an additional $50 for every half hour it was not returned. I was told sorry for the inconvience and there was no other rentals at that location. The previous renters get the van for longer, this location pockets extra money for a late fee, and I am the only one who loses out. I was very disappointed with the customer service at uhual.

I was originally supposed to pick up the truck at the Ogden Gas station. Firstly the attendant at the gas station was clueless and later said, "oh, ok. Unfortunately the person who is supposed to return the truck hasn't showed up. " he then had to call Uhaul to find out what to do. Not sure why Uhaul sends people to this isolated and not so presentable location. The person who called me to tell me to go to the Blackfoot location had no courtesy to apologize for the delay and inconvenience. At the Blackfoot location, I felt the person who attended to me thought she was doing me a favor. This is a service I paid for and wasn't asking for a favor. Next time I will look at my other options.

This is the third time I have used uhaul and have a few recommendations to make regarding their services. First, I had a reservation to pick up a trailer at 9am, but had to wait over an hour in line. They really need to expedite the pick up process whether that be through additional staff (they only had two lines going) or through the use of technology where customers can do self check-in. Secondly, Uhaul gives you the moving trucks on an empty tank of gas. They do this because they know that it is difficult to bring it back on an empty tank because most people overfill and then Uhaul syphons the fuel out of the tank and uses it for their own purposes. In my estimation, this is bad business practice - almost on the verge of stealing.

Vehicle guage was in miles. Rate quoted was 69 Cents a km. The agent did NOT indicate what the rate per mile would be before I rented. This should always be done, before person rents vehicle in Canada..

The scheduling department was completely terrible. I booked a uhaul for Lethbridge but my booking got changed to Vulcan which is an hour away from Lethbridge. I then received a call from Lynn in the Alberta scheduling department who was extremely rude and she advised me that i will have to pick up the truck in Vulcan. She offered no explaination or apology for the inconvenience but was very short and extremely rude. I then called the customer service line and got an American lady who was very helpful and added a free day and extra milage to my rental. On friday the 28 i received a call Lydia in the Alberta scheduling department who was also very rude and did not even change my pick up time to 12pm as requested and Dale from Triton still thought that i was picking up the truck at 1030. I like the service that uhaul offers but from now on i will never book with u guys again or ever recommend your service to anyone. Infact i will recommend that no one use uhaul as the scheduling department has the worst customer service i have ever encountered. It is unfortunate as the people at the pick up and drop off locations were great. You guys should do something about that scheduling department as they are hurting ur business. I am also not sure why there is not a section to rate the people in the sheduling department and because of that i will give the worst rating to the pick up and drop off locations although they were great and this is not their fault. However due to the incredibly bad service from the scheduling department the overall experience was ruined and i will never endorse uhaul until.something is done.

I strongly suggest the company to fire the Ladies( two of them I believe one was called Carmen( a job lady),but when I asked her name she gave me another name, and the other was mature with glasses and really poor education) at the front desk; they can easily make the company lose customers. They were rude dealing with me and with two customers ahead of me in the line. We (one of the customer ahead in line)won't want to go back to this location. I know in Calgary is sometimes tough find people to work but a good company always should improve customer service since they are the face of business. Need more people at the service desk to help people in line. Having only two people serving customers on a Sunday, we had to wait over an hour to pick up the equipment. Customer service reps gave me inaccurate dimensions of the equipment twice. Better training and knowledge of the equipment might be helpful. We were charged double for our rental by mistake, and it was actually charged to a different customer's card. I was satisfied with how quickly the mistake was corrected after I contacted the store/ customer service, but I can't understand how the mistake happened in the first place.

I reserved the truck over a month in advance. We got word the just a couple days before that the truck wouldn't be ready until 6:15pm. We had everything booked for early that day so we had to rebook everything. They told us the best they could do was 3pm but still didn't get it until 5pm due to truck breaking down. This caused the move in to finish at 1am. I was livid. The only redeeming quality was the staff was alright. The system is atrocious however. The ability to reserve date AND time is sorely needed.

The truck had to be boosted to get started again after we had loaded up. We were told we should have called the uhual.Com people but when we have paid movers in am not going to have them sit there for a hour or more doing nothing. It almost didn't start when I went to bring it back again! When the key was out of the ignition, so there is no power to anything and I would hit the break, there was some kind of sound that sounded like gears not lining up properly. I also thought it was kind of cheap that the truck barley hard a 1/4 tank of gas in it. The lady said it had lots of gas as long as we were moving with in the same area... well what if we were not?? I understand that repairs and maintenance on these trucks is not cheap, but moving I stressful enough. I don't need to be worried about my truck not working properly!

This location messed up my return, and charged me twice for the same rental. There was no way of contacting the location directly - instead I had to go through 'Customer Service' 1-800 numbers that lead to a three hour run-around of explaining the situation over and over to people that could frankly care less. I've had a perpetually BAD experience with U-Haul, but this one is by far the worst. No accountability or service of any kind.

While I had no issues with the location itself, I'm still wondering how it works that when I booked a truck at a different location closer to my house, I ended up having to pick up the truck from here. What's the point of being able to select the location when I just get re-routed anyway?

I very much appreciated the friendly staff who handed over the truck. However, the staff at the desk who finished the paper work were unfriendly and one of them was very rude.
