  • Tommy and Juan were AMAZING!! They tackled three flights of stairs with my very heavy kind size mattress and living room credenza. Plus other medium to heavy items! I stored his number because I would DEFINITELY pay him to move anything I need moved again!! They also traveled outside of their area to unload me! Communication was excellent too! We were having issues with our u-haul reservation and they were very patient with us as we figured out our scheduled time together.   • 5 STARS ACROSS THE BOARD! Tommy and Mista were absolutely angelic for my moving experience. Another company cancelled on me 1030p the night before our scheduled service. I had anxiety behind finding another company on such short notice. I booked with Pack & Stack a few hours before I needed help and Tommy picked up the phone within minutes of me booking and said he could get the job done. They arrived and got right to work! Super professional, personable, reliable and incredibly fast. I was in genuine awe at how fast these guys were moving and got the job done especially in the heat of the summer. Great service ran by great people & for that this company will continue to excel. Great work. Thank you to Tommy and Mista! If you’re in Chicago definitely book with them they won’t let you down.

They are not the fanciest of movers, but they absolutely get the job done efficiently and effectively. AND even when it was raining they had the best attitude.   • The owner was super rude on the phone when I had to move the appointment a couple of hours due to UHaul not having trucks (they allowed me to make reservations for trucks but ended up not having them several times in one day). When I got explained that uhaul didn’t have trucks available twice, he said; if you can’t pay for the extra hour then just say that. I understand it’s moving season and it’s stressful, but he also sent me a nasty text message that he immediately unsent but I’d already seen it. In later interactions he was much nicer but I would’ve cancelled the service if he had allowed me to after the first interaction. The movers were really young and didn’t use any of the furniture pads I provided and mentioned they could use, but didn’t, and ended up scraping up one of my shelving units. It’s not an expensive piece of furniture but I have to throw or give it away now. You get what you paid for I suppose.

  • Pack & Stack made my move amazing! I have never been able to move that fast before! They were able to move everything from an 800 sq ft apartment into a unit with 4 flights of stairs in under 2 hours, including 15 min of travel. 5 stars well deserved would absolutely recommend!

  • Tommy and his team communicated quickly after booking and showed up on time and ready to help move. They moved efficiently but with care to ensure my items arrived at the storage facility safely. They were also familiar with the storage facility and knew how to unload my furniture, boxes, and other items in a way that saved a lot of extra space for me to add other items in the future.

  • I had a terrible experience with Pack and Stack Moving Company. During my recent move, they damaged multiple items due to careless handling. The biggest loss was my 65-inch Samsung TV. I specifically asked them to wrap and handle it carefully, but it was not properly protected and arrived completely broken and unusable. They also tore my bed's box spring with a large crack and damaged my TV stand so its floors no longer close properly. What was even worse was their response. After I reported the damage, management essentially told me, 'Well, good luck,' instead of taking responsibility or offering a solution. They even suggested I might be trying to scam them, which was insulting. Why would anyone intentionally destroy a $500 TV just to make a false claim? Accidents happen, but their complete lack of accountability and professionalism is unacceptable. From the movers to the management, they were careless, unreliable, and irresponsible. I would not recommend this company.

  • On June 6th I hired this company and they came with no tools (Dolly Borrowed from my neighbor, Straps Went to buy ourselves) and No wrapping material for furniture items. I spoke with the owner and said i have a double stack stainless steel Lg washer and dryer and he said that would be an extra $50 and he would send another guy to assist with the safe move of it said fine because of course im not leaving it there. A few of my items got dings but Im not concerned with that. That same said washer&dryer was destroyed by his movers. I paid $2,000 for this item and had a 6 year warranty (4 years left). When i google the prices now it’s way over that amount. The owner told me to go through the resolution center and we can make a payment plan for the damages. I filed that claim on June 9th it has since closed with no response or resolution from Owner. Would recommend another company with more experience. They are untrained beginner movers great for boxes and non fragile items in my opinion.

  • Pack & Stack were a tremendous help during my move. I was moving into a downtown apartment on the 20th floor and when the movers were taking my belongings up one of the elevators went down. We lost our reserved elevator and they had to carry my stuff to a different tower, go up a different elevator and take a skybridge across while I was trying to coordinate with the building management. This went over my allotted time with them and they had to get other movers to cover their next assignment to continue with the move, with their overage charges being very reasonable. The movers at Pack & Stack really came through for me during a difficult move and I can't thank them enough.

  • Nope! I text several times the location of the first move, He kept saying That I the customer doesn’t want to work with him. They hung up on me many times. I texted I think you don’t want to work with me the customer because you can’t even give me an estimate arrival time. They keep telling me to find someone else. They accuse me of not giving them the correct address when its written 4Xs They just didn’t want to go to Berwyn. After agreed That they couks start at the 2nd Chicago address only then that they decide to keep this agreement to move our stuff. they kept dropping boxes, 1 with food, fell all on the ground. Poor stacking the truck. We get to the 3rd location final unload and the owner was arguing with my daughter. My son-in-law had to do a lot of moving since they did not put boxes into rooms. I paid 7 hrs so the could move exercise bike in Berwyn they never went back so I wasted 1 hrs! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Rude unprofessional Disrespectful I didnt honor original agreement

  • One small comment is that the two young guys can use a little insight on how to pack efficiently. I had to leave some items behind that could’ve been included in loading my UHaul if the packing had been done correctly. I still cash tipped them generously because they tried, and it was raining.

  • The 2 movers that assisted were fine, my fiance was there to help assist with the move. I'm only upset because my walls in my new place are damaged. The main stairwell & the 3rd floor. I reached out to the owner he act as if he was going to assist and informed he would reach out later to help. Never reached out I gave him a call-text and his response was not helpful at all. I sent him proof of the damage as well as proof of the site where it doesn't allow you to make additional coverage purchase and he just didn't respond after. I was even fine with paying for extra hours because I utilized the service, I didn't argue or complain I made the payment. I reached out to U-Haul to assist because these damages I have to come out of pocket, I was advised to leave a review & continue with the dispute process. I am very upset with this because I wanted to resolve this issue with the company but it's been 48 hours and I have yet to receive a response.

They loaded up our 15’ U-Haul from our first floor 2 bedroom apartment and unloaded it into our new 2 bedroom apartment on the 3rd floor.   • My daughter was moving from Chicago to Philadelphia all by herself. It was something no one person should have to do. Tom & Kevo were great! It started off a little later than expected but they were in communication with her and went above and beyond soon as they arrived. I gave 5 stars even when running a little late. That's how good they were to her. They helped her take apart her bed (not a typical bed frame) and removed her TV that had been hung for her when she moved in. After, they hustled to get the truck packed! They made it so my daughter didn't want feel so alone!

  • We reserved two movers for four hours, but less than a quarter of our belongings were loaded by the end of that time. Our confirmed 9 a.m. start was pushed to 10 a.m., and despite being told boxes would be brought to the lobby before we arrived with the truck, nothing had been moved. The movers appeared inexperienced, moved slowly, and didn’t use the rented dollies. The owner was initially condescending and blamed us, but changed his tone after reviewing camera footage and seeing our cousin helping. The movers caused additional problems, including damaging the blinds by stacking a heavy box on soft items, causing boxes to fall and block pathways. They also left the truck door open, resulting in a missing dolly, left belongs wrapped in 4 U-Haul blanket that we had to return, and left boxes blocking path way. Overall, the experience was inefficient and unprofessional.

  • Two movers arrived, and one of them smelled strongly of weed. To make matters worse, several of my belongings were damaged during the move, including my $2,000 sofa, which was torn beyond repair. Although I offered them as many breaks as they needed, they showed no care for my items and just wanted to finish the job and leave.

  • Chardae and Mike were excellent throughout the move, especially Chardae. She was so analytical and precise about how to fit everything from my storage unit into my Ford expedition, including a whole loveseat! It was packed in the most efficient way possible and was done well enough that there were no problems with shifting or moving boxes during my four-day drive from Chicago to Texas. Great work, I was so grateful to them both for helping me. Went by really fast and they were really capable.

  • Initially was caught by surprise to not see Tommy show up for the job after that’s who texted me all week and was on a schedule he sent me. But the movers PJ and Chris were on time and worked hard. Very nice young men. They were not provided any tools to help in the move, like a dolly would have been nice for them. They had to hand carry all my boxes and furniture down a tight hallway into a small elevator and then down another long hallway to get to my apartment. Hard work but they got it done and on time. They were a little rough with some of the pieces that were valuable and probably could have been handled with care by more professional movers, but again they were doing their best to get some heavy things through tight corners of an old building. I would recommend them and I thank them for their effort. You hear a lot of horror stories about moving help in Chicago, they were definitely NOT one of those!

  • HORRIBLE experience. Could not emphasize how awful this company was. The movers not only broke part of the furniture but they tried to force a couch in and destroyed a large portion of drywall, as well as scraped the door frames and paint. I took pictures of the damage and brought this up to the company, and then got a phone call saying the movers claimed that it was me and my spouse who tried to force the couch (because we were watching when they were doing it). They absolutely refused to take any responsibility. There was never an apology or any compensation for all of the damage done. I was scolded on the phone for not paying for safe haul and told that the damage was entirely my fault. HIGHLY encourage you to look elsewhere, I trusted the previous reviews and heavily regret it.

  • The two Pack and Stack employees were, unprofessional, incompetent, and unmotivated. They failed to properly introduce themselves. They spat every 30 seconds, including indoors. They were physically slow, and failed to properly plan how to load the truck. After 30 minutes, they both took a 1 hour break while one used the bathroom. Half of their time was spent sitting and taking a break. One spent a quarter of his time taking a bath in my kitchen sink. One of them vomited outside the back door. As their initial 3 hours came to an end, I was pressured into paying them with cash or venmo, with no mention of adding hours via the Uhaul app. I tried to hire competent movers for the remaining time, but there was no time. They damaged much of our furniture, and failed to pack several items which we had to leave behind. Dragging, scratches, unutilized packing space in truck. I did a third of the labor, totaling 86 flights of stairs while they did nothing. I want my money back. Hundreds lost.

  • The movers were super friendly and kind. I appreciate them both as people. They worked really hard. However, we experienced some significant damage to our items during the move. We rented a 26’ truck, and it was about half full; however, our belongings weren’t placed so that they wouldn’t shift. I bought MANY moving blankets and very few were used - many items of furniture were scratched because the blankets weren’t used. Now, I’m not sure if this was from the loading or unloading moving company - this is an important caveat - our mattresses were removed from the bags. I’ve moved 8 times in the last 8 years (and my husband and I each moved twice annually before that), and we’ve never experienced so much damage, whether we hired labor, a driver, a U-Haul, or did it all ourselves. It’s frustrating to pay for a service and have more damage than we’ve ever had doing it on our own.

  • I moved my things a little less than two months ago into a storage unit. Today I moved all my things out to find out my tv was completely shattered and dressers were broken. One of the movers stated it was his first day. I’m sure I can’t file a claim on this since this was nearly two months ago but I’m just now finding out. I DO NOT recommend this company, definitely not worth it. Not professional for hiding the damaged furniture as well.

  • I felt the move was very slow. I've used many moving companies in the past and was amazed at how fast they were able to load a truck. I think movers should come with at least a few tools! I feel like if my daughter and I hadn't been helping, they would have had trouble configuring everything spatially. Also, they wanted to ride with us to the second location, which we couldn't do as the front seat of the truck was full and her car had the dog in it. They were going to take the train, but that would have taken an hour, so we paid for the uber for them to ride, which was counted in their hourly total, and was an additional expense. I think this should have been communicated in advance. The guy were VERY polite and respectful, just didn't seem to be motivated to move quickly and couldn't problem solve the issue with the couch not fitting and we had to repair damaged walls to my daughter's new apartment. They were both tipped very well in cash for their time and efforts

  • The company has no liability insurance and gas lights you if you tell them their workers broke something, responding, 'my guys didnt do that'. i cant beleive that was the response after breaking a leg off a credenza, dropping a Fragile box, and stacking an end table on a smaller table whose legs snapped off completely by simple acceleration. movers sent photos of damage to the boss and supposedly stated, 'i dont want to be blamed for this' as the owner relayed to me. huge difference between taking responsibility for something your actions caused and being blamed. No responsibility taken by owner or workers. Childish. Angrily called me when i offered his workers breaks to go get some fast food. The workers came back with no food and re stated that the owner doesnt allow breaks. Workers failed to securely pack truck. $1200 piece gone. Common sense would say just put the table down on the floor... as there was no more to pack... stack and pack will stack things to a fault.. no bueno.

  • Communication was thorough -even at odd hours of the night on my part and they were accommodating last minute. A bit more care when handling expensive items would have been prudent, but were rectified once brought to the attention of the team (I will say the items were large and on the heavier side and in hindsight I should have had the items pre-bubblewrapped and wrapped before hand). The items I did verbally point out were important and others marked fragile were in deed well handled. They made up for it with extra manpower and I am thankful I was able to move because of their assistance.

  • Besides breaking several (EXPENSIVE) pieces and now hearing that they are not insured... the guys were great. The fact that are not experienced movers wasn't a problem, but when they would be subject to injury due to poor management and broke my brand new expensive furniture and now ghost me.... That's a problem. Great for local boxed less-valuable merch, but pay the extra money and hire professionals for anything valuable.

  • The “owner” of pack and stack showed up late. He and his helper began moving our couch out of our apartment, damaging two walls and our refrigerator. The owners helper then climbed on the back of the couch and I asked him not to do that as it could tear the fabric. They immediately quit the move and said they were done and not going to finish. After, I received a text message from the owner stating, “ Ive documented why I’ve cancelled your move unfortunately however you should be subject to a full refund we do not tolerate racialism nor discrimination against our employees being an independent contractor I have 0 tolerance” This man is lying and gaslighting us in hopes that we would be fearful to come forward with the truth of the incident, because he did damage to our property and is uninsured. Had the owner just said he didn’t feel comfortable continuing because of the damage we could have worked with him to rectify the situation with our landlord. Instead he created an insane

  • Movers were an hour late and we were working with a tight timeline. Many belongings, including brand new furniture, ended up scuffed even though furniture blankets were provided. Movers were hired with the intention to move the heavy stuff we couldn’t and the majority of the furniture was left behind after the 2 hours. Boxes were placed upside down and thrown around. I requested him to leave space to add about 8 more boxes, and he did just that! He was very communicative leading up to the day before he arrived. The job was for 9am and Tommy arrived at 830am. He was so efficient and able to complete it ALL by 910am. This is the best service and I couldn't be more appreciative.

  • I tried to move the time to 10:30am from 9:30am and the representative or person I was messaging stated they already submitted the schedule for the week and cannot change it. I changed the date on the U-Haul website to Tuesday and the same person was not flexible and said he will decline the request unless I had the movers sit at my house at 9:30 and wait until 10:30 Monday. This takes away one hour. I even apologized for the inconvenience and they did not even acknowledge me.

  • DO NOT BOOK with them unless they improved since this review. The owner of the business said specifically 1pm sharp. When the time came, he told me that his movers were delayed from an earlier move which is understandable cause moving companies usually give a 2 hour window instead of saying sharp, however they were 2 hours late showing up at 3pm. The owner also doesn’t answer phone calls unless called multiple times. Texts response is also delayed during the 1pm time. The owner gave me the two movers’ number and they said they didn’t even find out about the move till 1pm which means the owner never planned ahead of time for our move even though he told us sharp and confirmed the address the day prior. This is not good business management at all. The movers only spoke Spanish and took public transit bus to get to the address as they have no own transportation. If I didn’t know Spanish, I wouldn’t know how this process would’ve been communicated or done. I definitely do not recommend

  • The 2 young men had boundless energy and arrived at location before I did. I was very pleased with their courtesy and willingness to do whatever was needed to get the job done. We weren't quite ready to move and needed help packing and they eagerly offered to do so. We had to keep extending the time beyond our first reservation and there were no complaints. They extended a few more hours to get the job done. They even dismantled the large Africa sculpture on the wall. They treated the items very carefully as well. Highly highly recommend.

  • We all arrived to my home at 1130am the adult male left and the two teenagers unpacked truck I called the adult male to see if he could come back to help because we only had a hour and thirty minutes and he sent me a series of unprofessional texts messages and never returned to help with move The two teenagers were inexperienced so I had to assist with the move again The two teenagers finished unloading everything in my home at 128 pm and we headed back downstairs At 134pm The adult male sent me a text saying he was calling the police and a screenshot of one of the teenagers phone showing he had called 911 At the same time 134pm I sent the payment codes I think he thought since he was unprofessional and wasnt present for the move that I wasn’t going to pay him I will never use the U-Haul moving help service again The only reason I didn’t do all poor for rating because the teenagers were nice and professional

  • I asked the Pack Stack to come to U-Haul at 830am and they arrived at 850am I informed the contact person that my window to move in was 11am -1pm I had to assist with the moving and we still didn’t finish packing 2 U-Haul lockers 2103 2107 that were only half filled into 17’ U-Haul truck until 1048am so this put me behind There was one adult male and two teenagers

  • Tommy was incredibly uncommunicative. I was very clear on my move in date and the freight reservation. He overbooked his team and made promises he couldn’t keep. The two movers that showed up were minors, and while they were incredibly helpful, it was obvious they were not professionals and exhausted. One of my pieces of furniture was damaged so bad it had to be thrown out. Overall, I’m glad it got done, but it was a very painful experience.

  • Do not hire them. They were incredibly unprofessional. Moved so slowly. Fought with each other and one mover just left. They truly made my move an anxiety attack.

  • When I called to confirm my desired move time, he told me earliest he could do was 10am. I sent him a text message with my address, and the time, but he did not respond and confirm. Five past ten the next morning, I called and it sounded like I had just woken the mover up. He said he'd be there in 30 minutes which stretched into 2.5 hours because he didn't go to the correct city. I called him multiple times and he did not answer my phone calls or texts, and did not alert me to the situation at hand. Finally I got through to owner of the company and he helped to rectify the situation. When the movers showed up at 12.25, they were all children - 15 & 16 years old. Sure, they got straight to work, but they were pretty careless with my furniture. The reason I hired professionals was to avoid scuffing my furniture down my narrow staircase, but they were not careful, and did scuff a few pieces of my furniture. I ended up getting on the road 4 hours later than planned.

I ended up getting more help than needed and I felt so appreciative. They were all very professional! Recommend their to anyone you won't regret!

  • Tommy contacted me earlier yesterday to confirm details, I specified I did not have a u haul truck. Clearly in text committed to 1pm. At 2pm c called and said he will be at 3pm. At 2.14 he texted refusing to load any truck but u haul. I confirmed I had Penske because that was available. And he said he did not load because he works with uhaul. Confirmed that I had uhaul code. I was blocked and messages were undeliverable.
