These guys were fantastic. I booked them the day before for a 67 mile away move from senior living to memory care. We didn't need a lot moved but there was a lot to work around. They were careful, efficient, communicative and they made a stressful day so much easier. I am so grateful.

Excellent movers! Considerate with my belongings, fast, and they packed the heck out of the too-small UHaul I had rented (a lot of Tetris to get things to fit, which they successfully did!). Would definitely use them again.

These guys were AMAZING! They showed up and moved an absolutely ridiculous amount of heavy stuff at LIGHTNING SPEED. I’m still trying to figure out how they managed to get so much done in so little time! They were friendly, kind, professional, and unbelievably efficient. They worked their tails off and made a miserable job look ridiculously easy. My only regret is that I didn’t hire them for longer! Seriously, if you need movers, THESE ARE YOUR GUYS. Worth every penny and then some. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

The job was originally schedules for a day later though a U-Haul truck rental changed my schedule. The Local Boys were flexible and could move the unload to a day earlier. The reschedule job was to start at 130pm and the unloading team did not arrive until 400pm, granted their late arrival was associated with a previous morning job and they needed to take a ferry across the water to get to our job. Although they communicated regularly along the way though it did made our move-in late in the day. Also, they were schedule for a 3-hour job though were finished in under 2 hours and were not flexible in reducing their fee for the hour in which they did not provide services - stating we had a contract for 2 helpers for 3 hours...just something to consider when there are others out there who are genuinely aware of the costs associated with moving.

I was so grateful for Cornelius and Brandon's skill and kindness during the move, even though I got in hours later than planned and they had to move many things in the dark. I didn't even have to worry about them bringing things in and was able to enjoy thinking about where things were going to go and taking care of my two scared kitties while they handled the rest. They even warned me about a family of raccoons that they spotted in my new yard, which was really nice of them. They really cared, knew what thy were doing, and made it happen against all odds (namely, the dark!). They worked late into the night and when I couldn't back up my U-Haul with the trailer, Cornelius even got in and backed it up for me. It really meant a lot and I highly recommend their team (Local Boys) for your next move. Thanks again Cornelius and Brandon! Lanelle

They wrapped it up so that it was well-padded on every side, and they maneuvered it down two sets of steps. I was impressed! What a great team!

During the move, the movers were clearly purposefully slow to try and get me to spend more money on extra time above the 2 hours. There were multiple instances of them waiting around until I went downstairs to the u-haul to check on them. I also saw them sitting on their phones during the move time, and clear time wasting tactics during unloading like acting as ‘a gentlemen’ letting me go through a door first when in reality they are just trying to slow down the process. When paying for professional moving help, I would expect them to be fast and efficient, especially when the service they offer is already expensive. Given that, I’d recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Cannot recommend Local Boy Movers enough! From start to finish, the crew was unbelievably polite and professional. They showed up right on time and worked hard the entire day, constantly checking in to ask what more they could do to help. It's rare to find a moving company that genuinely cares about making the process easier for you. Randomly selected a team when I moved from out of state. This is my third review. I will speak for myself. I don’t know why I very rarely ask for help. Maybe I do l, but I always just try to figure it out myself. After they helped me move I was so grateful. I had another load left a few days later. I kept telling myself I could do it on my own. My movers were very patient and accommodating. It took me awhile to figure out how to get into my new building and parking garage bay. On top of that I moved in after hours and the building didn’t lock the elevator per my request. My guys just rolled with the punches and made it all happen. They noticed the smallest of details and communicated through the move. Also very funny, kind, and great personalities. I didn’t rent a big enough truck in Portland and had to drive back the next morning to get the rest of my things. I was able to pack the remaining items in my SUV. I was so impressed and appreciative that I just booked again to help unload my car this week. So a big big thank and blessings from a single mom with her daughter moving to Seattle.

Furniture moving itself was fine, but the scheduling and billing were a mess. Scheduled for 8am at my original address, I didn't hear from them until ten thirty am, and by the time they showed up, so much time had passed they missed the first address entirely and met me at the second one instead. I ended up loading the U-Haul myself since I couldn't just wait around. Their service requires you to rent your own van, so their delay put me at risk of extra rental fees. I'd booked a generous window, but a shorter one would've cost me more with U-Haul because of their lateness. They only worked about 30 minutes once they arrived, but charged me the full two hours, $376 total, and my card was charged 5 days before the service even happened. When I asked for a discount given the late start, missed address, and self-loading, they refused. They also asked me not to mention the lateness in this review. Competent movers, but unreliable scheduling and no accountability.

Brandon and Cornelius were exceptional. They took amazing care of our things, were fast and incredibly flexible. They even brought their own ratchet straps, dolly, and moving straps. Even when we didn’t have things shrink wrapped and when we ran out of moving blankets, they used our extra cardboard and other soft items to buffer. The Tetris skills of these guys, too!!! There was not one unused inch in our moving truck. Unparalleled work ethic and honestly, just all around great guys to have you help move. They went above and beyond for my family. Highly recommend them for your move.

Let me start off by saying it was a pleasure having Brandon and Cornelius as our helpers. We have booked a reservation with their company through our U-Haul truck rental, and Cornelius immediately contacted me so there was no need to worry about whether the helpers were going to contact me. Both men had excellent teamwork and communicated with each other very well while moving back and forth. They were able to lift the heaviest items we had and unload them into the rooms we wanted in our new house. We were satisfied and gave each of them cash tip. 10 out of 10 for Brandon and Cornelius. Cornelius and his helper Earl performed excellently. Cornelius responded quickly to the initial booking to ask of best time of service convenient to me. We both had conflicting time slots but he was quick to resolve them. He arrived at my location early and got to work immediately unloading my U-Haul cargo trailer. These guys were challenged with moving some pretty heavy stuff up 4 flights of stairs in the middle of summer. These gentlemen were all over it. Communication was great. They actually care about doing a good job. I was really impressed. I work in construction and guys are often on their phones, dragging their feet, and clearly wishing they were somewhere else doing some other job. Not these guys. They did not pull out their phones the entire time until the end when we were processing the payment. I would hire them again with no hesitation. The other moving company I used to unload, because this was an out of state move, had 5 stars and is one of the highest rated on U-Haul website (in top 5) but I would absolutely not use the more famous ones ever again. They were kids who were on their phones, swearing, and carrying one thing at a time. Took forever, and I had to manage them. I did NOT have to manage Local Boys. The truck was so well packed I could have fit twice the amount of stuff into it. They take pride in their work. Highly recommended.

I had 2 hrs 2 helpers scheduled for a 2 br apartment where 1 bedroom was mostly empty as we moved those items earlier. Most of the boxes were packed and furnitures were wrapped. But it still took them 3 hrs to just load. They did a decent job of loading, so I paid a $30 tip to later find out that they left a few items in the closet. Took me another 1.5 hrs to load those myself. Overall, I would not recommend them in the future.

The two gentlemen that were sent over did an absolutely wonderful job, they made great use of the van's space and got the job done in the exact amount of time allotted, while being very very careful with my belongings by ensuring they were protected. I scheduled Local Boys Movers for a 2-hour window to move some heavier pieces of furniture and boxes after a recent move. I was very pleased with the service they provided. I had a fantastic experience with this moving help service! They came fully prepared with their own dolly and rope, which was a big plus. Despite us having almost three flights of stairs to navigate, they worked incredibly fast and efficiently. Even though our place is a studio, we had a ton of stuff; queen mattress, 6 large furniture pieces, 10 big boxes, and more and I was really anxious about everything fitting in one trip, especially since we only had two hours of their time. However they packed it all into a 10-foot U-Haul perfectly in just on time. And on top of that they’re not just fast, they packed everything so skillfully and tightly that it all fit perfectly like tetris so satisfying! We didn’t even need to supervise them, they handled everything professionally, which we really really appreciated. Highly recommend their services for anyone needing reliable and efficient movers! Reviewing this move is challenging. Both movers were very nice, and our stuff made it through the move fine, but they wound up taking a lot of extra time on unnecessary things. Like, they took the time to cardboard and wrap some of our furniture to protect it, but outside of three bookcases, none of that furniture needed to be wrapped at all. Some of the choices were odd (wrapping an ancient ugly coffee table, but not a carved cedar chest, etc.), and maybe the furniture wrapping was meant to be due dilligence, but I would think due dilligence includes checking with your client before doing things that will significantly impact the timing and cost. It should not have taken almost 3 hours to load a small 2-bedroom ground floor apartment. We didn't hire movers because we're loaded, we hired movers because of a knee injury and a toddler, and now we're out an extra $400. That's 2 weeks of groceries, but hey, at least our Ikea dresser made it unscathed?

I was so impressed with the Local Boys Movers. I live all the way out on whidbey island and they made the extra trip and arrived early with a smile! It is sometimes hard to even get contractors to come over the ferry. They moved like an efficient machine and got my house packed quickly, neatly, and safely. The day before the job we received a call confirming the unloading service would start at 4. They called at 3:45 saying they were "a few minutes behind" in their jobs and would not get there until "perhaps 5:30?". 5:45 comes around with no phone call or update of any kind. We call them 3 times and finally get a response. They would not be to us until 7/730. During these phone interactions, they were very short and unapologetic to me and very rude to my wife. By 7pm (3 hours after our scheduled time) we had unpacked the uhaul ourselves so told them we did not need their services.
