They helped us re-park the U-haul to a better position for our move and often asked where we wanted boxes and items in the home while unloading. Cherry City Movers was also proactive in asking when we needed service and what items were being moved after we booked them.

  • The moving crew assigned to my move were excellent and were great to work with. I would highly recommend they get a raise! They are hard workers and I would request those 2 specifically for a future move. For the pre-move coordination with Kyle, I was not as impressed. He is difficult to understand during conversations. When he answered his phone, he mumbled and I didn’t know what was said or who I was talking to. I wish he was easier to collaborate with. I am still leaving 5 stars but customer communication could be improved. Tip provided directly to the crew.

  • Jonathan contacted me ahead of time to confirm address, details, and time of arrival. He arrived with Marco, both are very professional, tactical and move swiftly. I’m grateful for the 24 hour notice and being able to accommodate my move. As a single person, moving can be a difficult task yet my move was easier with their help. It was time and cost efficient, we had 2 hours and did it within the allocated time. I will surely hire Cherry Movers to do it again. Jonathan and Marco were great!

Talking to 3-4 different people though with messages not getting relayed to the actual moving team accurately for equipment needed to be moved, details given from initial text was frustrating and created issues during the move. Stated leg press was needed to be moved and was at a business and needed to be loaded unloaded and again loaded and unloaded but the guys had no idea upon arrival.

  • The company communication was poor. But the movers themselves were great. I booked this service a week before the service was needed. Initially the communication was good, confining service and time needed. On the day that the movers were needed I reached out to the company for confirmation-they didn’t reach out to me and the time slot that I had requested and had confirmation of moved from 1030 to all of a sudden 1pm. I only had the moving truck until 7 and had to move into my storage unit by 6. The movers then showed up at 1330 because the company overbooked their morning. I was then not able to get into my storage unit and had to pay for an additional rental for the truck and paid movers to return the next day. Kyle was frustrating to work with as he didn’t take ownership of their bad scheduling. THE MOVERS- Jonathan and Marcus WERE GREAT! I HAVE NOTHING BUT GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT THEM. The company - No. They shouldn’t overbook and promise services and times they can’t provide.

  • Wow! Jonathon and Carlos are rock stars. The company communication was simple and attentive. The day of move, Jonathon was on it. He was professional, personable, and a pleasure to deal with. Carlos was great as well. They worked as a team. And was nothing short of getting the job done. You can tell they work well together. They did the job in a timely manner, actually fast, I paid for 2 hours, and they completed in just over an hour. They stacked my belongings perfect. They were very nice and I felt trust with them, which makes a huge difference when they are handling my life. I would highly recommend this company and you’re lucky if you get Jonathon and Carlos.   • Kyle did not communicate well initially, arrived almost 2 hours after Jonatan had arrived. I told Kyle via text the day prior I would home by 9AM with the moving truck. I didn’t not receive a message back re the arrival day of. Kyle called day of the move (today) & shared he was a single father & would be bringing his 5yr old daughter with him. I empathized verbally & called the U-Haul I had rented & extended the rental another hour to accommodate Kyle. When Kyle showed up he used language that made me uncomfortable, he spoke about situations where folks were acting like, faggots (his words) & were retarded (his words). His daughter was appropriately 5yrs old, running around, jumping on my white furniture with her dirty shoes, leaving chips on the storage unit floor during the unload. I watched Abigail for Kyle while he & Jonatan moved. At the end of the unload while I was solo w Kyle inside the 9912 SE Division Stoage Unit, Kyle asked me if I was single. This made me so uncomfortable.

They had a lot of heavy boxes on my part to lug up and down stairs, but they were champs. Zero complaints and they were thoughtful enough to make sure I had things where I needed them. I can't move very heavy things on my own with a connective tissue disorder. I can't say enough good things. They also had a very positive energy and attitude. That helps a lot, too.   • Totally REGRET hiring Cherry City. They only had to move a very nice $$ Stickley sofa into my house. Barely 20 mins. work. Totally forced sofa through my front door which resulted in paint from front door on the sofa wood! Unfortunately, I was stressed, and didn't notice until I had given payment code. You are SO LUCKY I didn't take photos of damage to my door AND sofa, because it was a clear case Cherry City f'ed up! p.s. it was your assistant that didn't care, not you.

  • Kyle and his team were absolute life-savers for my move out day from my downtown apartment. I’m a pretty small girl and had a fair number of furniture that needed to be moved into a storage unit. The circumstances of my move were littered with heartbreak and difficulty, all the way until the day the movers actually came. Once Kyle and his team were here, my fears of handling my move alone immediately dissolved and I started to feel my first sense of relief through the whole process. Even when there came the point where we realized the moving process would take two trips, the men made everything feel easy and safe for me the entire time. I especially appreciated the efforts they made to follow right behind me as I drove a U-Haul for my first time. I truly felt like I had the best back-up I could’ve gotten for this whole process. I’m planning on booking them again when I finally move out of my current situation, and for any move after that.

  • We had Jonathan and Shawn (I think?) to help with our move. This is our 2nd move in under 3 years and they did more in just over 5 hours as a team of 2 than the last moving company with a team of 5. That experience was miserable. The communication prior to the move was as expected and fairly standard. They were only 15 minutes later than the arrival window, which wasn’t any issue for us. They were courteous and respectful. They went above and beyond in their duties and appeared to exercise caution when moving boxes and furniture. We were moving most of the house to storage with some things going to our new house and I was unsure the extra items we needed to add to the storage unit would fit. But, they made it happen. I will absolutely reach out to Cherry City Movers for our next move, should it be within Oregon. Even after 25 years with military moves, I don’t recall a time when I was happier with the experience.

  • I booked the move on Friday for Easter Sunday so I will give a little grace. Communication before the move could have been better and the movers didn't make the meet up time, so 4 stars, but once we connected at the storage shed everything worked out. Shawn and Jonathan were nice guys and hard workers, and respectful of my stuff.

  • Will not ever use Cherry City !!! The movers ended up being 2 HOURS LATE than the scheduled time. There was NO COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE ACTUAL MOVERS AND MYSELF to let me know directly what was happening. This has never with other past companies used . Had to text the company the company to find out what was going on. They told me that the workers had called me and I had no record of them calling me. If you book with them only book with the necessary 2 hours because it's highway robbery when I thought it may take 4 hours!!!!! Workers were efficient and courteous and fast. But the company sucks!!!!

Fixed up my wobbly furniture and helped me set everything in the right rooms and places, made sure the box truck was cleaned out and completely empty.   • The movers were great! Showed up on time, moved fast, super friendly, and we got the job done in record time. However, there was only one option to reserve the movers for 3 hours, and I only. needed them for an hour. I was charged $250.95 for the labor, plus hopefully I will get my $5.95 refunded for writing this review. There was no option to change the amount of time needed to reserve. I hope some of that $245 goes to the 2 folks who showed up !

  • I’m stunned. I’ve hired movers 4 times previously - but no experience can hold a candle to this one. First of all, the price. Their rates make hiring help affordable for people like me who need to do the job but suffer from health issues. I got the 26’ truck loaded, but my body just couldn’t unload it. I booked early evening and promptly received a messsge from Kyle confirming and asking for pertinent info so there was no confusion. At the exact time window promised, Alberto and Miguel text to let me know they had arrived and were waiting at the job site. After giving them a short rundown of where I wanted a couple things, they dove in. Their system is refined, they work quickly and efficiently - and Miguel could teach a Masterclass on maximizing and organizing space. He neatly packed my unit while Alberto supplied a constant feed of items. They make it look easy, though we all know it’s not. Prompt, kind, skilled. Perfection is what they were. Highly recommend!!

  • I would not recommend using this company if you decide to use your own vehicles and not a uhaul. They advised that I was the first customer to do this and that everybody else who was moving similar items I had, used a uhaul, though, there were several vehicles available and planned for this process. What I needed was the man power and muscle to move things out of my existing place and into my new place. They loaded a part of a couch, a boxspring and a bed into a truck but advised that we shouldn't put the tailgate down - despite the fact that we had straps and advised that the tailgate could be put down. The movers were combative stating, ''We're the professionals, I don't want to sit around and talk about it - you can either do it or way or we can leave''. Though I was appreciative of their assistance in moving things, there was a plan in place logistically that was not followed or appreciated. I did not get the help I hired to execute the plan.

I was very worried about how we were going to empty this apartment in time. We had two flights of stairs and a two bedroom apartment packed with heavy furniture and boxes. They arrived right on time, got it all done quickly, carefully and in just a little less than 3 hours in spite of the fact that half or more of our things were down a flight of stairs on our lower level. Mathew figured out most of the arranging of the first Ubox while Kyle and Jonathan kept the boxes and furniture coming. Once everything was up and out, Kyle and Mathew made good decisions about keeping the load balanced in each box and optimized to fill every space. We were grateful they had so much experience loading the boxes as it's our first time using them. We would use them all again, anytime, as they brought brains and braun to the task. Plus they are all nice guys who work hard, fast and efficiently. Definitely recommend!

  • Kyle did an outstanding job with his colleague, Jonathan. Kyle kept the communication going, let me know he was on his way, and got the load done in a faster timeframe than I expected. Everything was moved with care and attention to detail. He's particularly good at loading the truck and figuring out how best to arrange everything so it's all tight and secure. Nothing got broken or even shifted thanks to his skill. The unload went quickly and he had helpful suggestions there for how to arrange things to improve access to things being stored. He was flexible and since we were ahead of schedule, we stopped off at an unplanned stop to load a few more things. We will be using Kyle and his team again on a bigger move packing up 4 UBoxes next week. Highly recommend!

  • Communication needs a lot of improvement. I was literally calling the night before because I hadn't heard from this company and was afraid no one was going to show up. The 2 guys that moved my things only brought one small dolly between the two of them to move my furniture and moved extremely slow for such a small move. The one guy was training the other guy so the amount of time the move took was a lot longer than it should have been. Not something I should be paying $90 an hr for. My brand-new chair was ripped at the bottom because of how my furniture was handled and my new white bed frame was covered in dirt because they threw it on the bottom of the truck. I also had to give a ton of direction to save the integrity of my furniture. If you just have boxes or a few things these guys would be ok but definitely would not recommend to anyone with expensive furniture that requires extra care. The movers were nice but will definitely use a different company next time.

  • One of the movers was very professional and seemed to know what he was doing. The other seemed to be newer and had dragged a few items causing the leg of a cabinet to snap. The other mover reseated the screw in it, but it will need wood glue to hold up. The other mover seemed like he was just wanting to get the job done and wasn’t paying close attention to what he was moving around. Two clearly marked TV boxes were ignored by him including placing one flat on the ground even though the box said not to and the other piled behind multiple items leaning against it. Luckily neither TV got damaged, but I was not too happy with their handling. There was also a broken snow globe in the truck that my girlfriend wanted to clean up first before continuing to avoid issues, but the guy who was inpatient kept going quickly. Glass was tracked to multiple locations in the house and my girlfriend ended up with a shard in her foot and I with one in my hand. Not the best experience, but they got it done

  • We hired Cherry City movers for our move, and 2 employees showed up; 1 worked very hard, the other stood around and had to prompted. During the move the head mover strapped everything into place and confirmed our tvs were secure, I came out and asked and he assured me they were. They were not. All 3 were broke. Upon contact with the owner he took full responsibility and stated he would reimburse us for our loss, via text message. He did not. Our move was on 04.27.25 as of today no further response or reimbursement. I would not use Cherry City Movers again. I would not recommend Cherry City Movers. They asked that we give them a 5 star review. I was willing to do so as long as he did what was right and stay true to his word and reimburse us for our loss. We only asked for 2 of the 3 tvs to be replaced so as to not create too much of a financial strain on them. Which they agreed to, and have not. I would not hire them, nor recommend them.

  • Honestly, I tried repeatedly to give these guys the benefit of the doubt. I was afraid they wouldn't even show up, given the late night texts -- no calls or emails -- and long response time. 2 days before they called me at 10 45pm, with no voicemail left. When I tried to call them back the next day, no one answered or called back. So my expectations were pretty low when they showed up on moving day. From the beginning, virtually everything about my move appeared as an imposition, and there was this odd assumption from them that there would be a large number of items were NOT going, while I constantly said the opposite. They left an hour early, with several hours worth of work for us left before starting a 10 hour drive. On the other end, the packing was revealed to be dismal. Multiple pieces of furniture were damaged, at least one beyond repair, and what survived did so from OUR careful packing. Case in point, my dumbells were placed, loose, on top of everything else in the truck.

I prefer them because their team members are the best movers I have ever seen tetris boxes and furniture into a Uhaul van. They are quick, efficient, & kind. Shawn & Courtney amazed me. They really saved me when I had to schedule movers for the same day. They showed up half an hour after I made my reservation. They gave me a much needed break since I've been moving by myself for three days. Next time, I'm just planning on reserving help instead of trying to do everything by myself.

I lost my help with some friends that committed to help me move and was stuck with a U-Haul filled for a 2 bedroom apartment. Scrambling at 11pm at night I was able to get the communication needed and commitment to help me first thing in the morning on short notice.   • I am grateful to these guys as they did all the heavy lifting from desks to mattresses. U-Haul screwed up my reservation (booked 24 hrs after the truck rental) but Kyle was gracious enough to switch the reservation to the appropriate date. Alex particularly was really strong and did most of the heavy lifting. We were able to move the whole 2 bedroom apartment worth of stuff into our new home within the allocated time and had some extra time to spare. I highly recommend these guys.

  • The owner Kyle is unprofessional and dishonest his story kept changing about what was going on and what was going to happen. I was given a 9 to 10 start time and was told he would be there with a helper in 35 minutes at 10am, Jeff and his girlfriend showed up at 1140 ish. The girlfriend struggled with helping physically and Jeff stacked four 27 gallon totes at a time and drug them down the stairs. Jeff and his girlfriend fought and yelled and kept disappearing. They broke dishes, got my temper pedic matress dirty by draging it and ripped the mattress bag and set it on the floor exposed, stole my brand new rachet straps and scratched the brand new floors at my new apartment by draging my furniture . When I called Kyle to mention all this he tried to put the blame on me. He would compensate me only 200 of the 600  I paid only if I give him a 5 start review. The damage exceed that amount and he began threatening and harassing me. I have recorded phone calls for proof.

They broke multiple things on day of move that we watched happen(ripped couch, ripped mattress, etc) so now I have a full report of damage done. Mover was extremely chatty and unprofessional. Left garbage in my home, took an hour long break in the middle of the job, smoked cigarettes in my complex parking, made references to his genitalia, asked multiple times during the move for a tip while also complaining how I packed. 0 out of 10 would not recommended, made my family and I very uncomfortable. Didn’t complete move until after 9 pm and started job at about 3. This was a two bedroom apartment. I have use moving help a lot in the past and this was hands down the worst experience.

They stuck with it and got us loaded. Then followed us across town to unload. They tracked at least 10 miles that day but stayed until it was finished. Would definitely hire again... Kyle the manager or boss was in communication via text but would not answer the call. I paid for 5 hours but only got about 2.5. Kyle offered to give money back however he became rude when I inquired about such saying I said to give the additional 2.5 hours as a tip to J & T. This is not true and I would not give an 100 percent tip almost equal to the amount of hours you worked. Because you are charged for the whole hour I stated the rest of that hour was their tip. I feel as though I should receive 2 hours back as a refund as I paid for 5.

Things happen and I was more thankful that he was not the type to just blame it on something else and even acknowledge the mistake. Once Matt and his helper came they worked hard and took care of all my stuff. Was very happy with how they used the time and packed my truck. I’ve moved a lot due to my job and have had some very bad experiences with movers but this company really did an outstanding job.

  • Believe the 1 star reviews. Do not put your trust into these people. I could not get ahold of the company for a week. I requested your help and they finally responded. The person who texted me said he is having issues with his boss so he would not be helping for my move the next day. I again tried to get in contact with someone. The movers first arrived to the wrong address. They then took over 3 hours to move a small studio apartment and made me pay an additional hour through venmo. They damaged multiple plates, there is a huge gash in one of my dressers, they ruined a storage bag and they left another dresser falling apart. I again tried contacting the only through text and email with no response for days. The owner blamed me for the damages and said he will not refund me because he is having housing issues. I don't see how that is my fault. He is refusing to come to any compromise. He is completely unprofessional and rude. The cost for the items they broke alone were $115.

  • I had the worst time during my move because they broke every piece of furniture and at the end that was not resolved. Tommy was kind, but the other mover should never had been working. He had a broken shoulder from two months prior. He kept dropping everything and throwing boxes. They do not even have a business license after I looked them up to report them to the BBB. I hope that no one chooses them because they are horrible and do not care to know if there is problems with their guys and do not even take the time to resolve it. People watch out or you will find yourself in a law suite.

We did have an issue with one of the movers being really unprofessional and walking off the job. The lead mover was incredibly professional and tried to be encouraging to his helper. I called Kyle and he immediately fixed the issue and apologized profusely for the unprofessional mover (it was his first and last day). Once Kyle arrived to help finish the move, it went incredibly quickly and smoothly. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again!

When Kyle came in with his work buddy they were late bc of car issues. I understand things happens. What bugged me is when they looked at my stuff and the size of the truck and already assumed it wasn’t all gonna fit. I told Kyle it should bc I personally had put all the stuff in the truck moving up to Portland. I told him what I wanted as far stacking the boxes and not to stack things on top of my motorcycle. This guy just ignored everything I said! I was also kind enough to go to the store and get them something to drink bc it was humid. Kyle left his can crushed underneath the U-Haul. I kept hearing Kyle say I had so much shit, rly fucking rude imo. He lied and said he stacked everything he could and that we weren’t going to be able to take some stuff.   • I moved from Burlington, Vermont to Portland, Oregon using ubox last year. I had less stuff this time than before. I gave them specific instructions on how to pack the boxes in the ubox. They never listened and didn't follow instructions. My last move, the ubox had a lot of room left. This move where I have less stuff, they left a small table put and a large box. I can see they packed the ubox horribly. I don't know how they got a 5 star rating. Still gave them twent dollars each for tip. Didn't have time to redo what they did. It's sad and frustrating.
