Race Day Details
Come visit us in the campground for the Phoenix Grand Prix IndyCar Race at Phoenix International Raceway®. We will be on site from Thursday, March 31 to Saturday, April 2. As you spend the weekend at ZOOMTOWN®, USA, we will be refilling propane tanks for a $2.29 per gallon*, demonstrating propane safety tips, conducting safe-trailering demos and performing free towing inspections. Good Sam 500
What an exciting time we had at Phoenix International Raceway for the Good Sam 500 race. Kevin Harvick won in the closest finish in track history, but that wasn't the only excitement. U-Haul was on site to provide campers with propane refills to keep their tailgate parties going. You probably also saw us stopping by campsites to chat, have a good time, and spread the word on propane safety. If you missed us at this race, watch for us the next time you're at the track!
Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500
It may have been NASCAR great Jeff Gordon's last appearance as a driver at Zoomtown, USA, but it was a new adventure for U-Haul propane. We didn't let the rain slow us down as we refilled propane cylinders and made friends with race fans. The final race in the eliminator round of the Chase for Sprint Cup was a busy day for all. If you needed to fuel your heaters or cook up a hot meal, we were there to provide the propane.
Propane Safety Tips
- Transport your tank
- Transporting your propane tanks properly will ensure you have a safe trip to and from the races. Remember to keep your tank upright at all times unless the tanks are designed to lay on their side.
- Store your tank
- Many tailgaters bring extra propane tanks to power all kinds of propane powered appliances. It's most important to store these tanks properly to keep your family and neighbors safe. Keep tanks upright and uncovered in a well ventilated area outside your vehicle or RV. Choose a place that is away from flames and other ignition sources.
- Check for leaks
- Check your tanks for leaks to keep your family and neighbors safe. Apply a solution of non-abrasive soap and water with a spray bottle around your tank, on the valves and fittings, and around the connection hose. If bubbles form, there is a leak. If the tank isleaking, place it in a well ventilated area and contact a propane professional or fire department. If the hose is leaking, replace it a re-test before reconnecting your tank.
