Distracted Driving State Laws Infographic

Distracted driving is dangerous to everyone on the road.  According to the National Highway Safety Administration, in 2011 more than 3,000 people were killed in crashes involving a distracted driver. And, an additional 38,7000 people were injured in motor vehicle crashes involving a distracted driver.  This is why many states have put bans on driving while texting and/or using a handheld device.

You may be familiar with your home states laws on distracted driving but if you’re planning on driving out of state, it’s a great idea to know the laws on distracted driving in each state you visit.   The infographic below shows 3 U.S. maps which depict each states stand on banning 3 different types of distracted driving.
