Moving Back to Campus Safely

Jul 2, 2020

It’s that time of year when students gear up to return to school, leaving many wondering how they’ll move back to campus safely. As states reopen we’re still facing the concerns of COVID-19; many students are preparing to return to dorms for the next semester of college but wish to find a solution that allows for social distancing. We’ve outlined an option that students can consider to help them get back to campus safely and easier.

Moving Back to Campus Safely While Social Distancing
Students can avoid campus crowds on move-in days by allowing Collegeboxes to deliver their boxes to dorms. Crowds don’t allow for proper social distancing, and by avoiding this students are able to move back to campus safely.

Moving Back to Campus Safely with Collegeboxes Early Delivery Service

Schools and families across the country are looking for ways for students to return for the fall term while following CDC guidelines. Many campuses have plans to institute daily limits on the number of students moving into university housing. Collegeboxes has a way to help limit students and parents from congregating and risking their health while still making the move easier.

“To prevent students from gathering on campus all at once, Collegeboxes is encouraging the use of our Ship-To-School service,” said Dain Howell, Director of Collegeboxes. “With the Ship-To-School options, students don’t have to load up their car or lug items to the airport.

This Early Delivery option through Collegeboxes Ship-To-School service allows students to arrive on campus with their belongings already there. In other words, this makes move-in easier, safer, and avoids the crowds.

Preparing to Move Back to Campus Safely

First students and parents can sign up online at Collegeboxes.com for ship-to-school. Here students can opt to receive the Starter-Kit or use their boxes. The Starter-Kit comes with 5 boxes, tape, a marker, 5 zip ties, and 10 label pouches to help make packing easier. Also, the boxes supplied are double-walled to help further protect students’ belongings.

Pro Tip
: Students who need more boxes can visit their local U-Haul center.

Once the boxes are packed and labeled, arrange for them to be picked up. Collegeboxes includes pickup “At Your Door™.” Then just select the pickup window that works best for you, and we’ll deliver the boxes to your dorm room.

Ship-To-School gives students the freedom to social distance from crowds where possible.

Pro Tip: It’s recommended boxes be kept under 50lbs, so everything arrives safely. But, your package will still ship if it is under 70lbs.

The delivery “At Your Door” option allows students and parents to stay home, avoid the crowds, and therefore get their belongings delivered early to their dorm. Once picked up, the boxes are then shipped to a U-Haul facility near the student’s school until it’s time for them to be brought to the student residence.

To help students impact by COVID-19, Collegeboxes has a discount code “STS2020” for 10% off shipping on orders of Ship-To-School.
