Though moving can be an adventure, we all know that it’s hard work. There is a lot of preparation like packing, cleaning and heavy lifting involved. Anyone who has moved before knows that it’s usually impossible to do it alone. Most people call their friends for moving help—a request that many friends dread. The usual reward for their help is pizza and cold beverages. But, after a long day of moving, most friends will just want to get home and relax. So, here are several creative ideas to reward your friends for their moving help.

Movie-lover’s Gift. Got a friend who loves to see the latest box-office hit? Grab a packet of microwave popcorn, a gift card to a local movie theater, some sweet treats, and a bottled beverage. Put all the goods in a popcorn bowl for a cute presentation. After all the heavy lifting they did, your friend will be all set to relax with a good movie.

Summer “Stay Cool” Gift. If you’re moving in the summer, the heat can really wear people out. Keep you friends cool with this summer moving gift. Grab a sun tea jug or a pitcher and stuff it with a bottle of water, sunscreen, lip balm with SPF, a towel and maybe a couple of those freezer pops we all enjoyed as kids.

Winter “Keep Warm” Gift. Moving in the winter? Try this gift to help warm them up at the end of the day. Complete with coffee mug, cocoa, gloves and a scarf, this gift basket is the way to reward your winter moving helpers.

Soothe their aching muscles. After a full day of helping you move, your friends are going to be hurting … and so are you. Look into discount rates at a massage school nearby, or grab one of the many discounted massages on sites like Groupon or Living Social.

Reward them by not asking. The best reward you could give your friend is to not ask for their help moving in the first place. No one really wants to help a friend move. It’s exhausting, and it usually takes up one or both of their precious weekend days.

Instead of wasting time and money buying a variety of gifts for friends who may or may not show up, invest in professional Moving Help Providers. These pros will get you moved far quicker than your friends could. Professional moving helpers also have the training and experience that your friends may lack—and the rates are very reasonable.

Have your friends come over after the heavy lifting is done for a housewarming party. This is great for both the friend and the person moving. The friend won’t have to give up their weekend out of guilt, and you might receive some pretty cool housewarming gifts.
