We had a major fiasco dealing with this center for our cross-country move. The rental location has absolutely no communication skills with the hub that delivers the U-boxes. We scheduled a moving day to pick up our boxes there. We went there at 8:00 in the morning to pick them up and the "old man" (who I think was the owner of the rental center) said that our reservation was for 12:00 and the boxes were not there-they were likely going to be delivered by 12:00 or earlier. Fine, we'll wait until noon. Come 12:00, I still haven't heard from the rental center. I call him and he says he hasn't heard anything from the hub that delivers the boxes. He said he had been trying to get ahold of them all morning, but couldn't get through. He said I could try and gave me the phone number. And what do you know! I was able to get right through to Vicky (the field manager) who kindly informed me that there were no U-boxes available that day!! THAT WAS OUR MOVING DAY!!! The one day we chose months before to move across country!! Much of the rest of the things going on in our lives depended on us moving out that day!!! U-hual's sole purpose is to provide moving supplies on people's moving day!! That's all they do! She says she had told the "old man" at the rental center (who claims he hadn't heard anything about the boxes) that there weren't any available that day. So not only were the boxes (that we reserved weeks before) not available on our moving date, but nobody bothered to tell us this! We only found it out after trying to figure out where the heck our boxes were! Extremely poor communication on every level. Not to mention some amount of lying to us from one of the two since "old man" at rental center told us he hadn't heard anything from the hub about our boxes and Vicky from the hub told us she informed "old man" earlier that there were no boxes available. Also to add insult to injury, we had worked hard and disrupted peoples schedules so we could borrow a friend's truck on that day, which was completely pointless since our boxes weren't available. We were actually going out of town later that day, but luckily coming back home for a few days before our move. It was then that we actually got our U-boxes and packed them up. Vicky did end up giving us a free truck to haul the boxes from the rental center and back. She also gave us a discount on our moving price (which was hard-fought to obtain). Mistakes happen and I can understand that. But the way this supposedly reputable business handled it was extremely poor. We had to all but demand a discount on our price and free truck on our moving day. That stuff should be automatic when something like this happens. Over-all grades for our experience: Old man at rental center- F- Terrible communication. Did not apologize or take responsibility for his error. Did not do anything to try to right the wrong that was his fault. Vicky the field manager - D+ did help us and apologized, but did not bend over backwa

I called this location last minute to move my son @ Va Tech from one apartment to another. They had the Van I needed, the customer service was excellent. I feel lucky that I called this Uhaul vendor at my time of need. Thanks!!

When I arrived at the uhaul facility there was a sign on the door that said the workers were away at lunch and had a contact phone number listed. There were three other customers waiting in the parking lot and they stated that two others had already left in anger. It turned out that there were two workers who had decided to take a lunch break together instead of simply using shifts to keep the shop open. When the two workers returned from their lunch they acted as if nothing was wrong and said that they did not even take the phone with them for the number that was listed on the door. I had a 1:15 reservation for my uhaul truck and arrived at the facility at 1:10. The workers returned to the office at 1:25. Then, when there was a line of people in the terrible looking facility, the worker decided to take a call and attend to the person making a reservation over the phone instead of those standing in front of him. By the time that I was able to actually be helped it was around 2pm, 45 minutes after my scheduled reservation. The worker said that he was sorry for the delay and nothing more. In addition there was a decoration on the desk that said , "Complaint Department: Take a number" attached to a fake grenade. This is an absolutely terrible business practice, especially when the customer service was so awful. After my interaction, I would not recommend this facility to anyone and now question whether I will use any uhaul services again. I have no complaints about the equipment, but the service was truly that dreadful.

It's the closest location to me even though I have to drive 20 minutes to get there. It's clean enough, but very outdated and looks more like a dingy garage than anything. The owner is very nice and super helpful

When I arrived at the pick-up location, the employee working was conversing with a customer about old cars. While I was standing there, he chose not to acknowledge me as they were looking at photos of these cars on the customer's phone. 5 minutes later, he finally spoke to me and asked if I was there to pick up. During the time he was assisting me, he was showing to other customers how his cat could do tricks and proceeded to give him treats to do so. He did not have my reservation correct as I ordered moving blankets to go with the truck and he didn't have them on his list. He then gave me 6 wet blankets that were sitting on the floor. I ended up being at this location for half an hour before leaving with my truck. He didn't seem organized or as if he cared much about customer satisfaction. It was a bit frustrating to encounter that when I'm awaiting pick up of a vehicle that moved me to a different state.

My reservation was moved from Roanoke to this location. Cost me 90 minutes of driving and gas. Did not properly increase my mileage limit to compensate. Waited 25 minutes to be serviced (only one staff, was helping another customer).

I was charged 29.95 for a cargo van when it is advertised on the van for 19.95 for in-town moving. My moving was in-town. Malcolm at All Service Electric is very nice. I would do business with him again, but unsure I would choose U-Haul again since the regional rep twisted my arm to change my reservation from a moving truck to a cargo van only because "other people have reservations for trucks".

We made a reservation totaling over $3000 for Uhaul to provide us with three boxes to be shipped across the country. We only received one box because Uhaul has a practice of over booking and under delivering. Furthermore, on the day I was supposed to pick up the boxes the individuals at All Service Electric lied to us on three different phone calls assuring us that our boxes were on the way. It wasn't until I went in to the office was I presented with the issue. Now it is costing Uhaul additional money to hire movers on my behalf to pack up the house while I am out of country. An inconvenience enough in that I have to have a family member drive an hour to come let them in. Also, compounded by the fact that I don't have faith in anyone wearing a Uhaul uniform to have the ability to read a calendar much less deliver the boxes on Tuesday as they have now promised. You can expect to hear more from me upon my return from a vacation that I now doubt I'll be able to enjoy because I'll be stressing about the lack of trust I have with a company that is so incompetent yet fully in charge of all of my belongings and in control of a 1500 mile move.

Have the truck I reserved a month ago ready at the location I initially spoke with. You called the day before I was scheduled to move my family to tell me I had to go to Rocky Mount, Va (60 mile one way) to get the truck. I feel you are poorly run and care very little about the satisfaction of your customers.

The side door to get in was either broken or jammed. We definitely needed to be able to open the side door to maneuver items into the van. When I tried to contact the office, i only heard a recording.
