The whole experience was very disappointing. Your people and internet site sent me to a place that did not have what I needed. That became my problem not thiers. If there was a competitor I would use them and recommend them to others.

Staff was friendly and efficient. Rental and return were easy and straightforward. They were honest and up-front about charges and fees---there were no surprises here.

The Staff at this location was great, Friendly and very helpful. Very professional people. They helped me out from the time I stepped into the door. They even walked me out to the van and made sure I knew how to operate everything on the truck. I will definitely come back to this location if I ever need a U-Haul again.

The manager at the actual uhaul location was very helpful and the front desk help was as well. However everyone else was beyond disappointing. I can't tell you how many things went wrong here. I had scheduled a hitch installment on my car through their call service. I arrived there and the guy didn't even work that day therefor had to reschedule for the next day which delayed my move to California by a day. The manager gave me a discount. The next day I spent over ten hours from 3:30 till 1:30am due to the hitch being installed incorrectly. The car wouldn't go into drive and they had to call the head guy into to fix it. The panels and handles in the back of by SUV were damaged and broken off and the wiring needs to be replaced. long story short after crying and feeling like I was losing my mind they eventually offered to pay for any damages. I was delayed two days for my move to California and there is much more to the story but those are the main points. I will never go back to this location but I did make sure the regional manager would give the store manager and the guy who came into fix the hitch, something nice because they went above and beyond to help me through this.

Let me just say, very poor customer service with some of the people at this location. Initially, I had a good experience with the first person that I dealth with there. She was great. I rented the truck, with a quarter tank of gas in it, I planned on about 40 miles total travel distance for my move, before returning I put gas back to a quarter tank, dropped the keys in the drop box, and got in my vehicle and left. A few days later, I was looking at my bank debits and I saw that my account had been debited $42.05 from U-Haul as a second debit from them, which was added to the $90 something dollars that I initially paid. I left a voice mail that evening with a lady at that hub and I called back the next morning to find out that I was being charged for gas ($42.05). I told them that I had got gas before returning the vehicle to the quarter tank as when I took it. They argued with me stating, "we had to get gas before we could rent it out, Monday morning." I stated, if you had to get gas before renting it out, again, then someone had to have driven the gas I put in, out of it or something, because I had put gas in it and had the receipt as well. I said that I didn't like to be called a liar. I put gas back in the truck before returning it. I mean how much gas can you use going less than 40 miles, in the first place? Really? Why would I lie about that? Ridiculous. I then asked to speak to a manager and a person named, Jim got on the phone and was rude as well. He told me that if I was going to talk, and not interrupt him, that I could call 1-800 U-Haul. When the fact of the matter is that he didn't allow me to express my full thought and I told him that I didn't appreciate someone calling me a liar over a quarter tank of gas. He didn't enjoy hearing that. If I had a business, and I wanted it to thrive, I wouldn't argue with someone over pennies, when clearly he had no idea what was going on. When running a business, it takes common courtesy, listening skills, and good customer service, which this country boy was lacking! It seems to me that they have to rip people off for their business to survive. In the beginning, my experience was good, but ended bad. Last, I did as Jim suggested, I called the 1-800 number to U-Haul and I will say they were wonderful. They credited my $42.05 back and apologized for them. I have used U-Haul on University Ave., Champaign, many times prior to this experience and never had any issues. I will now NEVER visit the place on Perkins Road if I should ever need a moving vehicle...they are a complete joke and rip off!! To me, it is not about the $42.05, it is about the principle behind how they handled the situation. Clearly they were attempting to rip me off. I am writing this to warn others to BEWARE of U-HAUL ON PERKINS ROAD! The good thing is, ripping someone off didn't work for them this time. Don't ever doubt calling the 1-800 number if you should ever have an issue. In fact, I suggest it!! They will call you back and he
